So did the entire plot leak yet? I have tuned out completely for a while. Can they actually keep their mouth shut this time or did someone already "soil themselves" ?

 

I'll take your word on the first, but as for the second - the song is Black Thunder and it is one of many songs about Mongolian history by the Hu:


They did release a Huttese version of the song for the game at around the same time that the Mongolian version came out, but it still exists in an earth language that was translated into the fictional language to fit into star wars, which is what is happening in Skeleton Crew as well.

Main difference is a larger gap between versions and the Skeleton Crew one being more widely known, at least for English speaking audiences

Surprisingly, no real leaks this time. Heck, I haven't seen any fake plot leaks out there, now that you mention it.

Well, there was an old one, but even that was for the basic premise and was wrong on key points.

 

That's impressive. I wonder if the silence is because interest in SW has dwindled or LucasFilm finally made some changes to how they do things.

 

I’m pleased with the earlier release date but I’m a little confused about the reason. All the marketing was Dec 3 for so long and then it changed to Dec 2nd less than a week out. What do they gain by having it released one day earlier after such a long delay from production’s wrap to now.
IIRC, a couple other SW Disney+ shows also changed premiere dates fairly late in the game.

 

In one of promos kids were playing a lightsaber duel, wonder if they will mention the Sith at one point, maybe even a specific one from the time of the Old Republic.

 

Well they are meant to be cut off from the galaxy and no one has heard of their planet. So any jedi or sith mentions will probably be more myth.

 

Well, guys like Revan and Exar Kun are probably myths for the majority of the galaxy, not only for isolated planets.

 

To get in the mood, I'm rewatching TCW: The Gathering. LFL does love to put children in danger. However, Vane is no Darth Vader. He's already shown himself to be a coward. I'm fairly certain, or hope, there is a better villain in this Amblinesque story. I do find in watching the trailers, something of the feeling my 14 year old self had in lining up for SW. I'm not looking for a deeper meaning of the Force or Imperial Remmant politics, just adventure.

 

I'm sure the series will be shat on because it's largely kid-driven, but I think kids will in fact enjoy it. Honestly it "looks" like what my generation would have loved to have seen back in the 80s or 90s. Instead we only had the forgetful Ewok TV movies, and let me tell you, I watched them on VHS a couple times around 1986 and forgot them QUICK.

 

Although many of the Ewok movies ideas (Blurgg, Witches) went on to other media.

I'm excited for this show as finally I get to watch a live action show with my son and not have to preview it first for violence. I think this will get the PG rating correct?
No big leaks but I'd have to say that At Atlin will be a mirror dimension of Earth in how we are cut off from the rest of the galaxy and what's really going on. These kids minds will be blown. Who doesn't love pirates? Anyone feel as if these kids will be the reason Ahsoka makes it back to the GFFA? Time for a good, classic, Amblin/Lucasfilm adventure. Who's along for this ride? I've got my Jod Na Nawood figure and I'm ready.

 

The main thing that worries me about this show is that Vane character who I couldn’t stand in Mando S3. I mean, why would they carry over such a lame villain to this show? Hopefully he’s just a minor character again.

 

Wonder if there will be no clear main villain, more akin to Treasure Planet - with Brutus being like Scroop, the most active threat in the middle of the plot (and Israel Hands expy), but the final confrontation will be between kids and Jod.

 

Never saw that movie, but sure, why not?

 

Especially since at this point Treasure Planet is rather widely considered to be one of the best Disney's animated films from 2000s (on par with Atlantis: The Lost Empire), so taking inspiration from it seems like a safe strategy.

There is lots of great Mongolian music, including metal and ethnic Mongolian/ Altaic music from outside Mongolia proper (including Tuvan from eastern Russia and northern Mongolia), that rocks. The Hu are pretty cool, but IMO there’s stuff that’s better. Alash, for example, a Tuvan throat-singing band, is crazy good.

 

The Hu have a great name. I first heard them mentioned on the radio and thought the DJ was really confused. “What?! That was not The Who.”

 

There was also this bit of throat singing in the Denny's commercial to promote Solo.

Spoiler
