Ah, Bevel Lemelisk. Galaxy's greatest techno-criminal or New Republic scapegoat? He was executed for creating the Death Stars and other superweapons, with no indication a trial was provided, I might add. And ever since Rogue Planet[i/] and AotC I have been chortling at the how the Death Stars' were not his personal invention. Dear me, such an inadvertent travesty of justice. Or is it? Anyway, reflecting on this has set me wondering: how many other instances are there of bad guys being less guilty than first presumed, and how many good guys are less innocent than we thought? Never mind the possible implications this has for rehabilitating the Empire and Sith. Never mind demonizing of the Old and New Republic and Jedi. That is not in our interest, for these institutions being good or bad is (unfortunately) a necessary premise for there to be good and bad in Star Wars. That about which I am curious is this: judging by their actions, not motives, who in the EU is, as a person, either better or worse than IU decrees would have us believe? Which of them have not been held accountable for their deeds? And should they?

Grand Admiral Teshik, the only Grand Admiral to be executed by the Rebels, certainly fits the bill. He was essentially scapegoated by the Rebels after their victory at Endor, despite having a (relatively speaking) clean record. It didn't help his case that he kept the Imperial fleet fighting for several hours after DSII was destroyed. Teshik's ship was disabled, he was given a show trial by the Rebellion, and executed shortly thereafter.

    > Jaina Solo... the EU tends to have her as the good Jedi...
yet she is a coldblooded killer and murderer of her own brother. We never saw the aftermath of how she returned to the Light Side since that had been a dark side act sanctioned by the Jedi Council.

    > Tahiri is being prosecuted for something that is not even a crime. She was following orders and they were at war. Killing an enemy in war is not a crime.

    > Daala's crimes were forgotten too easily

    > Kyp Durron got away with too much because of the "the Sith made me do it" excuse. He fell because of his own weakness, true he was guided by a Sith, lured, but it was his decision, his action.

    > Jacen Solo is viewed as a horrific Sith, yet he was, by sith standards, rather nice and reserved with pain and punishment. Most deaths at his hand were not intended accidents (Bobas daughter) or unplanned selfdefense (Mara)

    > Ewoks are loved always... but they are cannibals and ate and served the Rebels stormtrooper flesh during the Endor celebrations!!!

    > Alderaan.... it was hiding rebels, funding them and there were weapons on Alderaan (Bails Tantive ships had weapons, he had a personal weapon, as did his guards etc.) and thus their claim of no weapons was a lie. they had few weapons, but they had them.

Yeah, I never liked how the rebellion screwed over Grand Admiral Teshik with that Farce of a trial. With the other Grand Admirals they either died fighting the rebellion/New Republic or other Imperials, were allowed to retire by the victors, defected, became fairly tolerant leaders of worlds/systems/sectors and were left alone by the victors since they were not giving anybody any trouble....etc. Teshik is the only one I know of who was executed.

Admiral Harkov. Turncoat traitor manipulating Rebels to further his vendetta against the empire, or Rebel sympathizer who worked alongside Alliance forces for the greater good?

The Jedi have a HORRIBLE JUSTICE SYSTEM.

Kyp Durron made his bed, and he wasn't allowed to lie in it.

I don't mind Luke forgiving Kyp....however when did forgiveness equal being let off the hook?

Example: A man murders several people. He is in prison on death's row. However during his time in prison he becomes a "better man" so to speak. He is sorry for what he did, and perhaps he became religious. Maybe someone will forgive him for his sins. HOWEVER That does NOT wipe the slate of what he did clean. The past still happened.

It seems the Jedi have the worst justice system. As long as you are sorry for your sins your let off the hook.

"Good is a point of view...."
That; right there, tells us everything we need to know about the GFFA.
With 'the farce' in place of G-d, evil is good and good is evil.
No wonder they can never keep the peace.

    Just sayin.

Very well, brothers and sisters of Star Wars fandom. The accused are brought before us. Let us begin with Jaina Solo. I am, of course, aware of her escapades, as are we all, but for the sake of this discussion let us speak as though we are not. I hereby request that the case against Jaina Solo is stated clearly and objectively. We, the ersatz jury, will then examine each point, each facet of her alleged crimes and misdemeanors. I know full well my opinions on the subject and wish to know yours.

Oh! Can I play! I love Paint The Hero Black!

I'll put the one I put on TV Tropes. (I have another one for Ikari Shinji, but it's not exactly G-rated: If you've seen episode 24 and End of Evangelion, you can probably get the gist of it.)

The charges against Teshik are pretty laughable, too. "Destruction of New Republic property" was one of them, I recall. What a farce!

I'm sure having a capable commander and a super weapon designer would have come in handy in the war against the Remnant and especially the Vong. Killing both gained the New Republic nothing. Sure politically and maybe morally it seems good but practically it's pointless. It would be like the Allies executing Rommel and Wernher Von Braun.
