I finished my first complete rewatch of Andor season 1 yesterday, and... yeah, I take back everything negative I've said about the show.
I think my main issue with watching Andor back when it was released was the tonal shift from what I expect Star Wars to be, but now that I knew what to expect it all just clicked for me.
I did enjoy the show the first time, don't get me wrong, but this time I loved it.
The prison arc is among the most beautiful and thrilling stories I've ever seen on television.

I'll say one controversial thing though; I know it’s cool to **** on The Volume these days, but they should have used it a little bit more for this show, as some of the greenscreening is pretty bad. But that's nitpicking to the point of ridiculousness.

This may sound silly, but I’m really happy to read this. I respect your opinion on film and TV (and more) a great deal, and it stung a little when you ranked Andor near the bottom of your Star Wars list.

Further, I was also blown away during my second reward. And my fourth. :)

Anyway, welcome to the club. It’s a better club with you in it!

I love Andor outside not enough magic of the Force and almost no aliens.

"most were just background aliens" describes almost all aliens in all of SW.

I mean, I agree about the lack of aliens to an extent, but it's not as if there are that many aliens who are actual characters in any on-screen Star Wars. Chewie, Yoda, Jar Jar, Watto, Jabba, Nute Gunray, Grievous and Maul. Those are the ones I can think of from the OT and PT off the top of my head. The rest are small bit parts with at most a few lines.

Andor could benefit a bit from having a few more aliens in speaking roles, but it's not as if they're non-existing.

Andor almost felt to human at times to me, Ferix, the prison and Aldani. Only background aliens on Coruscant. Its why i hope we get more aliens in season 2. The first three episodes also felt it could be not in Star Wars.

False. There were aliens with speaking parts on Ferrix, Morlana One, the prison planet, and the secret Rebel hospital moon, and background aliens on Niamos and Coruscant. That’s aliens on six different planets.

I have no issue with the focus on humans. The original trilogy is very human-centric. You get the freaky deaky scenes in Mos Eisley and Jabba’s Palace to flesh out the alien side of the universe, but otherwise:

The Yavin rebels and Empire are all human in the original movie

Echo Base rebels are all human

Cloud City is a human colony, except for the ugnauts working in the lower levels

Then yeah, it gets a little more diversified in ROTJ with alien rebels like Ackbar and Prune Face, but it’s probably why they stick out more.

On the prison planet. They weren’t floating in space. :)

I found them, the huge alien that was hired to intimidate Cassian on Ferrix, the little alien at the shop on Ferrix who argues with his colleague, the funny aliens lounging on planet Florida, and the multi-armed doctor alien, to be very memorable. Also, how did you forget if I just posted photos of 20 different aliens from the show? ;)

Andor having no aliens, just like RO having no aliens (which was a complaint I remember fondly), is a myth.

Rogue One had plenty of aliens no arguing there. Im not the only one said the lack of alien complaint and sometimes looking to earthy, in this show. I want Star Wars to get more complex locations.

Presence or lack of aliens is optics or perceptions. They are everywhere in all SW content, it is just how our eye focus when watching, combined with the focal point of the story.

the simple solution is to add Admiral Raddus to season two

his presence alone will make everyone forget about complaining about the lack of aliens

If you have the chance, get the book The Rebel Files. Has a good writeup of how the rebels were doing in that era. I was rereading it in the hospital and they touch up a lot on Rogue One.

Was never a fan of Mass Amedda. Too Star Treky. The over-humanised face was what did it for me.
