    Hey Everyone [face_peace]

And a warm welcome to Grievous_forever and AnakinandPadmedoomed :)

[face_laugh] funny pic there, Darth Dial-Up

I don't like grevious as portrayed in ROTS,I just thought he talked too much instead of concentrating on the task at hand(his duel with obi-wan) but I like his back story..it's fastinating(sp)

Admittingly it would have been awesome to see Grievous on his top fighting form in ROTS as was shown in the clone wars?but I did personally like how he came out in ROTS, despite some of his acts possibly being viewed as a cowardly.

And yeah, his back story is really cool. There is a pretty good article by Abel Pena who did the Unknown Warrior story in Insider, which gives more insight [face_peace]:

    http://blogs.starwars.com/abelgpena/96

where we can talk about anything Grievous...including his favorite color! :p

Which happens to be green :p:

Yeah, I read that article, it gave us a nice insight into his past but I don't particularily like the way Pena portrays Grievous, he makes him seem vain, which to me is not how a great warrior is suppose to be.

I prefer Wu's version in 'Eyes of Revolution', that's what really drew me to the character...his sense of honor in face of overwhelming odds until he was manipulated by the Confederacy.

But anyway, it's nice to see this place pick up again!:D

I had to read all about him for a trivia game. wierd, but I didn't see him as cowardly, he was just living to fight another day IMO. I know some people saw him as being cowardly.I saw him as being arrogant maybe but he was prob. made that way in one form or another. He prob had to be.

He was a warrior in the truest sense..and please dont take what I said about he talked to much in ROTS the wrong way..I talk to much too, so its not always a bad thing.:)
    Thanks for the warm welcome!

Yeah, he does have that arrogance?.and like you said, this was possibly a result in him being forged into the General they wanted him to be [face_peace]

Speaking of Christmas...I just bought the 25-figure Star Wars keychain collection at WalMart a couple of days ago. Why? Because it contains an ADORABLE Grievous figure sculpted in the same pose he briefly assumed when he first contacted Sidious in ROTS...hunched over with his head pushed forward and his arms crossed behind his back over his cape. It's actually a fairly ingenious sculpt as the cape 'billowing' forward against and between his legs makes for an extremely stable base should you want to unscrew the keychain portion and turn him into a plain ol' figure. What's more, cheaply made and soft plastic though he is, it's nonetheless a remarkably movie-accurate rendition, about the first figure I've seen of Grievous that really captures his leggy proportions. He's even sized right when posed next to the other Sithy gentlemen in the collection--Sidious, Count Dooku, Darth Maul and Vader! So do check him out. He really is cute! And if you don't want to use him as a keychain or figure, you can always hang him from your Christmas tree. That's the only way I justified to myself buying the whole collection just to get Grievous, to be honest. All the figures double as pretty good Christmas ornaments!

Cool, Biddybot, sounds like a great figure...Wal-Mart, eh? Hmmm, have to check that out.[face_thinking]

And I've just expressed my holiday Christmas Grievous greetings...the Santa Grievous icon was finally uploaded!:D

I wonder what Grievous does on Christmas?

Hmmm, let's see...he dons his Santa hat sings Christmas carols to all the captive Jedi before he kills them. Oh, didn't you know that he likes to torture his victims before he kills them!:p JK![face_laugh]

LoE is an awesome book, anakinandpadmedoomed...and yes, it has alot of great Grievous stuff in it, including a hilarious interaction between Grievous and a certain Niemodian viceroy. And I'm glad to hear it, catgirl, I hope you enjoy it!;)

Yup, it's that time of year for me to break out the ole Santa Grievous icon, although I was worried for awhile when I didn't see it uploaded at first.

I ordered my Kaleesh figure off of ebay, yep. Hope my parents don't get into too much of a shock. Arg, that article doesn't reveal very much I don't know already *sigh*. I've already made up most of my backstory for my own version of Grievous. That walmart set sounds good but Walmart is my enemy.

I need to do that story about the general and an old hermit lady.

Eh, this said, I can imagine one of Grievous' relations would sing this song on a produ (a cross between a flute and a sitar) and make the microphone fall down:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=444MW-dBwcU

I might of mentioned this song before, but there's also the new Tarja Turunen solo album which is my interpretation of Qymaen's smexy voice.

    Thanks Ludo!

I've noticed some quieting lulls on the Grievous front, and it is to be expected, after all, we have probably discussed every aspect of the guy. But I have confidence that with the new animated show coming out this fall it will get a lot of people stirring up some interesting conversation again. I'm sure there are still a lot of Grievous lovers out there waiting for the same thing.

On that topic, what would you guys like to see Grievous-wise from this new series? Something LOE related?(Grievous giving some special Nemodians the what for, and some San Hill/ Grievous in the bacta tank dialog?) That would be a cool tribute to the novel. I know I am hoping for some Geonosis action with our boy doing in jedi in the caverns. I also am hoping... HOPING for some sort of kaleesh related flashback from Grievous.

Yeah, I would love to see all these things in the new animated series...after viewing the trailer at the SW site, I'm pretty excited about this. There is one other thing, I would like to see Grievous' and Dooku's exchanges in this( the saber dueling and just general interactions between them...it seemed from the movie and the other CW series that they had a pretty good relationship with each other(not in a sexual way, of course!:p ).

Well of course not![face_laugh] Not on a tv show anyway. We can leave that up to all the creative fan fic writers out there.

Another thing I would love to see is the actual transformation from mortally wounded Grievous to the cyborg Grievous. A scene a little like the one in ROTS where Anakin becomes Vader. Actually I would love to see something a little more detailed than that, but I would guess that the producers probably dont want this show to have any really gruesome scenes.
