Thank you, Jeff. For the record, I don't care about any of this. I think I represent most of this forum's users when I say that
none of this has any bearing one way or the other. BYOB is not someone we take too seriously , and I highly doubt that anyone would take his opinions as fact and adopt them as their own. I know very little about the 501st, other than what I've read in the SW Insider, and from what I gleaned at C2. All of it was very positive. I didn't attend Filmcon, so I can't speak to that situation, and I really don't care to. Nobody went on and on about either strange events at Filmcon or 501st- bashing in this forum, so I recommend that the topic gets dropped here and now. If someone is taking something personal, don't subject everyone else to it--use email or pms, but stay out of these forums with that kind of inflammatory crap. I'm not going to sit here and watch the "us" and "them" game play out--there are other avenues for that.

Sorry Jeff but I have to add this because well I feel it's necessary. I agree with Catie and I agree with Dwayne. No one needs to go anywhere calling people names that includes BYOB calling the 501st names and one of 501st calling BYOB names.

The entire event in question was riddled with amazingly lack of good sense on both sides. Now I don't know the other side but I do know BYOB well enough to know that with amazing frequency he does amazingly stupid and sometimes outright offensive things. For whatever reason, probably just to see if he can get away with it or because he thinks it's funny or he just likes to get a rise out of people. So be it. It's a known and most of us have witnessed it. He's done it other groups and he's done it to members of ours. Incidence and events we don't need to bring back up to the forefront.

What Dwayne is saying is that up until now we've rallied around BYOB when he tee'd off and got banned and for a host of things. Well, I think the point is this. Tom..if you want to keep doing what you're doing fine. But I know for a fact we're going to leave you hanging out there to take care of your own messes. Don't expect that we're going to keep rallying around you when you haven't the good sense to just stop. Now I'm fully aware that you're going to say that you don't expect us to stick up for you but it's what's friends do for each other. It's also the responsiblity of friends to tell you when you've behaved like an a--hole. That's what this is about. The game is worn thin. I'm not speaking for anyone else in this group. I'm reiterating what Dwayne said and I'm speaking for myself.

This isn't about the 501st and it isn't about name calling or whatever. Tom posted his remarks in a public forum which gives 501st guy the same medium with which to respond. If Tom didn't want him to respond well then he shouldn't have said it on the boards. Deal with it Tom. Because I know for one I'm tired of it.

Okay, I think for the first time I'm gonna be all official here. Knock it off, everyone. This is ridiculous and it doesn't need to go any further, so let's not take it there.

Listen to Bishop, knock this name calling and trash talking off. This is not the place for it, nor will it ever be. Granted both sides have issues with each other, but this is something that should of been dealt with in private.

Duffy737, you are banned for 48 hours for flaming BYOB, when your ban is done I do not want to see you come in this forum again unless you (a)can be civil and discuss this without swearing and flaming or (b)have something constructive you want to add to this forum.

BYOB_Kenobi you are dangerously close to being Perm Banned from the message boards. I would advise you think before you post. If you have a problem with someone handle it privately or go to Bobafemme or another RSA. You are also being banned for 1 month for your comments on 1/23/03.

And a side note, if you guys want a banner made for this forum go to the FanArt forum and ask for someone to make you one. They pump out some sweet work.

Ok, 'nother subject. Does anyone want an Anakin Skywalker model podracer(the kind that you assemble)? If so, let me know. I'm willing to let it go for really cheap...free. Nothing wrong w/it just models aren't really my thing.

 

Cally has been banned for that, and based on my own previous experience (no comment), she had it coming. I would recommend to my fellow Milwookies that you relay all hostile responses via private message. No sense exposing the innocent to that kind of stuff.

Agreed. However, please keep in mind that a flame over PM will get you in trouble just as fast as a flame on the boards.

 

This is an unfortunate black eye for the Milwookiee Council, with enough blame and bans to go around. Rather spending my day rereading and gutting this thread with everything that's needed to be edited out, I'm closing it. Feel free to start a new social thread at your leisure.
