To kill Bendak StarKiller, my way was to throw those adhesive grenades the one that explodes with the blue crystal effect, and from there to close to hand-to-hand combat range and kill him with my vibroblades. It went pretty quick too.

I used a combo of sword and frag grenades.

But when you're using frag make sure he's stationary and shooting at you. Buy lots of health packs. Lots And lots of frag grenades. Also buy concussion grenades. Those have a chance of stunning him and you can just sit there and hack away at him with your swords while he's stunned.

I'll try that, but I'm not sure if I want to fight him. I'd gain darkside pts, which I'm trying to avoid.

I was speechless when I suddenly began fighting inthe ring, with the announcer working up the crowd in that signature voice. This really is an amazing game.

I also had that Canderous conversation, where one of his war stories talks of a "organic" scout ship. If that isn't "Vong", hell, I don't know what is!

I justify it as collecting a bounty on him. The man is a butcher. Who knows how many of those people he killed were desperate to make a buck in the death matches. He cares nothing about life. I triedto collect the bounty by taking him into custody but he resisted so there was no choice but to use force. That dark side point thing is a glitch more than anything else. I could understand it if I was just killing him in a death match for creds but i'm trying to take him in for punishment. I don't get a dark side point for killing Selven the assassin , so what's the difference in killing Starkiller? :p

Besides, once you kill him Azjuuror whatever the Hutt's name is gives you Starkiller's blaster. At first it's just another sucky pistol but it's modifiable. I added a scope, a beam splitter, and an advanced power cell. Now it's the most powerful blaster I have. It gives me 3 to 8 damage points instead of the 1 to 8 damage points of the blaster rifle. It's also very accurate.

Buy the advanced power cell at the slimy merchant's place in the Undercity. If you've already led em to the promised land...ohh well. The beam splitter and scope you can scavage off bodies.

Anyway if you have a lot of lightside points, a few dark side should be no biggy.

Buy Fett's Blaster in Korriban, it is way more powerful ;).

The Sandral/Matale quest can give you lots of light side points or lots of dark side points, depends on how you handel the ending. I chose to instigate violence, and I jumped a quarter way down in the Light/Dark Force-o-meter, went down even more, after I lied to the Jedi council about what I did :D.

That's correct, Naga Sadow does indeed have a tomb on Korriban, in the Valley of the Dark Lords, along with Marka Ragnos, Ajunta Pall (who's described as quite possibly THE very first Sith Lord in history), and others.

Ajunta Pall's tomb is first on the right as you enter the valley in KotOR, so he can't possibly be the first Sith Lord. Since the order of the tombs is in order of their reign as the Dark Lord, and since it goes around the valley in an U-shape, I deduct that Tulak Horde was the first Dark Lord of the Sith. There is very little known about him, other than the fact that he wore red armor, which was all we know about the Dark Jedi that led his fellow heretics to exile from Republic space and founded the Sith Empire.

It's not explicitly mentioned who constructed his tomb, and although Naga Sadow left for Yavin IV, it looks like SOMEBODY sure thought enough of him that they decided to stick a sarcophagus-in-absentia into there for him...

Naga Sadow constructed his own tomb during his brief reign as the Dark Lord, as it was the tradition of the Sith.

Fett's is still amongst THE best, though.

According to my notes from the game, this is corroborated by at least two people, and of course there's the legend of his mystical sword.

But this is probably fated to be one of those as-yet-untold backstories in the SW universe for the moment, at least until Dark Horse or someone else gets around to producing Tales of the Jedi stories once again. [face_laugh]

Some of the party chacters include:
    (...)
    A love interest (Male/Female or Female/Male)
    (...)

Don't know if this was pointed out already by someone, but there's also a Female/Female love interest. If you're playing a female Lightsider (a friend of mine had a male Lightsider with the Light Side points to the maximum and couldn't) you can have a romance with Juhani.

I played through Korriban again, and I have found no one in the Valley of the Dark Lords that say Ajunta Pall was the originator of the Sith, all they talked about was the mystical power of his sword. However, there was some one (the academy instructor) who mentioned that they believed Naga Sadow (lol) was the most powerful of the lords and originator of the Sith, since the Star Map was found inside his tomb. That just goes on showing how much they know about their own history. :p

Just checked my *actual* notes when I got home while ago (didn't have 'em right on hand when I wrote that earlier), and...you're right. It was actually a couple of the Sith Academy headmasters who discuss Pall; I'd misremembered who said it, them or the archaeologists.

