While I am definately going commando (in the game), I am also loooking into both bounty hunter just n case and also squad leader. I am going to seriously consider these only if when I finally make both commando master and teras kasi maseter and find that they are not as effective as i invision them to be combined.

By the way last night, I killed 4 pc rebels on dathomir.......YAY for galaxies!!!!

The Imp Scoutrooper in front of the palace on theed: I talked to him, he wanted me to do recon. It's a really far run, and there was some rebels there. As I approached the waypoint, it said my mission was done, and to go back for my reward. I did not kill the rebels, or whoever they were. I just ran back, and he gave me some cash.

The end. I wonder if it would have ended differently if I killed the people out there, and then ran back to talk to the scouttrooper.

Thats all there is to it for a recon mission. I did that one in fact. It was too much running for the money to be worth it though and didn't even get any faction points. By the way, I've been trying to bring my thug faction up by killing poor townsfolk, but its doesn't affect any of my factions. Besides Imp/rebel, is anyone getting changes in faction points for anything? I think it might be bugged since I killed a Jawa and didn't get my jawa faction lowered. Anyone else experiencing this?

I hit Dance Knowledge 3 last night and now I have the dance known as Lyrical (an awesome kinda hawaiian/bellydance mix) I will never use poplock again!

Oh yes, I will be Master Dancer.

I also had people go buy me stuff for the first time last night, some jewelry and a furcoat.

Today I discovered the coords for imperial mission terminals on Corellia, havent verified these yet though

    Kiting on Dathomir:

Here's a few tips that I learned tonight while soloing on Dathomir.

    1. On missions, attack one mob at a time. (duh!) Stay far back (55m) and hit him with your best DoT (bleed) shot. Then when the mob starts charging, run backwards and slam your warningshot on him untill it runs away. Eventually he'll come back, so keep shooting him with /warningshot. This is called Kiting.

    2. If you have a creature/droid to tank for you use it to attack the target first and you provide the fire support.

    3. If both of those tips don't work for you and you just want quick easy cash, get back 55m and just shoot the lair! That's right, some mobs will not heal their lair, so it's an easy few /overchargeshot. Obviously the mobs surrounding the lair will charge you so you hope they just knock you incap. after they walk away you should be able to finish off the lair with one more /overchargeshot. Then you will most likely either die or go incap again from the rush of mobs but at least it's a faster way back to town to get more missions! (untill they fix the corpse problem anyway)

All three of these plans were working for me. The kiting I was able to do with Inean and Gerson and we got good xp. Soloing I was able to get 2k carbine xp and above with 300 combat xp per kill! The third solution would work better with one or two more people acting as the decoy, but it's still possible to do it with one person. Just don't pick a pack that heals their lairs, it won't work.

Gerson, if you're still thinking about what class to go for now then read this.

This is probably very obvious to everyone but I'm bored at work (waiting for Ghost) so I'm just going to post this:

Twin Suns Syndicate as a guild breakdown:

To us be effective on raids we're going to need some basic classes covered.

    1. Combat classes - for the most obvious reason. There are NEVER too many combat players in a guild! Right now, those I know of in this class are Xack, Klarc, Karnn, Naima, The 'Saculs' and Luna.

    2. Health/Action Healing classes - ie: medic, combat medic, doctor. The only one I know of is Vitrious (is he still alive?)

    3. Mind Healing Classes - Ie: entertainers. So far all I know of is Axia and Anand. Probably two is all we need in this area right?

    4. Leadership Class - (Squad Leader) This is totally optional but if we want to take down big stuff together having a squad leader would really increase our chances of survival. It's only necessary to have one squad leader per 20 members, so I'm not even going near that class unless we get that many people. Both Naima and I have expressed an interest in this class. It would be cool though if Talon was the squad leader though wouldn't it?

    Other usefull classes:
I was looking into ranger and noticed that they have advanced camping abilites which would be very valuable IMO. Commando looks good too but there isn't enough heavy weapons out there to supply commandos with the XP, may be a while before they will be effective.

Armorsmith - Would be a good class except everyone is at a level now where they NEED heavier armor NOW. So we're forced to buy it. This class is a long term benificial to have since we'll ALL need someone to repair or make new armor for us combat classes. This is Ekul's job right?

Weaponsmith - same issue with Armorsmith. Most of us are at a level now where we need higher level weapons and that will continue to be a need in the future as more resources become available to the game. Another good long term class. This is reserved for Errid.

