What do you guys think of the casting?

 

Based only on her work in Game of Thrones, I am extremely pleased by this casting.

Of course I felt the same way about Gwendoline Christie and JJ threw her down the garbage chute.

She's arguably the biggest name star in this major cast.

so the Han Solo movie comes out around the same timeframe as S8 (final season) of Game of Thrones.

 

Good because younger American actresses can't cut it.

But, Clarke hasn't impressed me much aside from GoT.

 

Uhhhhm what is with this amazing casting? I still haven't seen Alden yet but Glover and Clarke are amazing. I've said this previously but each time they announce additions to the crew and cast I get more excited about this flick and less cynical.

Excited for the Mother of Krayt Dragons.

Surely there is a planet out there inhabited entirely by cute brown haired English women, all with mysterious, tragic pasts, who rise to the occasion and save the Galaxy.

 

to be fair according to Lucasfilm all 3 female roles were open casting and they cast the best person for the job.

there are more white actors than any other race so statistically speaking the likelihood a white woman would get the job is higher.

personally I don't care what a person looks like as long as they fit the role and can act, that's good enough for me.

 

Hoping they find Kate Beckinsale next.

 

A new actress for people to bug Daisy Ridley about with parentage questions. (that aspect makes me laugh)

 

she's playing this character.

 

Well, she's not playing Sana Solo. I hope.

 

Or Dr. Aphra, if they were indeed considering those other actresses for this role.

(Or anyone else's for that matter. She'd make a good Imperial Officer. They tend to come from Planet Harrod's too.)

 

Fine by me. And I'm excited about the Han movie. I think it will work out very nicely. Basically, people are just hung up about recasting Harrison.
