Perhaps this is a *what if* Maul survived and this whole Maul issue is just Obi-Wan's bad dream.

If only.

 

Surely by now we can stop with the "he should not have come back", "this is bs", "god this is a stupid idea" comments.

It's all moot at this point.

I've been reading a lot about the origins of Star Wars, and this decision by GL with Maul is entirely in keeping with the way he's always done things. Star Wars was never originally intended to have prequels, and GL did not have sequels written in 1977. None of the first drafts of Empire Strikes Back had Vader as Luke's father. That whole thing upon which the legend of SW hinges is something GL went back and changed a few years later when he decided he had something better in mind than the original story, which really was that Darth Vader killed Luke's father who was a separate person. This is just a different and less drastic version of the same thing. As someone who thought Maul was robbed of any and all character in his only film appearance, I'm game. The voice acting by Witwer was stellar.

 

Lucas also contradicting himself isn't new too.

 

That's basically what I was going for, yeah.

 

Hey, maybe the Jedi won't be total morons this time and send out more than two Jedi to try and capture Maul and find out who his master-

Looks like Obi-Wan's alone, and everyone else is to scared to go with him.

 

That may be what the clips show, but surely Obi-Wan was sent in as bait for Anakin to come play the hero - oops, isn't Ventress supposed to be working with him - the heroine comes in to save the bait?

 

My prediction...Vent kills Maul, then Vent dies from wound she sustains killing Maul...then Savage dies somehow. All lose ends tied, back the WAR!

I am fairly okay with Maul's return (well, I've made my peace with it), but a line like "I am surprised you could have forgotten me so easily after I killed your master and you left me for dead on Naboo" is just insulting. Who the hell writes these things?

And how can something like this bypass quality control? It just boggles the mind.

 

I like the astromech running itself into the wall. Subtly disturbing. Brothers needed more "creepy atmosphere" stuff like that.

Maul, eh. We'll see.

 

Not really sure how that was disturbing. If it was some random living being, then probably yeah.

 

Maul will survive the next episode. Ventress is going to be the one to watch.

 

Pretty much they spoil everything.

And don't worry, Obi-Wan will survive.

 

If you've read recent Sam Witwer interviews about portraying Maul, you already know whether or not he's dying in the next episode.

 

Well, you don't need to read that. They said he's going into the 5th season long before.

 

Those who assume people need to be constantly reminded of things that happened before, or else they won't understand what's happening. EU readers have had to put up with this sort of thing for years.

Yeah, his horns are much shorter. Guess they need to be trimmed like toenails. Maybe these guys rub there heads against trees like cats sharpen their claws. xD

 

I wonder if Maul kept Obi's lightsaber that fell down the shaft as well..
