    - Han and Leia going into Exile sounds plausible, that way they don't need to killed off. Also it works well with a Star Wars-King Arthur (the story not the movie) comparison. Lancelot (Han) also goes into exile. Jacen = Mordred and Luke=King Arthur is more and more obvious.

    - I think Jacen will kill Mara fighting over Ben in Sacrifice.

    - Could Luke be mistaken and the dark haired girl is Zekk?

    - Jacen and his visions seem to be out of sync, i.e the NJO one referring to DN, the DN one to LOTF, and the LOTF one to Legacy? [Cade = Ben ???]

    - It's completely odd that Jacen doesn't think of Tenel Ka and Alana once while he is so obsessed with Alana in DN.

    - Jaina will kill Wedge in a dogfight.

    - Exile could also be Jacen on Ziost

    - His apprentice will be Tahiri (that leads to the Sith Vong in Legacy and refers to Ikrits prophecy hadn't Jaacen and Anakin been swapped)

    - When a lot of worlds secede, the Remnant will become the GA.

One more thing. We all know the saying that the future is always in motion and all that, but sometimes it's ill-defined. I just re-read the part where Jacen peers into the future and witnesses him killing Luke. This reminded me of Mace Windu's shatterpoint ability. In the ROTS novelization, Mace Windu watches as the future of the galaxy goes from between Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Palps to just Anakin and Palps. Some things are set in stone...

What a sneaky book. Looks like the GA will become the new Empire, also indicated by the design of the new Aleph fighter which supposedly looks Imperial and has some of the same characteristics as a TIE (lousy agility).

Wedge is set up as the enxt one to get killed, IMHO. Maybe by Jaina, and that's why Han stabs her in Luke's vision?

This will be the series were the big 3 leave the spotlight. 2 cents on Han lasting the longest (Exile - Drooma guides him some place?).

A lot of the stuff that Lumiya tells about Vergere is a lie, isn't it?

I wouldn't exclude that Jacen and Lumiya met before and will reveal it later.

    Wow.

This book blew me away. The most I've enjoyed a SW book in years. Allston's humour is on top form once again, the plot and characterisation is believable in a way that SW usually just isn't and Allston is a master of writing realistic, Human dialogue. In two minds originally over buying this, I am just overwhelmed by the book's quality, my interest in EU is totally rejuvinated.

Great stuff. Bodes well for the future of Star Wars

Is LFL's "Do not kill" restriction still on the Big Three in LOTF?

How long do they expect to keep them around?

As long as possible, I hope. An EU without Luke, Leia, Han, and also Wedge is more likely than not an EU without me.

Heh, Zekk as the girl in Luke's vision. I forgot he had the long hair. Potentially good call.

I reread the passage with that vision of Luke's (it took me awhile to find it) and I think it's notable, in light of both Luke and Jacen's visions, that the only image Luke is sure actually represents the person it depicts is Leia. He acknowledges that the others could be symbols. It could be that Han's shoving the vibroblade between the ribs of a pretty, dark-haired girl could be a symbol his telling Jaina that her twin had gone Sith. (My only problem with that is that I'd think that Luke would recognize Jaina in the vision.) But the other thing that made that interesting is that Jacen assumed that everytime he saw himself killing Luke, he assumed that it actually meant he literally killed Luke and discounted that it could have been a symbol.

    Darth-Ghost posted:
-Why did the Jedi treat Brisha so well? Following a madwoman to her asteroid home without her being restrained, waiting on her as she relaxed on her couch and took them down the mine. Why did they take a tour of her house, and not be more demmaninding for answers, or have her chained up as she walked around? And why wasn't Jacen more alarmed or worried when she tossed Nelani and Ben out? And after she revealed herself as Lumiya he still trusted her, even knowing her history and that she had just deceived him now. And why weren't any of them more surprised or alarmed when "Brisha" said she knew Vader, or that Luke wanted to kill her? No alarm bells for Jacen when she said there was a Sith in the basement, nothing seemed weird when Brisha said she needed Jacen to face him and that she never had before? Nothing suspicious for Jacen?

