Honestly, I prefer to leave at least some room for the Ahsoka novel to have still happened.

I wonder if Ahsoka Tano short will tie in with Bad Batch season 2. Both will happen at same time. Rex might rejoin with Ahsoka.

I also have to say Kevin Kiner is simply phenomenal. The music in this was superb.

I'd say you should guve the Ahsoka novel a read. It has pretty much everything you want.

This is the best star wars I've seen in ages. As someone who grew up with clone wars I love returning to this art style and these characters. It was amazing to see all these little moments in between the massive events in the saga. This series has made me incredibly sympathetic to Dooku and made me love Ahsoka even more than before. I'm really glad they didn't retcon the Ahsoka novel and told a great new story instead.

Overall This was a great series and it really makes you think about the clone wars and rest of the saga differently. I'm gonna have a million thoughts buzzing around in my head for weeks.

    Bravo Dave!

Something I noticed, it looks the planet where Ahsoka fights the inquisitor could be the same one where Dooku fights the corrupt senator. The agriculture looks similar, and after many years a measure of prosperity has returned, thanks to Dooku’s intervention, presumably.

This first season is a prime example of quality over quantity. These ‘shorts’ have so much substance, Disney + could have released these once a week. In Filoni We Trust.

Anyone notice the burning field is a copy of Vader burning a field in Kenobi? Such imagination. [face_plain]

The burning field The Inquistor causes, it looks so similar to Vader burning a field in Kenobi. I mean it would have been cool if he used Force Immolate to make it different.

Just because I love the music. once again the soundtrack playing when yaddle is following Dooku reminds me of the Blade Runner video game in the best way possible.

Similar, I suppose, but it looked even better than Obi-wan imo. Some of the best computer-animated fire I can remember. We didn’t get to see much of this inquisitor but he certainly had gravitas, great little duel to finish the anthology.

I wouldn’t call it a duel, no blades crossed. Conflict perhaps, though quick.

I still think it counts as a duel. Short, abrupt, but still a duel imo

Interview where Filoni breaks down Tales of the Jedi

    Casting Bryce:

    >Yaddle stood up to evil until the very end, which according to Filoni “is very Bryce.” He’s always trying to rope Howard in. “Bryce is a big fan of what we’ve done in animation over the years. I’d love to get her to direct something in animation,” Filoni says, “She loves Star Wars, she knows the world well. We’ve been in it together now for a while. I always see that first season of Mando with Bryce, Rick \[Famuyiwa\], Deb \[Chow\], and Taika \[Waititi\]—we were all working so much together simultaneously, and we have a first year bond. So, we’re always seeing each other and showing each other stuff. And I started working on these, and I thought, ‘Hey, you should do the voice of Yaddle. It’d be really fun. It’s not like a massive commitment, obviously, because I’ve got to kill her…'”

    Yoda's speech pattern:

    >Howard was all for it. And they considered whether Yaddle should speak like Yoda. “Does she speak backwards? I’m like, ‘No, I don’t think so. I think that’s a Yoda thing'”, Filoni recalls. “Frank Oz told me once that Yoda speaks that way specifically in honor of his own master. That was what he had thought about it. I try to keep moving forward these thoughts. And Bryce on her own made a great Yaddle.”

    About the Ahsoka novel:

    >“I was doing these three pieces, one when she was very young, one that covers the formative years of the Clone Wars and her training, and I needed a piece that was somehow set after as a result of it. Playing with so much of her history as I have over the years, it was just natural to say, ‘Okay, well I’ll explain how she got back into this,'” Filoni explains, “It’s based on the same outline I gave publishing for the novel. It was always the same story.”

What better than to have GL’s protege fill in gaps of the Skywalker Saga.

Interesting series. I absolutely loved the dooku episodes, much more than I expected to. That said, the ahsoka eps didn't do much for me at all.

While the dooku episodes gave a lot of character work, I just didn't feel like we got anything particularly new in the ahsoka episodes. Just my take.

Correct, and sadly often misunderstood. More often than not the Force is Deus Ex Machina, "Lifting Rocks", or "The Magic Hand Thing".

I really liked the show, but one episode with Ahsoka training it was not really something I think we needed to see. It was a nice nostalgia for TCW fans I guess, but that's it. It didn't tell us anything new. I haven't read the novel Ahsoka so not sure how much they ruined that book with the last episode but it was IMO pretty nice. Inquisitors were made fools already in Rebels and OWK so sure they cannot get any worse for me. He has a good design though. Too bad he died so easily.

Dooku episodes were mainly good, jumped over the interesting part though, how he learned about the Palpatine being Sidious in the first place?

I really liked the life and death episode, deeply moving in a way. Sure nothing special maybe, but really liked the message in it. And it was cool to see Shili (I guess) and was that kybuck?
