There has to be something more, something wrong, about Eloise Hawking. Whidmore warned against Desmond going to her. Ben killed Locke after just saving her, just because he knew her name. (why?) I'm thinking she is who Ben tried to kill last episode.
I knew this was coming. Ben's been too nice and too "conveniently involved" with everyone to not be up to something sinister. The only reason he convinced John not to kill himself was so that he could get the information John had about how to get back to the island. Once he had that info, John was no longer useful to him. Ben is evil. He killed the entire Dharma Initiative on the island, somehow got Widmore off the island, and took over The Others. Not sure if anyone else noticed this, but the plane crashed on the "other" island that the Hydra station is on. The plane was lying on a runway - the same runway they were building while Kate and Sawyer were captured and were moving the rocks. I almost want to say that was the whole purpose for them building the runway, so that the plane would land safely (as much as possible anyway) and the passengers (John especially) would survive the crash. That's my theory anyway. Oh, and I think both Walt and Desmond are supposed to go back to the island as well.
Yet another good question I have no answer for. The others include how do you please a woman? and how many molecules are in Leonard Nimoy's butt?.
I wanna say Christian is some kind of ghost since he said he couldn't help John up after he broke his leg, but who knows.
He held baby Aaron in "Something Nice Back Home." I'm not convinced when he said "Sorry, I can't" (help John up) that he meant he physically couldn't as much as it was up to John to do it himself because he had to do it himself.
True. But he still shows up pretty much everywhere: in the cabin, down at the wheel in the 70's, in Jack's office, etc.
Oh, I agree that Christian is dead and is appearing as a "ghost." I'm just saying it doesn't prevent him from interacting with the physical world.
I'll admit I was lured into a false sense of security, but I think it's still as simple as Ben being the bad guy.
Yeah I'm not sold on Widmore either. The only one I think of as a 'good guy' on the Other's side would be Richard.
Is anyone else sick of stories being told in reverse (they're on the island, let's find out how, they're off the island, let's find out how)? If you know what's going happen, then that takes all the drama out of the story, amirite? Can we go back to chronological order? Please?
That method worked so well in season 4, though. It's like knowing how a jigsaw puzzle is supposed to look, but you don't know how all the pieces fit together. For example, at the end of "There's No Place Like Home Part 1," we knew the Oceanic 6 got off the island, but they were all in different places: Sun and Aaron on the freighter, Kate and Sayid captured by Richard, Hurley hanging out with Ben and Locke, and Jack going off to the rescue. Not to mention that we didn't know exactly what the circumstances were that led them to escape, plus the predicament of not knowing whether Jin would live or die, or why Sawyer and the others had to be left behind.
I was thinking that with '316', it worked better with this episode though. Open with a shocker and you know there's gotta be something good at the end too.
I'm not sure Ben is a bad guy. There are two things about it that seem to bother me. First, as you all pointed out, Richard seems to qualify as a "good guy" insofar as he doesn't act out of self-interest. But one has to wonder why he would then give his blessing to both Locke and Ben. Secondly, I don't think Ben was initially planning to kill Locke when he entered the hotel room. At least to me, it looked like he recognized the name Hawking, but thought there was something particularly dangerous about Locke going to her. She also seemed pretty comfortable with Ben when they went to visit her last week. So based on that, it does seem like he may have been trying to protect her. As for what sort of threat Locke might have posed, though, I'm clueless.
I'm still thinking that there's more to Ben's side of the story. I'm not set on him being the bad guy yet.
well crap. abc wasn't working on my tv for some reason(or my sisters, or my cousins) All I was getting was black. That's it. And then the show randomly started in the middle of the episode, twenty minutes into it about 5 minutes ago. So I turned off the tv. I am NOT watching an episode without seeing the beginning! guess I'm waiting to see this one for another week.
I'm not sure I'm set on the direction their taking with the whole love triangle thing. It's taking away from the actual plot a bit.
