In one of the interviews Leslye is asked if the Acolyte is a Sith, and she doesn’t give a straight answer saying it’s open to interpretation but says it will all become clearer.

So perhaps Mae is not affiliated with the Sith right away, but perhaps her affiliation with them develops over the season. But when I see a red lightsaber tease like that, and someone overpowering 6(?) Jedi, that makes me almost certain that is a Sith character. And the marketing department or whoever is responsible for creating the trailer will surely know how fans will react to that. And if it just turns out to be a misdirect, that would be lame.

    Edit:

And especially when it comes to revealing the Sith Lord in a serialized mystery, I don’t expect him/her to be revealed right away.

Would this be about the time the Emperor's Master is plotting? Darth Plagueis ?

I must confess I am a bit baffled by the trailer. First observation is that I find myself drawn to a story about Jedi investigating murders of their own and some visuals are too-notch. But … a few shots look like da films and not necessary very impressive ones. I hope they polish those a bit. Got a Kenobi vibe, where I felt at some points a bit more budget would have helped. Wondering if those are the famous budget cuts.

Oh and I got to admit, visuals aside … I am quite excited. Original characters in an original story. Kind of what I hoped for.

We don’t know for certain but given the timeline of about one hundred years before TPM I think we’re probably getting an earlier Sith. Maybe his master or his master’s master. Palpatine isn’t even born for another 48 years and then he doesn’t become Plagueis’ apprentice (in Legends at least) until he’s a teenager. So that’s probably time for at least two generations of Sith before him.

I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but I haven't read back all these pages... How can the Jedi know about the Sith prior to The Phantom Menace?

We’ve been told repeatedly the Sith are involved.

    There’s also this, too: https://ew.com/star-wars-the-acolyte-trailer-leslye-headland-8610791

    Sadly, Amandla isn’t a Sith.

We don't know that they do. We will have to see how it plays out.

The thing people should be analysing right now is who’s hand is that holding the red lightsaber at the end.

I love seeing a Tarsunt again. One of my favorite of the new aliens, next to the Abednedo. My favorite thing about the ST are the alien species (one of the few elements I like), which I think generally look better than the aliens in the OT and PT. As much as my nostalgia brain loves Rodians and Gran, they don’t ultimately look that great.

Take a deep breath and then…read what Headland has said about the show. :) Here, I’ll just do it for you:
    So…there will be Sith.

Remember what Yoda said. “Your homework, you must do, before ranting.” ;)

Finally we get the Jedi wielding more than just the same green and blue lightsabers.

Now mind you I'm not for like hot pink, brown etc. but orange and yellow as basic colors are much welcome to add variety.

Youtube ratings of the trailer (up and down): 123K vs. 114K. This is ridiculous. The SW trolls are back in action.

I like the way that is phrased, like there is one purple lightsaber handed down generation to generation.

Eh I don’t care about them you shouldn’t either. There is nothing you can really do about it. Thry just show how insecure they are anytime a minority even gets close to them.

They are full of sad surprises.

also before any of you who actually disliked the trailer for legitimate reasons that’s fine, but disliking it because their were Asian people in it isn’t.

Of course they are. There are wimminz and black and brown people in it. Very triggering for these delicate white trolls.

It’s refreshing to see her nerd out about obscure stuff that I can imagine would go over most peoples’ heads.

For instance pointing out that there will be a Zygerian Jedi and half-Theelin/half-human.

Those aren’t things that anyone but the biggest Star Wars nerds are going to care about or even understand.

I’m wondering if the character being half-theelin is actually going to matter at all.

Unlike Star Trek where there are half vulcans, half-klingons, half-cardassians, etc. You don’t see too many half- togruta or half-zabrak.

I’m getting the vibe that maybe she played a tabletop RPG and her character was half-theelin and she made a character half-theelin just because she’s a nerd and she could and I love it.

True, though in the most recent live action show, we got ourselves a half-Twi’lek - first seen in Rebels of course. So it’s not too novel.

Looks ok, except one line made me chuckle: "Someone's killing Jedi. It doesn't make sense".

    Errr...yeah it does!

I hadn't read any spoilers so was really chuffed to see Carrie-Anne Moss and Lee Jung-jae in it.

    Bring on June 4.
