Gah, this humongous break is killing LACWAC.

Anyway, FWIW, I really enjoyed Shadow Warrior the most out of everything pre-Umbara in season 4. Sure, it was a terrible plot and ridiculous story, made Grievous look like a joke, the shutdown of the battle droids was a huge deus-ex-machina, but Jar Jar was just so damn funny. It really made me laugh, so I enjoyed it.

I watched Shadow Warrior again and, despite it being one of the worst-written episodes of the series, I enjoyed it a little more than I did when it first aired. The dialogue between Sidious and Dooku and Jar Jar's conversation with Grievous are some of the best scenes of the series so far, it's a shame they have to be stuck in the middle of one of the worst episodes.

As a convert to the Jar Jar fan club, I enjoyed his parts in Shadow Warrior with Grievous. Funny stuff.

But other than that it was a pretty stock episode. Been there and done that.

Surprisingly, Shadow Warrior was my fav. out of the six. Seeing Naboo and Otoh Gunga again was great (hell, anytime they revisit planets from the films puts a smile on my face :D ), and the Dooku vs. Anakin duel was cool. Grievous getting beaten by Gungans could've been executed better, though it finally did prove to me that Separatists can't be badass. :p

    Ahem. :p

I'm the real oddball. My favorite episode of the first 6 was "Mercy Mission". I thought it was hilarious and its growing on me more as I've gotten on this Wolfpack kick.

I actually just re-watched Mercy Mission - okay, so I cheated; I skipped most of the subsurface sequence. Basically just watching Wolffe and his men. Man, those guys are tough nuts. Definitely the sort of bunch that would turn on their Jedi superior with a single command (despite their strong respect of Plo Koon).

Won't be surprised if one of the clones was nicknamed "Toughnut" :p

Oh man Wolffe is tough. His sarcasm is awesome. I might have to watch "Nomad Droids" just for where poor Wolffe just can't question Plo's orders enough even to escape 3P0's story. Not cool man. you gotta watch the whole thing. =b ...I still laugh at "Mercy Mission".

I think they should name a clone after George. Just so another clone can ask. -- "Which way did he go George? Which way did he go?"

Actually it was my favorite as well- it was different episode but best of those 6.... There was some good moments in Shadow Warrior but they wasted good idea of gungans joining CIS and Anakin and Grievous should've never been in same episode again- and they had them both captured and terribly embarassed:oops:

I think "Shadow Warrior" should of been two episodes to fix the pacing and play out the Anakin and Grievous trade. It could off been much more interesting than things turned out. "Droid Nomads" should of been cut for that.

1-4: Umbaran episodes definitely take the top cake here
    5: Slaves of the Republic
    6: Mercy Mission
    7: Gungan Attack
    8: Kidnapped
    9: Prisoners
    10: Water War
    11: Nomad Droids
    12: Shadow Warrior

That would be my opinions regarding the first half. 9/10 are the episodes that brought Mon Cala down for me and 11/12 I cannot stand at all, preferably never watching them again.

Mercy Mission has almost no rewatch value but it is an awsome episode. It is the only Droids homage the show has gotten right so far, with the added bonus of stormtrooper foreshadowing that makes it more than just filler. It definitely isn't at the top of my S4 list but it's far from the bottom.

To me "Mercy Mission" has plenty of rewatch value. Its one of the few episodes I still laugh at in a good way after about 4 viewings and I love the campy feel of it. Its more rewatchable than all but two season 3 episodes for me.

I don't think this has been posted here, but the episodes guides on the OS have been updated with:

    1. Trivia sections for the 3 mon calamari episode, with the rest of the trivia's to be added in the next weeks.
(includes some info on Tikkes, swash)
    2. The episode commentaries with Dave Filoni for seasons 1,2,3 have been re-uploaded
    3. TONS and TONS of new concept art for all 66 episodes from the first 3 seasons.
(including concept art of Plo Koon's fight with Grievous for the Malevolence arc, new character designs, and much more!)

mesa happy with the revival of the trivia section!!

It's nice that some of the trivia sections were finally uploaded but it would have been nice for all the episodes to have them. Also, the one about the lightsabers not boiling underwater made me kind of upset. It's getting annoying how often the TCW crew talks about the limitations of the show and makes excuses as to why some obvious elements are omitted. I understand it's tough to animate a weekly show of this magnitude but these are professionals creating what is billed as a high-quality product which viewers pay for, and saying how hard something is to animate doesn't make up for it's absence.

On another note, Service With a Smile is one of the greatest things to come out of this show. It will be made into an icon and it will be mine. :p

I think they gave a very valid excuse for not making the intended effect. In fact, their excuse answers your criticism.

Yes Mercy Mission is pretty much a filler and has no rewatch value at all IMO -but it is only episode of those first 6 episodes that had any value to me and that was not painful to watch:p
First 6 eps of season4 were pretty much worthless IMO- rewatching them is actually painful- they are so bad....

    Tikkes? Where?:-B

[face_thinking] hmmm.... at least "isolationists"-term is added there to quarren-databank where we also see picture of Tikkes and Dowmeia.... just a bit too late to fix the damage Dac-arc made to the canon- well if they make another one some day...

About Tikkes: He was designed in concept art, but ultimately not included, since his placement in the Quarren power structure and his whereabouts in the war at this time would raise too many questions than could be comfortably answered in this already packed episode.o_Othese questions raised anyway- well maybe we see him later[face_praying]

This differs from Filoni's explanation- he said they didn't want to "change the canon" LOL.... now "it would've raise too many questions"- all TCW-eps do raise those -like.... Mortis[face_whistling] - damn it raised more questions than Tikkes ever could
