What changes has "champion" O'Neal made to his game since he came into the league? Drop step, throw shoulder, dunk. Sure looks like the same move.

Same move that no one can stop, as soon as someone is able to stop him, he'll get more moves.

    Geaux LSU Tigers!

Thank you for proving my point.

I thought it was hilarious when for a couple of games they actually called fouls on Shaq for throwing his shoulder everytime he made a move. Then he got all pissed and cried and the refs quit calling it again. Typical NBA, keep the stars happy, no matter that what they do is illegal.

So why should he have change something that's working to suit you? The Champion O'Neal has nothing to do with your conspiracy theories on the league and is too busy winning titles and Finals MVP awards to give a hoot about it.

Anyway, is this thread just going to be another place to bash O'Neal the Lakers for a select few or are people actually going to discuss the season in front of them? Afterall, O'Neal hasn't even been on the court yet.

I was simply stating that the current state of the league is a shame with all they let the stars get away with. O'Neal is one of the biggest culprits but by no means the only one. Sorry you Lakers fans can't take some criticism for the lack of talent he displays on the court, not to mention his acting and singing careers.

So is Kobe finally taking to the team concept? The headline one day last week at ESPN was "Uncoachable" with Kobe's picture under it. I think it finally woke him up from what he had been doing the first two games of the season. He's played very well since then, piling up two triple-doubles. I think it's funny that he would go against Phil and Tex with all of the rings they've earned. Guess he learned his lesson.

I bet somebody got wet when they saw that headline.

Unfortunately, 3 straight titles wipes out any of your arguements.

Hill is hurt AGAIN?!?! So much for the big return, again. Hope he is ok.

What changes has "champion" O'Neal made to his game since he came into the league? Drop step, throw shoulder, dunk. Sure looks like the same move.

For somebody who seems to demonstrate a fairly good knowledge of hoops, your statement is a little ignorant. If Shaq is such a one trick pony, you'd think SOMEBODY in the ENTIRE NBA would figure out a way to stop him, instead of getting beat down by one of the most basic moves in the history of sport. I dunno, maybe play a little defense? Don't even start crying about the refs, Shaq gets hosed on calls just as many times as he gets them. So being huge is now a foul?

Kobe, 2 triple doubles in a row. Nice. Can't wait for Mr. One Move Shaq and Mr. King Beater Fox to return to the lineup.

BTW, Shaq actually has TWO moves, don't forget his spin and hook shot.

Yes, teams have found a way to stop it. It's called get in defensive position and stand there. Then Shaq throws the shoulder, gets the dunk and way too often a foul on the defender. How do you stop that? Foul him and he cries about people fouling him all the time.

And now you stand up for Rick Fox. No reply needed there. Don't try to beat me up in the tunnel, please.

Where did he stand up for Fox and what he did? You're delusional when it comes to anyone mentioning the Lakers at all. Not surprising when you manipulate that every mention into something you can use against them.

And newsflash, the Lakers and Kings aren't the only teams to have had a fight on the court. And it does take two to fight.

But who cares!!?!?! The Lakers were involved.

    Mr. King Beater Fox

You're right, he probably meant that some other way...

Well, tbe Bulls turned in a strong performance again tonight verus the Raptors losing in OT 109-105. Didn't see the game but I see by the box score that the Bulls outscored the Raptors by 18 in the fourth. The two kids (Chandler and Curry) don't seem to be getting very many minutes like I thought they would get this season. I did see that Curry had 11 points in 12 minutes tonight.

Nets improved to 4-0. Are they the best team in the East?

[color=336699]Go Clippers! (HeHe) I just wanted to say that cause I still support that piece of cr*p team
    ;)

Here are some other teams I am watching closely this year:

    * 76er's
    * Mavericks
    * Magic

They look pretty good this year (maybe not statistically) so I am gonna follow them a bit more closely
    :)

Spurs beat the Grizzlies in overtime. Spurs seem to be struggling a bit early in the season. How long will Sidney Lowe last with Jerry West in town if the Grizz keep losing?

I saw an interview with Grant Hill on PTI this evening. He says that his sitting out the second half the other night was purely precautionary. They had a blowout and TMac was playing well so they decided it was a good time to get him a rest. I hope that is the case and that ankle isn't going to be a problem. Magic are looking very good early this season with TMac and Hill in the lineup.

Foul him and he cries about people fouling him all the time.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again. Shaq gets fouled WAY more times than he commits a foul. If you can't see that, you're blind.

