    Good:

Mace and Yoda were perfect. Mace definitely deserved the honor of killing Jango. Yoda was just awesome. Nothing at all bad about the Dooku/Yoda fight. We saw more of the Yoda from ESB in the Youngling scene.

This movie had time for good dialogue. The instances with classic SW humor were excellent.

Padme was great. I can't really comment on her acting because I was blinded by her hotness.

Boba Fett's origin story was well done, especially the shot with Jango's helmet.

R2-D2 and C-3PO were great. R2 was just a little devil and C-3PO's comments, while lame, were still enough for a mental laugh.

    Bad:

Anakin/Tusken fight scene should've been longer. This was a lost opportunity.

The term "Master Jedi" just got annoying, especially since I've never heard it before.

Often the dialogue was bad, especially during the love scenes. However, it wasn't anywhere near TPM bad.

Anakin's unrest in bed could've been portrayed better.

The whole Lars thing felt rushed. I felt no sympathy for Cliegg, Owen, or Beru until I read the novel.

The whole Dexter's Diner scene was kind of unecessary. Similarly the Jocasta Nu scene made both Nu and Kenobi look stupid.

    Ugly:

Jar Jar is basically the cause for the creation of the Empire.

Seeing the Death Star designs was totally unecessary. It detracted from the story.

    Boba was following the law.

The corrupted law of a totalitarian regime.

Woo..hoo.. look at the moral superiority.

JMA: When? He was very straightforward with Obi-Wan.

At the cloning facility. Everyone there knew what the clones were for. He would have found out, even if he hadn?t been told directly.

If Jango didn?t know, then the guy who plaid him did a bad acting job, because he definitely looked like he was lying to me. (and again, this would show the character?s stupidity)

This is all just a matter of opinion. He was either too stupid to be worth the biomass he took up, or he was a traitor. Either way, I don?t feel sorry that he?s gone.

    Wow, awesome movie!

I'm really impressed with what Lucas pulled off, definately better than ANH in pacing and plot. The only scene that suffered from "very" bad dialoge was the scene by the fireplace at Naboo. The rest was great, even the spring frolicking!

The Tusken slaughter and aftermath ruled! I felt so bad for Anakin! He's got all this power, emotions he can't control, he's got the burden of the Chosen One on him, his teacher isn't helping (really shows Obi-Wan's shortcomings in training IMO, makes the scene in ROTJ make alot more sense) and his mother just died in his arms after being tortured. It was almost, almost justifiable. It was really funny because every one in the theater was cheering for Anakin during the slaughter! That was cool. The audience was behaved for the most part, they went wild (me included) for the arena battle and final duel.

    A...A...Are...Arena battle is gooooood... :D

Serriously, that was quite frankly the best Star Wars land battle EVER. Jedi rock hardcore! The Clones/Droid battle was too short and I thought and didn't really show what the AT-TE's could do. That was the only bummer.

I thought the scene with Anakin and Padme confessing their love to each other before the execution and then being brought out to be executed just took my breath away. I don't know why, it's just that at that moment I was screaming inside "Star Wars is back baby!" It was one of the best single Star Wars moments ever. I'm serrious.

The final duel, or duels, were amazing! They could have been a bit longer, but all three fighters were incredible in their fighting skill, speed and strength. A pity they went up against a Sith that made Darth Maul look like a kindergardener.

Yoda and Mace are the ****. Nuff said. :D

Go see this movie, you won't be disapointed. It's the same kind of feeling you get when you watch the first trilogy. I didn't get it for The Phantom Menace although I liked it. This time around, it was a true Star Wars experience, what more could you want?

Anakin with two sabers for 5 seconds, Yoda hopping around like a bunny on acid for 1 minute. Where is the justice?

"Yoda hopping around like a bunny on acid." [face_laugh]

I've seen it twice now. Tomorrow I see it again. :)

My favorite scenes are, I think definitively the Coruscant chase (yeah, I really LOVE Coruscant) and Yoda fighting. ;)

And Sithy Mother of Palpatine I love the "sound" of the sismic charges. :)

So much tedious dialogue. Not enough fighting. They have 2 incredible armies, droid and clone. All I wanted was a good hour of fighting between them, not the miniscule amount they showed. Hopefully there will be alot more fighting in the next and a lot lees crap romance scenes. I understand they need to build plot but it was a little excessive.

It was an somewhat better than average movie. Not as good as the origionals but far above Episode 1.

Uh, an hour battle? You're kidding right?

That's way too much even for Star Wars. There wouldn't even be time for a plot! Let alone a romance! This is the most action packed SW yet, be thankful for what you have.

I will not be able to see AoTC until June 21 but, since I am already spoiled rotten by the internet, I thought I´d share this comment made by Scott Kurtz, creator of an online comic called PvP online which regularly features SW topics. It made a lot of sense to me in the middle of all the bashings this movie seems to be getting.

