Yay! a favorite artist is drawing a Doctor Strange one shot for Marvel in December. And speaking of Doctor Strange, just learned Adam Kubert is drawing the Soldier Supreme two-parter, which probably means I’ll buy those issues, as I am still a fan of Adam’s 20+ years on. Still love his 90s Wolverine. As silly as the Infinity Warps concept is, Adam makes the Steven/Stephen mash up work for me.
Darth Vader vol. 2 - I enjoyed Jocasta Nu’s mission and her outburst in the archives, so I felt this was worth a read for her. I can see why folks enjoy this series so much as it brings Vader closer to the villain he was in the original SW. Some great ideas from Soule and Ninth Sister was good comedy relief, but my not being a fan of the Emperor or the Empire, means I won’t pick up another issue or arc until Spoiler Oppo Rancisis shows up. Certainly the best NU Star Wars comics I’ve read since Soule’s Obi-Wan & Anakin mini series and Jason Aaron’s Obi-Wan issues; though not enough for me to continue reading on a monthly basis.
did some googling to find a consensus (and couldn't find any) about who would win in a multi-verse parallel versions brawl, the Fantastic Four Council of Reed's or Rick and Morty's Council of Ricks. To be noted, I believe both the "prime" members of each of those groups have turned their back on the Council of alternate selves. Either way, it would be a cross dimensional bloodbath.
This week: X-men Gran Design 2, this has been a great read. Hunt For Wolverine Dead Ends 1 Scarlet 1, by Bendis. A political revenge thriller. Marvel 2 in 1 #9 The Thing and Human Torch Extermination 2, almost missed this. Daredevil Annual 1 X-Men Blue 34 X-23 #3 The New Mutants Dead Souls 6 Isola 5, this beautiful comic. Marvel free preview.
I read the last issue of Saga awhile ago, great ending but I'm straight up surprised they're taking a year off. But, on the flipside, movies and TV shows take a year or more off in between issues so maybe it sorta works. At least they told us they're taking a year off, some books miss for months and years and you don't get anything except "working on it!"
This week: Thanos Legacy 1 Old Man Logan Annual 1, I am quite curious if they will kill this Logan since the old one is returning or combine them in some way. Project Superpowers 2 Quicksilver No Surrender 5 The Immortal Hulk 5 The Dead Hand 6 Asgardians of the Galaxy 1, mostly I'm curious how the Destroyer Armor is going to be used. X-men Gold 35 Relay 3 Justice League 7 Captain America 3 Batman 54 The Avengers 7 Astonishing X-Men 15 Cosmic Ghost Rider 2 and 3, I knew I forgot to get the last issue.
Old Man Logan still sells pretty good, I can see them trying a two Wolverine's type of thing. I still haven't followed young Logan's return as I fully expect it to be recapped and revealed in the pages of Old Man Logan at some point.
If I understand it correctly, Old Man Logan is going to be killed off. Seeing how they had X-23 stop using the Wolverine name with prime Logan coming back, it seems like they don't want him to have any rivals.
What do people think of the current EXiles series? Should I consider getting the TPB? I like the EXiles and it seems to have nice art but what I have seen so do the teams Blink act as she has little experience leading or doing Exiles stuff, which feels wrong if she is supposed to be any of the Blinks with a history with the Exiles. Also the Chibi-Wolverine feels like they are trying to hard to make him innocent and cute, he don't feel like Wolverine. It feels like somebody who have not really seen a colourful kids-show trying to make how s/he thinks a cute kids-show character should act. It would have been better if the had used Wolverine from X-babies since he felt like a kid version of Wolverine bad attitude and all). And what I have seen of the Watchers do they feel much more emotional and shouty than they traditionally are presented as. I also have some problems with that some of the worlds they visit seems (to me) not really that thought-out.
After reading Cosmic Ghost Rider I have the need to read the further adventures of Juggerduck. X-Men, I wish Storm had been able to keep the hammer. But it was all used up and vanished.
Juggerduck is a wonderfully silly concept. Do the Guardians of the Galaxy in Cosmic Ghost Rider have any more non-Earth based character's in their line up beside Iron Groot?
Was there a Nova among them? I have only read the preview so I don't know of any members beside the ones seen there. That's why I ask
Thanks but no thanks, CGR don't interest my (beside maybe the alternative future characters he run into) and I have a student budget. So I will not buy it just to see that. I was mostly wondering because while I like the characters so do they call themselves the Guardians of the Galaxy and only Iron Groot (and maybe Captain Marvel) have any real space connection. It's just feel like such a shallow reference pool for the author to use when Marvel have so many space characters you can go crazy with. Where is Talos the Deathlok, Old Man Noh-Varr, Venom The Accuser, Death's Head I & II, Black-knight O'Hare, Phaedra the Phoenix, etc.
Well what do we have: Wonder Woman 54 Old Man Logan 47 Domino 6, this has been getting high praise for a reason. Daredevil 608 Catwoman 3 Superman 3 Plastic Man 4 Infinity Wars 3 Fantastic Four 2 Detective Comics 988 X-Men Blue 35 X-23 #4 The Sandman Universe House Of Whispers 1, it is quite possible I may add all Vertigo titles to my pull list.
DC is adding two more 100 page titles to their new Wal-Mart initiative, with both the Flash and Swamp Thing getting new leading stories. Though the latter will only be a Halloween special.
Regarding the cover of FANTASTIC FOUR #4 Is that Hope, Iceberg and 2D from the Liberteens? If so, I guess that makes the blond most likely being Ms. America