Shows what kind of day I'd been having. [face_laugh]

The Sandral/Matale quest has to be one of my favorite parts of the game. That and investigation you do as part of your Jedi trials. I loved when Bioware did that in Neverwinter Nights and it was nice to see again.

Though I really wish I could have played more on Dantonnie that and Taris. I felt kinda bad after meeting all of those people and helping them only to have to both areas destoryed by the Sith.

Has Taris ever appeared in the EU before Knights of the Old Republic or is this its first apperance? The same goes for Korriban and and the planet where you get Kolto from.

The same goes for Korriban and and the planet where you get Kolto from.
[/blockquote]Taris and Manaan are both original planets, designed exclusively for the game (well, "original," if you exclude Aquaris in the case of Manaan [face_wink]).

Korriban is straight out of the Tales of the Jedi comics, and it's a real "geekasm" moment when you behold the Valley of the Dark Lords in all of its glory in the game, after having read these.

And it's quite the shocker when [hl=black]Taris gets annihilated, and the enclave on Dantooine is wiped out...you really feel for the people on each world; they being some real "humanity" to the game, and in many cases you even incoroporate yourself into their personal lives to an extent. It gives the game a shot in the arm of well-earned pathos, and ups the stakes considerably.[/hl]

But on that same note, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Taris, Manaan, and other worlds from the game showing up in "Expanded Universe" material in the future. For my part, I've long been advocating a Tales of the Jedi series depicting the events of the Mandalorian Wars and the Second Sith War from other perspectives, including possibly that of Vima Sunrider and maybe even that of her mother.

Many storytelling opportunities abound with this. They would be wise to take full advantage of them.

    [blockquote]
you can have a romance with Juhani.

Can you get her to kiss you? So I'm a pervert, but lesbians kissing kicks ass.
[/blockquote]It's rather sort of bordering on bestiality, methinks, but if that sort of thing floats your boat...

Nope. It ends with her saying something like "we'll talk about our feelings for each other after all this is over". I'll post the full text here in a few days if I have the patience (and remember I have to do it). :p

Disagreed. She's from another sentient species. ;)
Do you watch anime? She's like a catgirl (the type that has the intelligence equivalent to that of a human. I loved the russian-like way Juhani talked.

(And, yeah, people can date wookiees for all I care, in case you were wondering. :p)

    Ok I am not a gamer ...

But I bought KOTOR, played it straight for like 2 weeks, and just finished it.

F'ing-A, man, what great game! What an amazing plot twist! I honestly didn't see it coming, and in retrospect I feel like an idiot!

Such enthusiasm. Ah! It was bliss.

And chinless Malak was such a great villain. LOVED the Leviathan and the other proto star-destroyers. The Star Forge was so cool looking.

ANd so great to see killer space battles. I can't wait for Ep. 3.

I agree, the Starforge is awe inspiring. Though somehow I can't find the CG movie of its destruction under the movie tap in the main manul. I have finished the game for both light and dark side endings, and I can see other movies like Sith Onslaught, but I can't find the one where the Starforge pluging into the collapsed sun of the Rakatan homeworld.

Just make sure to talk to her a lot. And chose conversation options so that your character can be supportive and a jerk at same time. ;)

Basically you want to be annoyingly cute and playful. When romancing Bastila, just think to yourself, WWHSD? What Would Han Solo Do? ;)

Example: "What is your position in the fleet?"

Response: "I am actually a Hutt in Human form plotting to overthrow the Republic, couldn't you tell?"

Example: "Is it so difficult to believe that I'm trying to apologize?"

Response: "Well, it's just your face is all scrunched up like a Kinrath pup."

Example: "I! You! Why must you be so impossibly infuriating?!"

Response: "Say what you will, you know you love it."

    :D

"Do any TOTJ characters appear in the game?"

Nomi Sunrider, Ulic Qel Droma, Cay Qel Droma, Master Thon and Exar Kun get mentioned, but are never actually seen. Plus we see another relation of Ulic and Cay, the ill fated Durron Qel Droma.
