Is TBOBF getting a second season? If not, when are we most likely to see Cobb Vanth again?

Unclear at this point. Maybe? But probably not.
Fredrik's probably right - The Mandalorian.

I rewatched TBOBF today, skipping the Mandalorian/Ahsoka/Luke/ Grogu/Pelli/Naboo fighter sections. (Sacrilegious right?!)

Anyway, TBOBF as a stand-alone thing seemed a lot more watchable the second time round as a consequence.

Some of the criticisms I, and perhaps others, had at the time don't seem so strong. Undoubtedly Rodriguez still needs to stay away from SW, and some critiques remain, even in the good bits. But I was pleasantly surprised at how it hangs together after a bit of distance from it. It's definitely on the more fun end of SW things.

Skipping the tie-ins with other series' ensured the series kept it's pace and clarity of narrative. I would quite like to see a proper version of TBOBF with the Boba bits from Mando S2 appropriately cut in and the Mando bits cut out.

I did it using the high-tech "fast forward" system but I'm sure someone else could do it better.

Has anyone else done this and noticed anything better or worse about this series?

(One thing I did notice was that Boba is actually still a killer at heart. I didn't appreciate this so much first time round I think).

With the way its going... who knows. My feeling is that Season 3 of Mandalorian is next. And then Ahsoka and then Skeleton Crew And then season 4 of Mandalorian.

Personally i think they have a marvel style event in mind for Season 4 of Mandalorian and i don't think they will be patient enough to let these other shows get more than 1 season before it happens.

Thats just my guess as you can certainly argue they have shown no chill from their own fanboy-ism

With Mandalorian season 4 we will also get another story with Ahsoka ans ghost crew or season 4 will be too crowded. Maybe season 2 of Book of Boba Fett and we see a return of all characters.

if its 10 episodes, then you have plenty of space to use a alot of these characters. If it was a film, maybe not. They just all need to come together by the final episode to work marvel style. It would be 5 hours.

    I love BOBF.

I loved it from the first Scene of Boba burning his way to freedom from the Sarlaac Pit. To the last with Mando and Grogu flying off to Mandalore together.

    episode 6 the highlight.

Season 2 makes sense for this show. So much scope with all the different characters.

I assume we will know more about if we will have a season 2 by the end of Mando season 3

    Fingers are crossed

Refreshing to hear someone talk so positively about the show. :)

I have my issues with TBOBF, but on the whole, I'm very glad that we got it. Episodes 2, 5 and 6 are fantastic, and some of my favorite Star Wars episodes so far.
From the Desert Comes a Stranger, in particular, is incredible. It's up there with the Mando episodes The Jedi and The Rescue, which I think are OT level good.

I watched this show over a span of ten days and count myself entertained. The line "You can only get so far without a tribe" was perfect for his stage of life! Tatooine proved worthy to explore because the city's politics sounded like RL with the "gang territory" vibe and the violence, which Boba saw fit to control via rancor or gaffi stick. I remain unsure if he'd ever wish violence to disappear, though, given his background; harmony may bore him. I came into the series with no exposure to EU writings, only the Clone Wars show of fond memory. Whether it continues to s.2 or not, I'm pleased to have watched it=D=, the Mandalorian [:D] and Kenobi:ben:. There's a plot bunny brewing about why Shand would wish spice to stay available (besides the money), but that's for another thread. Also, the theme song lends itself to rhythmic pounding on a steering wheel, a plus at any time.[face_cowboy]

There have been some rumors of Book of Boba Fett might be getting a second season. And there have been speculation on what should happen in the new Season. Other crime syndicates, like Black Sun. Imperial remnants, pirates. The return of Mace Windu as an elderly Jedi.

Please, not Mace Windu. When people die, they need to stay dead, or else death is meaningless and it's impossible to take anything seriously. Look at Marvel with its revolving door of death; the only character death with any impact is BP, and that only works because Chadman died and we know it must be permanent.

Oh I agree Mace Windu should stay dead, but im open to him coming back for the right storytelling. Like George Lucas had if Mace Windu survived, he would go on a spiritual journey and confronting his faith in the force.

Considering the latest rumors about a season 2, I think it seems likely that that was always the plan*; they're just waiting for Mando season 3 to be released first, before announcing it. Probably because Boba's story will continue there first, and will set up the next season of TBOBF.

*It was never called a limited series after all.

I certainly hope this is the case; where else will I get my Krrsantan fix? :p

Favreau recently commented that Grogu was training with Luke for two years. Most fans would agree that was not communicated clearly, especially because the present day scenes don't seem to contain a sizable time jump.

This leads me to believe the time jump must be before the post-credits scene of Mandalorian season 2 in Jabba's throne room; that leads pretty smoothly into the beginning of Book of Boba Fett. I think this is feasible, but I'm curious if anyone else has any theories to make this time jump work.

As a side effect of this change, we now have a sizable period where Boba and Fennec would be roaming Tatooine as mercenaries. This might be a happy accident, should they choose to explore how a newly re-armored Fett chose to go down a more righteous path.

While it's not nailed down, Favreau since clarified that that period was more like real time.

I think a season 1-2 could be between a year to 3 years. And I like Grogu’s training with Luke taking longer like the two years high estimate. The original trilogy movies covered many years of time but it didn’t seem like it if you watched them in succession.

However, the recent confusion shows again that Star Wars television authors need stricter timelines. The Clone Wars writers kept forgetting that three years had passed since Attack of the Clones, for example Palpatine saying he wasn’t chancellor ten years ago.

In other words, what I'm getting from Word of God is the timeline is open to fan interpretation exactly as it was before. Carry on, there will be plenty more bafflement to come with each installment including when this gets a season 2.

“Well that Mando guy stole a few chapters of my book. It was painful watching him turn up with some black new lethal sword. And the way he turned up in my Book of Boba, he just destroyed everybody. I’m sure this guy is… ah… ruining my show. But I couldn’t say anything. I’m not the writer, so I have to bear it I guess”

“I think there is a few changes going on. We also come under the big umbrella known as “Disney” now too. So it’s one of many previous few conversations we had in L.A . The dialog began like, “Oh look we’re having a few changes. We’re having a few cutbacks.” And while you hear that on the different finish of the road, it’s no good attempting to barter any more cash that’s for positive. So we’ll see what occurs.”
