    Greetings,

Once again, Chicago Force will be having new T-Shirts made for the upcoming movie release. And once again, we want to come up with a nifty new slogan for the back of the shirt.
"Your Kind of Scum" is of course the official slogan for Chicago Force, but we were hoping to come up with something a little different for the new shirts. Also, if you have any suggestions as to different styles of shirt to be made available, please let us know.
So, if everyone would post your ideas here. There's no specific goal we're looking for except that it obviously relates to Star Wars somehow. Tying in with Revenge of the Sith and/or tying in with the city of Chicago is probably a plus, but not neccesarily required.

Also, please keep in mind that even though "Le_Penguin Is A Big Stupid Dummy!" won by popular opinion last time, we will still probably reject this if it is brought up again, out of respect for Big Stupid Dummies who might be offended.

Regardless of slogan, I think there should be something about us being a Star Wars fan group on the shirts.

The current ones really only say "Chicago Force" and "Your kind of scum".

How 'bout "Soon we can rest... forever sleep." Too cynical?

"Bionic hands run in my family"

    "Remember midichlorians? Neither do I."

    "5 out of 6 ain't bad"

    "Palpatine is Sidious!?!?!?"

"We're the Chicago version of the EU (only not as lame)"

"Desperately trying to let Joseph Campbell rest in peace"

"I swear, this is just part of my work release program"

"Lining up since '99... winding down after '05"

    -Le Penguin
    "It's not a tumor!"

hmmm...I'll give the slogan concept a noodle and post any results. i'm not a fan of putting that we're a star wars club on the shirt--those who know, know; those who don't, probably don't need to know. :)

    how about:

    Stunted Slime!

two advanced ideas for T-shirt types:

    1) baseball-type shirts, with white on the chest/back and then different colored 2/3 sleeves...i like those shirts a lot.

    2) bowling shirts...these are AWESOME. i would KILL for a chicago force bowling shirt!

Yeah, I think my favorite thing about the current shirt (both sides) is that unless you're a Star Wars fan, you really wouldn't know what Chicago Force it is. Most non-fans ask me if I'm a cop. I would almost guess that as a walking advertisment, curiousity about what CF is, gets more people to punch in the website when they get home.
Doesn't mean the new shirts have to remain ambiguous.

BTW, my vote is for "Thank God It's Over!"

I think the new shirts should be bi-curious.

"i would KILL for a chicago force bowling shirt..."

    Start with Hawk-Bat.

    ==============================

The bowling shirt/baseball shirt is indeed a good idea. Kinda of limits the front to a small logo on one side, though. But I guess the back is free territory.

"Everything is proceed as we have forseen."

    "Ne Jabba no badda."

    "Utinni!"

"Odds of 'Revenge of the Sith' being good: 3720 to 1"
(OK, not really good for a shirt, just how I feel)

    "Greedo didn't shoot first!"

    "My other shirt says '501st'"

"We're on a mission from Yoda"
(and track down KongZilla and get that cool Yoda/Blues Bros drawing he did (the t-shirt slogan thread of March 2002, page 40 here, I think))

    "Chicago Force says f&$% you."

Oh.....not Star Wars enough? Okay, how about we Yoda-esque the phrase: "F&$% you, Chicago Force says."

Hey HazMatt, I got a copy of KongZilla's design. It will be really cool to have that done. I'm down for that.

Unfortunately we can't sell blatant images ripped from Star Wars. If my history is correct, a few years ago "Star Wars Chicks" went through Hell & High Water just to get permission from LFL to do a very limited number of shirts with Princess Leia's image on them to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness.

re: baseball shirts...I know there's a cafepress version; I was thinking something a bit more official. silkscreened instead of the cheaper iron-on or whatever cafepress uses.

as for bowling shirts, you'd probably have to take advance orders on those since they'd be much pricier. Offer it as a pre-line thing, get prepaid orders, then get as many as you need. If people want them during or after the line, you can do a second run.

Here's one pricing list just for a point of reference.

(digital printing is cheaper than silkscreening on the above site, but hell, if you're gonna do it, go all the way.)

I doubt Joe Sixpack will pay $40 for a CF bowling shirt...but I know I would, and I bet a few of us other die-hards would too. Those nice custom bowling shirts with Simpsons logos on them you see at con are pretty pricey too so the sticker shock isn't too bad.

i'd be proud as hell to wear a CF bowling shirt here in the LA line. i'll be proud as hell to wear any CF shirt, but especially a bowling shirt.

As for slogans, here's a few:

"Letting the Wookie Win Since 1999"

"It's 106 parsecs to Bespin, we've got a good motivator, half a pack of spice, it's dark and the blast shield's down. Hit it."

    "Twisted and Evil"

    "So be it...Jedi"

    "Fly Casual"

"We have a bad feeling about this"

    "Made to Suffer"

    "Charming to the Last"

    "We're doomed."

"Only we could be so bold."

    "We care."

"We're all gonna be a lot thinner."

    "We're all gonna get laid!"

"Charming to the Last" is pretty good.

If/when we get bowling shirts made up, we should send them all down to Matt so he can take them over to DisneyLand. It'll be his job to get the ladies who stitch names onto the mouse ears to stitch our screen names onto the front pockets of the shirts.

If anyone can think of a better way to get that done, I'd like to hear it.

How about a sewing machine? Or an embroidery machine (which is basically a sewing machine in steroids)?

But of course, that wouldn't have the added benefit of giving Matt an excuse to go to Disney. Which, upon reflection was probably the point.

My friend Sue (Jurist...you met her at the Jedi Robe Workshop) has one of those Embroidery machines that you can have someone (and she knows a couple people) take the design and scan it into a program that her embroidery machine can read...then insert the floppy into her machine and the machine embroiders it automatically...well...sort of automatically...thread changes etc still have to be done manually....

I can ask her how much she would charge to do some shirts...but I don't know if she would take on the task....

They actually do that at the "Mall of Midway" at 53rd & Pulaski in one fo the little fleamarket shops. That's where all the bangers get their street names stiched on their ballcaps. Pretty cheaply too I think.

Personally, I'm not big on straight quotes from the movie. Seems dull and unoriginal to me. But, if I was to pick one for this movie (since we don't have any actual RotS quotes yet):

At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi....
At last we will have Revenge....

    or just plain old:

At last we will have Revenge....

    or just how 'bout:

At last we will have Revenge....on May 18th

    I like
"at last we will have revenge...on May 18th"

    or "lining up for Revenge-May 18, 2005"?