Basically the reason for all of this is because Jacen is extremely aggogant and thinks he can handle anything some old lady throws at him. He knew from the beginning he was walking into a trap of sorts, but he had to learn what was going on. He knew that she could turn on him at any second but he just didn't care because he thinks he is all powerful.

Jacen doesn't really like the way Lucke runs thing. So anything that he can do to start his own thing he will do. If it means following Lumiya and becomming a sith lord, he will do it. In that way, he is really arrogant.

I think that what Han says,"I loved you in my own way" gives more insight on who that character is than the physical description (dark-haired girl). You see when I first read that I thought of Tahiri. Especially after Anakin died, Tahiri spent alot time with the solos and I remember Han and Leia talking about loving her.

I really enjoyed the book. Tip top entertainment.

However I thought a couple of the statements made by the tassles were a bit odd.

    The first one was-

He will make (fabricate) a pet.

Right is this about him making an apprentice or is it about him making monsters?

    The second one was-

He will crawl through his cloak.

What does that mean? Plus I hope it wasn't that freshly pressed cloak.

    Does anyone have a theory?

He will crawl through his cloak I thought meant that he would shed his Jacen Solo identity, and become who he was truly meant to be, a sith lord.

And maybe his pet won't be an apprentice but more of a Viqi Shesh type character.

Pet brings to mind the monsters that Sith of old like Exar Kun created. And considering Jacen´s special abilities when it comes to animals, it would be nice to see what he could create with Sith alchemy...

OK that sounds reasonable it's just an odd way to phrase it, especially when just before there is.

He will shed his skin and choose a new skin.

Could the cloak be a "cloak of lies" created by the Jedi that he needs to cast off to achieve his destiny?

As for He will make (fabricate) a pet.

I would like to see him become a monster maker. Although there maybe parallels to Darth Plagieus to.

I'm certainly looking forward to finding out though.

i could definately see the pet tassel reffering to some Sith monsters... perhaps with some help from everyone's favorite biotech using species (by way of Tahiri if she does become his apprentice). especially the fabricate part... if it said "find a pet" i'd say that's more apprentice/helper, but fabricate to me would be Sith alchemy+Vong biotech to make monsters only Jacen can control.

and crawling through his cloak could mean coming out of hiding... no longer sitting in the shadows wearing a cloak to hide his face from Luke and the others, but crawling out of it into the open to challenge his enemies.

I really like the sith monster idea. I didn't know that was even possible, anything about the process I should know about?

And the idea of shedding the lies of the jedi is better then shedding his identity with the "He will shed his skin and choose a new skin," quote right before that.

The "pet" could be the World Brain.

the thing that shocked me the most was that, by the beginning of the book, Jacen was already a Sith. His character didn't change at all, he wasn't forced to make a momentous decision right then and there, no immediate threat if he didn't turn. He just thought she might be right, and decided to try it out. He also happened to have a vision of killing Luke, so he killed Nelani to stop it.

It didn't seem like Jacen turned at all, just discovered what he already was.

When do you think Ben will regain his memory? I think when he remembers, and tells Luke everything, it will cause Jacen's exile from the Jedi. I know he will remember. But when Luke goes to fight Jacen, Artoo reveals the last hologram for Luke, when Padme dies after giving birth and says "There is still good in him. I know... there... is... still..."

    Btw, I'll repost my questions:

Is there any physical description for Lumiya/Brisha in the book? If so, could someone describe her??

She is described with dark hair, very beautiful, nice looking, ordinary but aristocratic.

Anyone else think Han and Leia will be the exiles? After going against the GA in Betrayal, and the Corellians in Tempest?

I think there was some foreshadowing of it, with all the references to Han and Leia being heros and celebrities to the galaxy.

I just had a thought and it makes complete sense to me. Jag's little sister could definately be the one in Luke's dream, especially because chiss involvement towards the end of the series is hinted at, and she is the only character that matches the description with the right age and all. Actually that is mostly why I believe it.

    Description of Lumiya:

"She was about the same age as Ben's parents, at the height of vigorous middle age. She was lean, with well-defined muscles suggesting an active life, and had dark hair, slightly curled, cut short in an easy to maintain hairdo. Her features were fine, and she was attractive."

It later talks about how more than half her body is cybernetic.
