Hello everyone, and Happy thanksgiving slightly belated!!!

I found some incredible fabric for a jedi cloak ages ago, and I bought enough for 1 cloak (although I didn't know it at the time). Now, that fabric is gone--it didn't last one week in the fabric store. Too cool of stuff. Anyway, after seeing the first cloak, my brother has wanted one, and I've been trying to find fabric that would work. The fabric stores near me do not seem to have what I'm after. I know Obi Wan's was made out of wool, but that stuff is alittle itchy. I'm hoping to find some stuff that looks more like what they used for Mace Windu's cloak, where it is smooth yet with a grain and it isn't itchy.

If anyone has any suggestions/knows of a place where fabric can be bought that would work, please PLEASE let me know!!!

Also my budget isn't that big, so I'd rather do fabric that isn't more than 5 a yrd if possible.

    Thank you and God bless!
    ~N

Is the Singapore boots the one of the cheaper alternative ways to get Obi-Wan ROTS boots? If yes, what needs to be altered about Singapore boots to get really close to the real Obi-Wan ROTS boots in the movie?

Yes, the Singapore boots are fairly accurate and cheap. They just need to be more custom fit to your calf as the version I have the front spat is a little loose.

The simplicity patterns are a good starting point but need to be altered slightly to be accurate to the screen used tunics.

I bought a cool false beard (real hair) cause I do not want to run like a 40 years old...

Anyway. Here is how it looks like:

WELL, WELL, I AM BACK! I am a married Jedi Knight right now. I have over 300 photos from my wedding. I will try to post them all during this week as well the photos from the gear I built for the costume. Rebeca's dress was VERY IMPRESSIVE. I think she will get it into C4 next year. She will probably win something. Thanks to all for your kind messages. I am moving my stuff from my parent's house to my new house. Will take me some time. ASAP I have everything ready, I will start taking orders for pouches, belts and other gear for Obi-Wan and Anakin as well. You will see! May the Force be with you! :D

Hope takes less than that. I'm missing my Star Wars collection, which I am planning to move during this week :). Rebeca moved almost all her stuff, I am listening Madonna since Dec 10 :_|. Do not get me wrong, I like Madonna...but I am missing John Williams... :)

Cause I know you won't be able to catch some details from my wedding photos I will post them before that. Here is the finished Obi-Wan Kenobi Belt Buckle Prop Replica. This is the one I used in my wedding night.

They will be available for sale next year. I am trying to get them for around 30 dollars. The flaps really works! Check the high resolution photos! I added photos from the original one as well.

This is the tutorial you were waiting for. The Grappling Hook Pouch assembly instructions. This is the one I used on my wedding night. I tried to put my cell phone in, but ended up on my leather pouch :) That will help those who are willing to buy the kit and want to know how to assembly all together.

Someone suggested motorcowboy for boots - I had a REALLY BAD experience with them. They sent me the boots in the wrong color, and cut in a way not at all like their photos ( I took them to a cobbler who said he could do nothing with them based on their cut). To their credit, since they goofed the color totally, they re-made them (but I had to pay $25 return shipping!), but again, despite my request to make sure the cut of the front tongue looked like their photos, they came ALL WRONG. Even friends who aren't into Star Wars ask me why they look that way (!) So, $425 later, I have a pretty poor pair of boots. And the maker won't even respond to emails now. Contact me for photos - jramza@hotmail.com. I'd be glad to back up my words. Your call - do some research - and buyer beware...

I am really sorry did not work out for u. I had some problems too. Jim Evans, Motorcowboy owner did the same for other members here. But HE paid for the arrangements the local cobbler did. I bought them in eBay, I pay 399 plus shipping and the they came in time. I used them for my wedding night. I danced the whole night and felt pretty good. I know, right now, that THEY ARE NOT movie accurate.

This is the thread I started on RPF forum before buy them on Jul 11 2006:
    http://www.therpf.com/index.php?showtopic=113464&hl=obi-wan+boots

I did not know about the movie accuracy problem at this time. Nobody there told me anything about the faults the boots had. So I bought them. Despite the movie accuracy they an impressive work. I do not know If they worth what I paid. Just check for other boots makers before buy boots. This is why I learn. Hope that helps! I will look for a local cobbler to replicate the boots the way I did with the belt buckle and all the stuff I did. :)

Indeed. The fabric is amazing. Even better than the one I found in Argentina. I bought 10 yards last year and received them today. I am really impressed. I will remake my tunic for C4 using this fabric. ASAP I do a comparison I will post it here as I did before. Thanks HeatherD and May the Force be with you!

PS: I received my wedding photo samples. I hope to have them ASAP to post them here.
