I've been a fan of the old prime time drama for a while now, but for me it doesn't get any better than Nip/Tuck.

Anyone who has seen two or three full episodes knows how poweful and amazing this show is. It just keeps pushing your (the viewer) buttons, forcing you to deal with stuff that really really creeps you out. The show takes you on an emotional ride, its intense!

Anyone else out there discover this show? Honeslty, its like HBO Sopranos quality good.

And how about the graphic surgeries? I used to cover my eyes, but now i can watch them. The graphic nature of the surgery's usually only intensifies the drama on the show as they usually relate to the plot. And how about the music they play during surgery? Wow.

I don't want to give anything away in the first post, but for those who haven't seen the show I suggest you watch the first season, its AWESOME. The second season so far has equalled and in some ways may be superior to last season, we'll see after its all over. This tuesday's episode is going to be DYNOMITE!

So, what do you guys think of the show? Personally, although Doctor Troy is the resident smooth talking awesome player, I really dig Dr. Macnamara's charecter the most. I also like the boy, Matt, even if he does a resemblence to Michael Jackson (of today). Julia is an awesome actress and she really breeds life and sympathy into a charecter who might have been totally ruined in another actor's care. The little girl is allright when she's around, but I am kinda annoyed that she just disappears for episodes at a time.

    Anyway, this show rocks.

I would agree with everything you just posted, OWM..

    For the first season.

I would say that Dr McNamara was the glue of the show, and while the rest of the characters were no less interesting, he was the compass.

The first season was completely riveting, yet it wasn't so "Melrose Place-ish."

However, this second season has been uneven, to be polite.

I liked the show much better when they focused on one plot point at a time, instead of trying to continually one up them selves.

For example, the entire Wilbur plot was a huge distraction, and they should have just left it at the scene back in the first season.

Now, the son is Troy's too? Meh..

Which brings me to my last point. The son. Micheal Jackson looks aside, this is the most annoying kid on the face of the planet.

He slices himself down there, runs over a girl, gets "caught" outside of a window, and just manages to walk through life with that emotionless smirk.

Although, I still have the latest episode on tape, which I haven't watched let.

I enjoy watching this show because it definitely pushes the envelope as far as sex, affairs, and the everyday drama of a plastic surgeon's life. 5 years ago, this show would've never been aired.

Mr. 44 I see what you are saying about Matt and the second season, but I sort of just suspend disbelief about plot lines. I mean, the lives of these plastic surgeon's are so incredulous you have to just except the craziest stuff imaganibale is all going to happen to them.

It looks like tomorrow night McNamara is finally going to find out about Matt's real father...doesn't look pretty.

I like the show a lot. Granted it does get graphic, not just with the surgery scenes, but the sex as well. It's pretty easy to enjoy the plot lines without having to watch those scenes, just change the channel for like 2min, and then change back. Tonight's episode will be awesome though!!!! Even the previews with Troy on the ground with a (probably) broken nose looked interesting.

Well, IMO, Nip/Tuck definitely isnt the best show on televsion (that honor goes to The Wire, at least for me) but it does display shades of greatness at times. Personally, though, I dont think they'll ever get there. The producers seem intent on shocking the viewer with ludicrous plotlines rather than toning it down a bit, which is when the show is at its best. For instance, the first three or four eps. were great this season, but then all of that goes down the toilet with Julia's revelation about Matt, as well as Matt's affair with the love coach. I have to admit, though, that I cannot wait to see Sean's reaction to Julia's news tonight. God how I hope he throws that hypocrital whiner right out on her ass. It'll also be interesting to see what the future of the practice - as well as the McNamaras and Christian - will turn out to be.

I thought the first few episodes this season sucked for one reason: the stupid "turning 40" motif that was drilled into our heads by every character on the show. Wilbur was also a plot device to soften up Christian, but that turned out alright I guess. I'd like to see less of Gina and more of Kimber.

It looks like Ava is going to be the "villain" of this season. I like her much more than Escobar. The show really lost me when it turned deadly serious at the end of last season, so I hope we never have to see that Columbian crackhead again.

Matt is definately the most infuriating. The writers seem to be going out of their way to make us hate him, yet he gets to have a threesome with two bisexual teenagers and now he's sleeping with the hot chick from X-Men and Goldeneye? What gives?

Yea, its a bit ridiculous how many girls (and women) Matt has gotten over the past two seasons. It'd be a bit more realistic if he wasnt so weird looking.

Also, what's the deal with his hair ??

Wow what an epiosde huh!? I didn't like how Julia just kinda came out and said "You don't know the truth, Matt ain't yer son..." I think it could've come out a bit softer to the guy.

I enjoyed the symbolism last night, too. Sean wants to believe in everything, and he finds out everything he has believed in is a lie thus far. And all throughout the episode he didn't believe Jesus caused the stigmata, but in the end he needs to believe in Jesus for guidance. Then it call comes down on him again when he finds out the nun caused the wounds for the sake of the church.

I have no clue how the heck this show will continue now! Sean and Julia are done, Christian and Sean can't continue to work together unless Sean somehow forgives him, and Sean can probably never see Matt again, either. Not that he'd want to...

Why wouldnt he want to see Matt again (taking away the fact that it'd probably hurt too much for him to do so) ? I can understand him having hatred toward Julia and Christian, but Matt didnt do anything wrong.

strangely, the fact that Matt gets so much play in such weird ways kind of rings true in some sense for me, precisely because it's so strange and unbelievable. it's kind of paradoxical and counterintuitive, but some people just have really strange, unbelievable sex lives, and i can see Matt in that category.

What's even more creepy is that the actress who plays Annie kind of looks like him a bit.

Last night's episode was pretty good, especially that sex scene... :D

I think they could've used the symbolism of Christian/Sean to the siamese twins a bit more subtley. It was all over the place!

Also, as plastic surgeons I think they shouldn't have had such a huge part in the operation. They shouldn't have been involved in the actual separation, that's more of the neurosurgeon's job. They only should've come in after the operation and dealt with the facial reconstruction of Raven and Rose.

Oh, and did anyone else notice Matt was playing Halo in that scene with Julia? ;)
