Looking over the "Battles and Campaigns" section (presumably focusing on the comics and animated Clone Wars), it's interesting to note that the very first affair they concentrate on is the Battle of Jabiim, followed by Kamino, Ohma-Dun, and Aargonar...but no Praesitlyn? No Boz Pity? No Raxus Prime or Haruun Kal or anything on "Durge's Lance"? Unless this is simply the first two pages, and there seems to be an emphasis placed on the VISUAL Clone Wars contributions; but I'd expect more referents to other affairs in the text sections than there appears to be.

Granted, more folks are familiar with the animated series than the novels, but for a work as purportedly "all-encompassing" as they're advertising, the prose works shouldn't get the steerage section at the expense of the rest of it.

    On another note:

Who is that at the very bottom of the second page? Right next to Ventress's leg...it reads something like, "THE ----- ------," and can't make it out for the life of me.

I want to say "The Droid-General", but I'm not sure. That's a pic of Grievie, though.

I'll see if I can make out some of that Ruusan blurb.

EDIT: This is all I can make out:

A millennia before the Battle of Yavin, Lord Hoth ... the Jedi Knights against the Sith Lord Kaan's army, the Brotherhood of Darkness... the Jedi ... Kaan and his followers commit suicide using a Force-...

Not even sure that's right. I might be able to guess a little better if it hadn't been so long since I read the comic.

These books look interesting. Out of interest, though, does anybody know much about the up-coming book about the prequels by Pablo Hidalgo and Steven Sansweet? I'm curious about it.

I assume you're talking about "Chronicles", about which I haven't heard anything recently. I just guessed that it had been postponed indefinitely.

This visual guide looks excellent. I just hope there'll be plenty of new art, new EU info and some new continuity fixes.

    This guide looks amazing!

What is great about this book, I think it would make a great gift idea, especially for those people who never 'get' our obsession with Star Wars. I think this book will sum up the entire saga, EU and all, quite nicely! :)

Looks okay, hopefully it won't be too movie-centric and won't be just rehashing stuff we know already. Nice to see they're following the LoE version of events, rather than the ghastly Clone Wars volume 2 stuff.

Question is, will the book present NEW continuity info -- nuggets and snippets we ain't never seen or heard before -- rather than simply rehashing what's already been done? I mean, that's what we've got this forum (and the Clone Wars treatise project) for. [face_skull]

Nice Lungbarrow quote, BTW. Own two copies of the book, meself.

Going by these preview pages, it doesn't look like there will be much in the way of new info - it's basically collecting various referances to events and characters into one volume, not creating new material (unlike New Essential Chronology). Still, I notice there are a couple of images from the Grievous story from Visionaries in there. I wonder what the text says?

Amazon lists Ultimate Visual Guide as being only 40 pages. The previous Visual Guides were all 64 pages. Does anyone know if that's correct? This seems like a mistake, especially when compared to the new "Complete Locations book". That one comes in at 176 pages, compared to 40 pages each for the other "Inside the Worlds..." books.

The OS article doesn't list any page count for the new book.

I think one of the preview pages has the number 115 at the bottom, so I guess that it's way more than 40 pages. I would expect it to be a lot thicker than the regular visual guides.

For sixteen quid, they're sure riding their Amazon price margins, considering how similarly much the VDs go for in hardback with a far lesser page-count.

Thanks for the heads up Kast! I didn't catch that detail in the pics. A 115+ page Visual Guide is a pretty good buy for $16.

I think there is some EU in the Visual Dictionary.

I can't wait for the locations.

Dam i wanted more clone war stuff, mabey this is just 1 of many pages. IMO there must be prestalin, Durges Lance, Out Rim Seidges(this should get its own page), and many other important battles but i probaly wont happen.

Are they going to make a new chronology book? I'd pick one of those up.

They finally gave due recognition to the stories around 5000-4000 years before A New Hope.