"So let me give you my non-review of ATTACK OF THE CLONES. I call it a non-review because I have no desire to discuss the merits of this movie, discuss one character or plot point. This isn't a movie, it's Star Wars. You can't watch it in a vaccuum. It comes with 25 years of baggage with it.

If you love Star Wars, you'll love ATTACK OF THE CLONES.

I do want to share with you a little ephiphany I had last week, as three of my friends and I were arguing vehemetly about whether or not PHANTOM MENACE was a good movie.

I'm tired of talking about Star Wars. I'm exhausted. The debates, the arguments, the speculating, the spoilers, all of it. Somwhere between RETURN OF THE JEDI, and THE PHANTOM MENACE, I stopped loving Star Wars and started loving "being a star wars fan."

Somewhere between the late 80's and now, it became more important to talk about the movies, speculate and philosophize about the mythos, than to just like the movies themselves. Somewhere along the line, I stopped loving STAR WARS and just started loving being a geek about Star Wars.

I was one of those people who felt hurt by THE PHANTOM MENACE. I was one of those guys screaming about how Lucas "raped my childhood." I'm one of those guys who has spent the last three years debating the issue with all my other geek friends.

Last night, sitting in that theatre, waiting for five hours to see a movie, I think I finally came to my senses. PHANTOM MENACE didn't destroy Star Wars. PHANTOM MENACE made me realize how silly I am for putting such an intense importance on a series of movies. MENACE didn't make me hate Star Wars, It made me hate being a Star Wars Fanatic.

Luckily, George Lucas gives us fanatics everything that we want in CLONES. Absent are any mention midichlorians or virgin births. All the cheesy lines are delivered by the droid we grew up with rather than a new CGI created character.

It really feels as if this time around, Lucas had at least one person holding him back and reminding him not to do anything that might upset us zombies.

So my non-review of CLONES is a message to all you fellow fanatics out there. Take it or leave it, I really feel it's the truth.

If you don't like ATTACK OF THE CLONES, you have no one to blame but yourself. George Lucas didn't ruin Star Wars for us. I think we ruined it for him."

    Hot diggity damn.

Wow. I mean, apart from Binary (don't worry, we still luv ya! 8-} ;)), many, many of the bashers over on The Phantom Menace boards are now officially Attack of the Clones gushers.

I'm talkin' about the likes of TrueJedi, AgentCoop, and -- wow -- even hawk, who now love the new chapter. Can't wait to see this puppy now (Salon.com be damned...).

    i LOVED it. Here's why....

Graphics: Amazing. Everything i expected and more.

Acting: Ewan was flawless. yes, he does embody obi-won. Natalie did well, not spectacular, but well. How Palapatine plays the Republic is amazing. Hayden did well, at first he was a little slow, but he did come out well in the end. Sam L. did very well. I was very pleased with the role Yoda played (but i did not like the fact he commanded the clone army, thats what generals are for, not philosophers IMO) o yea, and Dooku, loved him, he needs more screen time (he's Gandalf, what do you expect? :) )

Planets: All were great. Courscant was very well done. It reminded me of Parisian nightlife. Naboo was beautiful, like a warmer switz :p. Tatooine was what it always was, so nothing new there. My person favoirte, Kamino, was amazing. i loved the "tsunami" kind of waves and storms. geonosis was alright, but it reminded me too much of the grand canyon lol, but it was cool.

Action Sequences: Best ever. Arena battle took the cake in my mind. Seeing those shots of all the jedi lighting up their sabres gave me chills. All three Dooku fights were cool, even though i would have loved to see anakin fight with 2 lightsabres a LITTLE longer. In the beginning he looked badass usuing them in that flowing manner. And yoda, i don't need to re-iterate how great that was. Zam Wessell was pretty good, i liked the ending of that chase very much. The Obi-Won Jango fight scene was very well done, and was on the brink of being break, if it had gone on a little bit longer. Windu killing Jango was really cool, he pulled out some new moves that i had not scene before (like legolas with the arrow in LOTR). Seeing Boba holding jango's helmet gives me the impression there will be a revenge attempt in EP III.

Love Scenes: Kind of shallow until the end. the scene right before the arena was perfectly done, couldn;'t have been better. yes it was a surprise how padme just came out like that, but it makes sense to me. the early love scenes were alright, but then again, these 2 are fighting and are torn between choices, its not SUPPOSED to make sense. Love doesn't make sense sometimes, and they just didn't know what to do. it makes perfect sense to me.

anyway...i would give it an A-, the minus being the slow character development of Anakin.

