True. Jar Jar may be the most annoying thing in Star Wars just like Trump is the most annoying thing about the US presidential election, but Jar Jar is at least a nice and friendly guy.

But, back to R1 now. I strongly believe now we'll get the teaser around late April/early May.

apparently there's some concept art out where there's an AT-AT firing on Rebel troopers and rebel troopers are in some air vehicle. anybody know where i can find that concept art and if it's on the level?

Cass was the name of the officer reporting to Tarkin in ANH that Dantooine was a deserted Rebel base.

Give me a fxxxing break. Haven't we seen enough conjectural EU names with an overemphasis on the letter "X" to make names somewhat cool and exotic (e.g. "Walex Blissex").

I don't, of course! I should clarify that I meant "overreaction of the year thus far." I look forward to many more. And to be perfectly honest, I will be sorely disappointed if you don't top this one!

 

Me, too. Rogue's One potential to retcon ANH or to introduce continuity conflicts is literally endless (not that I hope for any of that, on the contrary).

 

I'm starting to think that Rogue One was a massive April Fool's Joke. It's like Disney is about to tell us they were kidding about the whole thing.

I mean where is the damn teaser?

 

Captain America: Civil War. I would bet money on it. It could be released online on May 4, then it gets to accompany the film for its domestic release beginning on the 6th. I know everyone is impatient for the goods, but come on... imagine what Yoda would say.

 

It's probably coming right when it should come, in early May. There was little reason to assume there would be one earlier than that.

I really don't know why people get so impatient all the time. There were a whole bunch of people freaking out over TFA not having a trailer in August or September, even though it was very obvious that no trailer would be released at that time. Generally, you get the final trailer around two months prior to release, which in the case of TFA and Rogue One is in October. If you have just one teaser prior to that, May works just fine. With a new Marvel movie coming out in early May, it is the ideal time to bring out a teaser for Rogue One. Disney can combine one of their biggest movies of the year with the marketing of (possibly) the biggest one they have on schedule. That way both movies can benefit.

They are currently promoting the digital and home-video release of TFA, which mostly happens throughout April worldwide. Why have these two things overlap, when you can spread it out over two months?

 

And then on the flip side, when there is a lot of marketing, fans complain about "oh no, there's too much" or "they're spoiling/showing too much of the movie." Seriously, Marvel gets this with every single film. It's either too much or too little for many fans it seems.

It's for the best. Releasing one film a year isn't over saturation as long as 1) they all bring something new and different to the table relative to each other, and 2) a consistent level of quality is maintained. But marketing the films over each other, each a year prior to their respective release? That's how you get burnout. Waiting a bit and not promoting your next film until you're done promoting your current one (that includes up to the Blu-ray release) allows for both fans and the general audience to enjoy what's on their plate now without thinking too much about what they're going to eat tomorrow.

 

They can't win either way and clearly know more about marketing than I ever will.

That being said, we have to close to getting something.
