Han appears to be in an Imperial Installation in the later half of the movie then.

 

A Star Wars movie inspired by The Big Lebowski? This just keeps getting more and more appealing to me.

 

Say what you will about the Empire, at least they have an ethos.

 

Han and Chewie Mimban figures. Guess they meet on Mimban then? Perhaps Han, Beckett and Chewie spend some time together imprisoned and they become quite close that way.

 

From MSW, October 5th 2017;

"The movie then moves into the war years with Han Solo and Beckett being some sort of Imperials dressed similar to AT-AT commanders in a frontier battle. Beckett and Solo end up in chains (after refusing to do something evil) and they’re dragged through the mud and probably end up on Kessel after things go from bad to worse."

When the Lego Mimban set was leaked it seemed logical that this would be the planet where the above happens.

We then had the EW pic of the troopers (in the same uniform as Lego Mimban Han) entitled "Mudtroopers on Mimban"

Now we have muddy Han and Chewie in chains.

I surmise that Chewie is probably on Mimban fighting against the Empire. He gets captured along with some of the natives and the order is given to execute the prisoners. Beckett (Han's C.O.) and Han refuse and they are sent to Kessel. I have a feeling that Beckett somehow escapes or is pardoned and Han and Chewie form a bond over several years in the Mines.

EDIT: There's that one brief shot in the trailer of a helmeted and cloaked figure attacking two Kessel Guards. I should imagine that this is the sequence that sees Han and Chewie escape.

 

The more stuff about the movie gets released, the more I like it.
It's a pity there'ss a lot of hate being spread around the internet about this movie, mostly because of "Alden is not Harrison Ford" and because some people say "we didn't need this movie". Heck, Han is my favorite character since I was 8, I love Harrison Ford as Han, but I can accept a recast in this case, and Alden looks like Han just fine. And about not needing the movie.... there's a lot of stuff we didn't need that turned out great. Solo seems to have a lot of potential, and I'm glad they made it!

I saw the trailer today on the big screen right before Black Panther. It was amazing! I got goosebumps at the very first sound of a click for the music.

I NEED this movie. So glad I have it to look forward to.

Might survive?!

 

Quite possible, since the galaxy is a HUGE place and by the end of the movie, Han and Qi'ra go their separate ways... With Han and Chewie eventually going to that cantina and having that fateful meeting with Luke and Obi-Wan...

Whilst Qi'ra probably ends up as Beckett's right-hand woman and going on their own adventures?

 

Used with regard to speculation that she could die, being part of his cynicism. Discussed elsewhere in the forum.

 

The movie ends 5 years before ANH, so we won't see the cantina.
But yes, it's entirely plausible that Han and Qi'ra just go their separate ways.

Has this been confirmed anywhere?, or is it just opinion.

I had posted that just like RO, S will end at the start of ANH, either with Han and Chewie landing on Tatooine and saying 'Let's go get a drink' or with a certain bounty hunter following them up to the cantina.

 

What if Han, Chewie & Lando barely escape whatever Qi'ra had planned so whilst she took the prize, Han & Chewie have the Falcon but Lando lands on his feet eventually revealing he's heading to Cloud City to meet an old friend (Lobot)?

Could have a sequel based on the Scoundrels novel since neither Leia or Luke are present so an ideal potential barring them Legending everything Pre-Disney?

 

It has been confirmed by Kasdan and Iger. Han is 18 at the start of the movie and 24 at the end. I would bet that the six year interlude is spent in the Spice Mines of Kessel. There is five years between the end of Solo and ANH, plenty of time for more adventures....

 

They're not ending the movie with such a glaring continuity issue...

 

I think so too. Especially with the three film contract with AE.

 

Exactly. And a segment of one of the Solo novels coming out in April has been confirmed to take place between Solo and ANH.