P.S.: i have to say this. there were these drunk guys behind me, and when anakin was thrown to the side by dooku with force lightening, one dude goes "[explicative deleted] OFF NOVICE!!" that is classic :))

    Saw it today. Wow!!

Padme - What can I say. Exquisite to sexy, depending on her clothes. There's no doubt that in terms of physical beauty she's Leia's mother and Jaina's grandmother.

Anakin - The tragic hero. Torn between his duty and his dreams. He probably promised himself that upon being made a Jedi Knight or sensing his mother was in danger, he'd go and rescue her, with or without the Council's permission. What he did to the Tuskens, while understandable, was wrong. The seeds of darkness have been planted.

Obi-Wan - Beginning to see signs that he's not properly addressing Anakin's problems.

Battles - Yes!! Finally a chance to see Jedi in decent action, and I'm not talking about one-on-one or two-on-one. I bought the book, but other obligations made it impossible for me to have read it yet. I do know that Anakin doubted Yoda's ability to fight. If Anakin saw how Yoda fared against Count Dooku, then all doubts have been silenced.

Music - Appropriate music. Nice linkage. Music from Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan/Darth Maul fight played during Anakin's trek across Tatooine. Music of the Empire being played at times - indicating the comings of the Empire.

Jar-Jar - As strange as this might sound, nice to see him again. Thought he played the role of a likeable buffoon in TPM. Those of you who are saying he's responsible for the Empire - stop and keep in mind the following. Padme called for the no-confidence vote in TPM. Jar-Jar gave the speech to create the Grand Army. Both did what they felt was the right thing to do.

Possible Episode III spoiler - Anybody get the feeling that we'll be seeing a rematch between Count Dooku and Anakin after Anakin becomes Darth Vader?

Thats one of the things, lots of people complain about the love scene but I will tell you a little story.

I have two friends (who are no longer friends) who liked the same girl, unfortunatly for my good friend (my roomate at the time) the other guy had the girlfriend. Now my roomate and this girl started really liking each other, but because my roomate was the best friend of my other friend he was always acting weird and doing stuff with the girl when not around the other guy, and she wasnt sure exactly what to do because she liked both my roomate and my other friend.

In this movie i was sitting there and thinking that for how they acted it was much like this situation, where the jedi order and the republic were the original boy friend, and Anakin was my roomate trying to figure out how to express his feelings for a girl he can feel a connection too.

in that context to me it made perfect sense.

ofc in my real life situation neither got the girl because she couldnt take the stress of being torn between the two, but hey thats what star wars is going to end up like too!

The funniest moments were the unintentional ones. The part when Padme and Anakin are having a "roll in the hay," some guy made a lightsaber igniting sound. The whole audience started cracking up, as they did when poor Natalie's trying to have a serious conversation, but her nipples are taking center stage.

    Okay, guys!

I just got back from seeing Episode II! My brother, who is so not a Star Wars fan, says it was the best SW movie he's ever seen! [face_laugh]

It was awesome! Yoda and Anakin rule!
Christensen was an awesome Anakin! Portman was kinda'....eh...at some parts. The love story was a lot more rushed then it was in the novel, and even kind of abrupt on Padme's part... [face_plain]

Christensen was awesome, though! Even I could have fallen for him! Err...if he was a girl, of course. :D

    I noticed Portman's nipples, too!

When Tyranus was signalling the droids to destroy the remaining Jedi, some kid in the audience shouted, "NOOOO!"
    It was so awesome! [face_laugh]

    Edit:

Okay, I've cooled down at last. :)
Christensen's acting was superb, in my opinion. He was so alluring an enticing. When Shmi died, his lines, how he begged her to stay with him...*sniff* I had to blink back tears! :_|

And when he lifted his gaze, his eyes filled with anger...man, he's awesome...so captivating, in my opinion...*whistful sigh* [face_love]

The scene where he tells Padme about slaying the Tusken Raiders, their children and stuff...I think he conveys emotions wonderfully. He was...so...so very inticing. *sighs again* [face_love]

As for Portman...Um, I guess her nipples and buttocks were kind of inticing, too. ;) :p

I was really hoping that they'd include Padme's family. It would have done wonders for the love story. *shakes head*
I think the movie suffers from "not enough", y'know? Not enough story.
If it would have included the scenes from the novel, it would have been so much better, in my opinion.

Question: Who's the better fighter? Maul or Dooku?

All in all, I give it about 8/10. :)

Ewan McGregor was great...I loved the line in the bar "You don't want to sell deathsticks to me. You want to go home and reconsider your life."
    I loved that. :D
Man, I had a boring audience...we laughed right before the Yoda/Dooku scene...because it was just so funny to see Yoda's shadow and see him come in, but that was pretty much it...no lightsaber sound effects at all.
Other than, that I thouroughly enjoyed it.
