if this guy does see battle he better be careful. he'll go up in flames faster than that ent in lotr.
Moroff VS Scarif Trooper: "We will destroy the Death Star...... and then.... when it is done.... and the Empire is.... ashes................... then you have my permission to die." (I'm already playing with Rogue One figures in my mind.)
In the BTS reel, Moroff seems to be wearing some sort of industrial backpack: That doesn't seem to be present in the toy: Did an early version of Moroff have a backpack, while the final one didn't? Or is the toy just not 100% accurate? These are the questions of our time.
Ignoring the ludicrous cannons it appears that Moroff may have some type of ammunition stashed along with his big gun on his backpack. I would guess that he is one of Saw's mob myself.
No, those figures all come with an accessory that has nothing to do with their film appearance (see the TFA line for what I'm talking about). This backpack looks nothing like the one in the BTS reel, which has some vertical protrusions at the top.
Yup. And just for clarity, those cannons attached to that backpack won't be in the film. They're part of Hasbro's odd, over-the-top "accessories not appearing in this film" fetish.
Ehhh...its probably a little of column A little of column B. Yes, they add accessories for the play value, but IMO the pack he comes with does bear some (although not all) similarities with the one he has in the movie.
Isn't the vertical protrusion on his left the barrels of the large "gatling" gun that we see the figure carrying? I'm thinking the top part of the Hasbro backpack is accurate but his gun is attached to the backpack in the BTS reel scene. Otherwise, the small metal racks holding things to the top of the backpack appear to be the same...
You're right. Those metal racks are very similar. I stand corrected. That might indeed be the backpack he wears in the film. Either that, or it's something like that. Perhaps exaggerated for the toy version.
Looks like he is going to be doing some re-cannonizing of his own. Mungo Baobab pointed out in some of the other threads that the action figure lists his species: Stationed at the top secret Imperial military headquarters on Scarif, these shoretroopers patrol the beaches and bunkers of the planetary facility. Prepare for awesome battle action as the specialist stormtroopers go head-to-head with the mighty Gigoran mercenary Moroff – a towering, heavy-gunner who sells his brawn and firepower to any combat zone in the galaxy that might need it. I googled Gigoran just to see if it got any hits, and there is a wookiepedia article about the species. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Gigoran Looks like they come from the old West End roleplaying stuff.