If you want my opinion Gerson? I think you should stick with Weaponsmith and ask for any help you need from ANY of us ie: resources, money...etc, because this will be a valuable class in the future. If you're boared with the grind from crafting then maybe explore the Combat Medic idea?

Maybe our guild leader should post on some other forms asking for recruitment! ;)

an update on that.. Galaxy419 has started down the path of combat medic.... yay..... and Gerson is now on the way toward bioengineer.. which makes me happy cause he can make em, I can train em, you can have em.... its great.... i want to train a pack of animals for all of us to ride on... imagine how cool thatwould be, you're out in the twin suns desert and you see a pack of animals coming and riding on top of them are the feared TSS... I love it...

Just to clarify, I'm sticking with weaponsmith, adding bio-engineer, droid engineer, architect, rifleman, and merchant. I don't qualify for all of them right now, but I'll add them as I do. Then when I advance, I can get a better grasp on which professions work better for me. Heck, I still work on musician too whenever I'm waiting for a shuttle or something. Who kows how I'll turn out, but I can supply you guys with a lot of stuff in the process.

Well, my goal was to do Ranger and then one other really good weapons class, and I chose pistol.

I could do Ranger and Squad Leader, but it would seem like I would be cheating myself out of some weapon effectiveness.

I guess I could go Squad Leader and Pistoleer...

I just need more skill points!!!

Or maybe a second subscription to the game, heh heh.

if there WAS someone that unlocked a force sensitive slot in our group would the force sensitive character be able to be a part of our PA since we'll all imperial?

I have no idea. If there was no special faction they had to join I assume they could remain neutral, which would allow them to be a member. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see for that.

Just so everyone knows I am going Master Commando and Mastre Teras Kasi with an emphasis on Expert Sniper...Basically Im trying to create a new profession called assasin or mercenary, it doesnt matter what its called though, I just like killing people in the game...no no, not NPC's...Pc's.

Anyway I think I read somewhere that those professions were being added but I dont know if its true..I hope it is though....

Inean if you want to just be good in PvP then you should go bounty hunter. From reading the official boards, I discovered there is no other proffesion that can compete with a bounty hunter in PvP. Right now there isn't much defense against Knockdown shot and eye shot, untill they most likely nerf it...

-note: this is not to glorify the BH profession this is just what I've been reading about on SOE's boards.

unrelated note: I've also been reading that after todays patch a lot of people have been losing items on thier bodies after they die. Please be carefull guys! -item insurance is necessary now.

    Some questions:

I have seen (LD) above some peoples heads, as well as some other things like that. Maybe I am missing something really obvious, but what does it mean? Can one of you break down what all the abbreviations are?

BTW, I am Lance Corporal Anand Raanjak now, and I am successfully soloing destroy missions that have a big fat 5 rating. woot!

Next question: Armor... worth it? does it interfere with your attack and defense? All I know is that bone is good against blasters, and Mabari is good against melee.

I forget what LD stands for but basically it means they logged out of the game by exiting and not logging out properly.

    LFG means looking for group
    AFK is away from keyboard

    where there any others?

LD stands for Link Dead. They could also have PA abbrv. next to their name like Errid<TSS>. Armor is good for absorbing damage, I don't know for sure if you lose defensive or offensive stats, but you take a HUGE hit on regenerating HAM bars. Takes forever. In my opinon its not worth it since I use special attacks almost exclusively which already drains my HAMs, but then again, I'm not combat oriented.

I find armor generally to be a pain in the butt because of the fact that you don't regenerate as fast. I ONLY wear armor if I'm going up agains PCs or NPCs that shoot at you. Anything else it isn't worth it. BUT if you have some medic skills you can heal yourself with stims which will cover the regeneration problem. The heavier the armor the worse your HAM bars will be. You can have a slicer slice your armor so it doesn't take as much HAM away but then the armor becomes impossible to repair. It all depends on how you fight and who you fight.

Only wear armor when under heavy fire attack!

    just my two cents...

I also find that armor makes you slower and lowers your defence, but I still agree with xack, use it when PvP. Now these rules change as the armor gets better. like padded armor is much better than others for melee and its stil better than most for ranged, also it does not lower the HAM as much....You just cant find a Master armorsmith yet for Im told no one has gotten there yet, supposedly its extremely hard to get there.

anyway I just read on the SOE boards that there are 12 full sets of Mandalorian Armor on each server. Hope that's true.

I'm very excited to hear that! It better be hard to get or I'll cry.
