Actually I think Goonies in space could be fun and lately Star Wars missed out on the “fun” part a little too much.

 

How about this idea?
The crew members are dead, but appear to us as Force Ghosts. In actuality, they're a bunch of skeletons walking around, reanimated by The Force, and are seen as such by those who are not Force sensitive. You have the option of changing the show's viewing setting in order to watch in skeleton mode, aka skelevision. (Or, you wear a special pair of glasses.)
I have an anatomy book that comes with three different colored lenses that allow you to filter out various layers of the human body.... skeleton, muscles, and organs.

From the details so far it seems pretty good as well.

 

Bespinbulletin dosent think Skeleton Crew will come out before Spring or next fall as no marketing was arranged yet.

I read through it. He basically has not heard anything concrete. And what he has heard is contradicting

but don’t expect Skeleton crew in January.

his Acolyte being released in August is purely conjecture on his part. Does not seem to be based on a source.

According to the guidelines for the distribution of goods related to the series found in open sources. Skeleton Crew products will begin appearing on store shelves in May 2024.

 

Makes sense, as I think shooting had wrapped prior to the strikes?

 

On my birthday month

 

There’s a very specific tone to Star Wars that I prefer that the Lucas/Filoni side of the universe nails: and gritty universe where you might have your organs sold on the black market if you walk into the wrong neighborhood, but with whimsical characters who shine through that. To quote Werner Herzog: “I see nothing but death and chaos. I want to see the baby.”

Empire Strikes Back was this bleak movie about the overwhelming force of fascism, bodily dismemberment, and the cosmic horrors of the unknown (space slugs, wampas, dark side caves) but then kind of gives you a warm hug at the end with the final shot of characters who care about each other on the medical frigate together with the John Williams score playing. That’s like the heart of the franchise to me.

I don’t wanna get into it but there’s some other recent projects that in my opinion have a more watered down galaxy (where the main/only threat to our heroes is fascism and we are given repeated reassuring speeches saying that light will prevail) so I welcome the idea of Skeleton Crew being scarier.

 

They may wanna wait until after the new version of ATLA drops on Netflix in February.

 

I think this show will be good

 

I find it weird that there's an expectation that "kids today" (get off my lawn!) need a show about characters their own age in order to get interested in something, whereas 70's kids got into Star Wars just fine despite Luke/Han/Leia being not their own age.

 

^ It's as if show creators learned nothing from audience reactions to Wesley Crusher.

 

Or Obi-Wan Kenobi, a 60 year old character the story revolves around and became such a massive favourite long before Ewen McGregor picked up a lightsaber.

there was literally no kids in the first 3 Star Wars movies. Minus the Ewoks. And you can’t even tell which ones are kids and adults.

no kids can like things without kids being involved.

I know it had nothing to do with a kid being the main character of TCW. Don’t make shows because you think it will get this audience to like your product better make shows because you think the story is good. The story should attract the fans. IE Andor, Mando the two highest acclaimed original content Disney has produced with the brand.


Make good stories. The money will come. The money will come regardless but more money
