Animated Shorts Official *Tales of the Jedi* Discussion Thread

It isn't just jedi - every force group besides the inquisitors were hunted down by the empire and even non-aligned force sensitives were in trouble, as mentioned in Kenobi. Similarly, in the Crimson Dawn comics it was mentioned that Palpatine had a purge of other dark side groups at some point - the Knights of Ren managed to avoid it by being small, weak, and operating on the far edges of the galaxy in wild space and the unknown regions, but even they knew the Empire would track them down and kill them eventually.

 

It makes sense; considering Palpatine didn't want to be threatened by anyone nearly as powerful as he is. Other you're on his side, or you're not. Ventress wasn't a Jedi at this time, but after what Dooku did to the Nightsisters, she's got no love lost for the Empire either.

 

Whatever their plan for other animated works might be, I do hope they start releasing Tales series more frequently, like twice a year at least. Maybe two different Tales each time, even. There's an endless, ever expanding supply of interesting characters to explore, after all.

That said, they shouldn't just do it for the sake of doing it, of course. There has to be an interesting story to tell. But I think Star Wars will never run out of those.

 

Yeah, there are definitely a lot of interesting little stories I am curious about but would be hard to make into full series that would be perfect for tales.

Like, one focused on Satine and showing why she became a pacifist, her relationship with Obi-Wan, and how she came to rule Mandalore.
Fennec Shand's whole deal and why she is such a badass.
The origins of Phoenix squadron and commander Sato

Heck, despite my complaints about the Ahsoka novel and its equivalent in tales of the jedi, I think I might be (cautiously) in favor of some more partial adaptations. Like obviously you couldn't do all the Thrawn prequel books in this type of series, but I could see showing three brief glimpeses into major eras and events in Thrawn's life - like one episode of him in the Chiss fleet, another of him joining the empire and/or rising its ranks, and another of meeting the mothers on Peridia.

 

Or meeting Rukh for the first time.

 

I still want to know what went down between Dooku and Pre Visla

 

Also both solid choices.