[face_laugh] Try reading the WHOLE post before replying next time.

Anyone want to talk about the current NBA season?

Raef LaFrentz is out 3-6 weeks. Think this will hurt the Mavs defense at all? :D

I've been reading through the SI NBA Preview issue and got to the Rockets last night. They have Yao Ming with a Player Value Ranking (some complex formula THEY probably can't explain) ranked in the top 50 in the NBA (44 or something). That seems awfully high for a rookie who's only played a couple of preseason games.

Why don't you go back a page or so and see where I INITIALLY stood up for Rick Fox, not like I Ddid so all of a sudden. Rick Fox is on my favorite team, of course I'm going to defend him. Ask me if I think Doug Christie had it coming?

I thought this crap with the sissy Lakers was done but you guys have to keep bringing it back up. Let it die. Last comment on this...

Rick Fox is on my favorite team, of course I'm going to defend him. Ask me if I think Doug Christie had it coming?

You're telling me that because Rick Fox plays for the Lakers that you think jumping someone in the tunnel is okay? Woah.

How pathetic is it that because of the team someone plays for their actions are justified in some people's minds? This doesn't just apply to this situation since it permeates all of sports today. I'm sure Kings fans would say that Fox had it coming and see Christie as doing no wrong. That's not right. That's not what I want my son to see as he grows up.

Now how about some REAL NBA discussion.

Magic beat the Kings tonight 125-121. In regulation. Can't wait til that first Mavs-Kings game. Could it be a 300 total point game?

Kobe ends up 1 assist shy of his third straight triple-double but the Lakers still lose to... the Cavs? They must have the LA teams number this season or something. Held the Lakers to a franchise low 70 points. Cavs have won 2 more games this season that I thought they would at this point. How they gonna get LeBron this way?

The Vlade flop. The Dikembe elbows. And don't tell me Jordan never got a 50/50 call go his way in his time.

This whole Fox hate thing you've got going is irrational. So what if he wanted to go on with it? You must really hate the Bulls for what they did with the Knicks in the 90s. Some of those brawls were disgusting in comparison to a one on one matchup that didn't even eventuate in the tunnel. You said it yourself, he wanted to go on with it. He copped the fair punishment and has moved on. Why can't you?

Bryant had an ordinary game today. Almost a triple double again, but I suppose the headline tomorrow should be "Uncoachable" yet again. Lakers lose to the Cavs.

Kings lost to the Magic. McGrady again with 40+ points. Looks like an early tip for MVP there.

Atlanta are giving it to Denver right now. Is Camby going to be back at all?

Won't comment since I said the above was my last. Please no more Lakers-Kings crap here, keep it to NBA discussion of the current NBA season. That was preseason anyway.

    BTW, you're wrong. ;)

I think Hill has made McGrady a much more dangerous player. As TMac himself was saying, he doesn't have to guard the other team's top guy and worry about handling the scoring load. If they can't get some consistent play out of there power forwards and centers, they will be tough.

EDIT: BTW, anyone think ESPN's NBA coverage rocks? They're doing a heck of a job with their coverage. The Fastbreak show that's on now has been supplying great coverage of all of the games going on.

OK, maybe you are moving on with it. But I still reckon the punishments were fair for what it was but I will still think Christie started it with the ball throwing.

Well i tipped the Magic and I hope they get some success with this lineup. They probably just need another big guy. Maybe they can trade for Mutombo next year.

Just cut the BS people. Some of you probably know who I root for, but this is just plain boring. And Tobey, a tip for you, if you want to avoid a topic, don't start the thread with a post that begs for these useless arguments. You, of all people, have mentioned the Lakers more than anyone else.

I appreciate the game more and more. I don't think it's necessary because I've watched more games, but because all those whom I was first familiar with are either out of the game, or gradually losing it. So before we get into obviously hopeless arguments, how about remembering this is David F-ing Robinson's last season and enjoy every time he gives the big rejection?

Hey, thanks for bringing it up again after it was agreed to let it die.

What's with the Wizards this season? They look awful one night and like world beaters the next. Jordan's numbers have been pretty inconsistent as well. I wonder how much longer he'll come off the bench if the level of his and his team's play stay so inconsistent.

GP dropped 18 assists last night. Quick poll:

    Is Gary Payton:
    A) Auditioning for teams to be traded to
    B) Auditioning for free agency next summer
    C) Showing the Sonics how badly they need to sign him
    D) All of the above

My gut feeling is B because of the way the Sonics are handling the situation at this point.
