My thought exactly. Clonetroopers and stormtroopers. They don't even have the same name. They might be different.

i suspect that during the convo between leia and luke in the ewok village about their nother after leia says "she was very beautiful but, sad" we will see flash backs to Padme as she appears in Episode 3.

Ok, please forgive the sheer stupidity of this question pertaining to the new 5 star bootleg OT DVDs.

They are in English right? I just want to make sure before I plunk down some serious change for them. The only reason for my confusion is it says they have English subtitles. I'm not sure why it would have English subtitles unless it were in Japanese which is what I heard before.

Anyone who can help please let me know.
    Thanks.

Just a thought, but sometimes on dvd's they put on subtitles in english as a form of closed captioning.

Does anyone else remember this interview with George Lucas. I remember he talked to someone about wishing he had put more detail in the trench on the DS in ANH. I can't remember the source but I remember this interview took place at Skywalker ranch but cannot remember the name of the show or documentery. If anyone knows please let me know.

Anyways I think this would be a great idea and I for one would love to see something sort of like the gamecube's rouge leader version of the trench run in the movie. I think this would also show that Luke had even more of the force going for him being that he would have to manuever around the added obstacles and challenges. IMHO the more detailed battle in the trench run might even add more value to when Darth Vadar says "The force is strong with this one"

Ssorrol: Actually I think in ANH when Obi and Darth Vadar are fighting he is just old and not as strong in the force anymore. He knew he could not defeat vadar but fought him so that Luke and the others could escape. As for the saber dieing out I think it was just showing that he was weaker and old compared to vadar which was always stronger in the force and younger.

Just my 2 cense on issue.

When I first heard the infuriating news that the undiluted masterpieces known as the "original trilogy" would never be released on dvd, I literally felt like a knife was being driven through my heart. For a hardcore SW purist like me who endured "Jedi Rocks" and JarJar Binks, this was the straw that broke the camels back!! So today I went to the site I was referred to in this thread and ordered the bootleg O.T.dvds. After I recieve, them I will post a review. Until then, anyone who already owns similar dvds from ebay or anywhere else can give us their review. Wish me luck and may the force be with you!

I think ILM needs ro go back and re-rotoscope all the lightsabers in the OT so they match the PT.

I don't understand why everyone is so in love with the inferior original versions. Aside from Greedo's shooting and "You're lucky you got out alright", everything in those versions are an absolutely outstanding improvements on the original. Even "Jedi Rocks"? Yes, even "Jedi Rocks". As bad as "Jedi Rocks" is, it is way better than "Lapti Nek" was. And don't throw that "I was raised on the original version" stuff at me. So was I! But I will glady abandon the original version for the far superior special edition.

Would it kill Lucas to include both versions on the dvd so we can all have the choice of our favorite version?!! Face it dude,Lucas even admitted that the SE was rushed and it shows. Laptinek was a short scene, barely noticable,Jedi Rocks is a huge embarrassment. The ending shots of ROTJ where people are rejoicing look like extras fom Babylon 5 and the new age Yanni music completely doesn't fit. Not to mention the cartoonlike bad CG at the very end of ESB!

Not that this means anything, but I heard that on the DVD release of ET this year, both the original version and 20th anniversary edition will be included. Maybe Steven can convince his buddy GL that this is the way to go.

Personally, my dream would be to be able to pick and choose which SE changes I wanted included as I watched. I love some of the changes, don't mind most, and despise a few. I realize that current DVD technology makes this impossible, but I can still dream.

People need to stop asking "will both versions be on the DVD?". When they are released there will be 3 different versions.

    Original Version
    Special Edition
    Definitive Edition

As far as I am concerned, the definitive version should be the only one included on the DVD. Like many others I have my THX and Special Edition box sets for archival purposes. I suppose it would be good to have them all digital, but I think Lucas realises it will create too much controversy over which edition is the 'real' one. By releasing just the final editions, Lucas is saying that THESE are the films he wants them to be.

ET is coming to DVD Oct 22 according to Light's Out Entertainment.

"Planned as a 3-Disc Ultimate Edition DVD, E.T. will hit the streets on October 22nd, and will not only include the original 1982 theatrical release version, but also the 2002 20th Anniversary Edition, plus a third disc of extras. The supplements will include a number of featurettes, all-new interviews with the cast, crew, and Spielberg, outtakes, deleted scenes not included in the new version, making-of material on the new special effects, rare archival footage, excerpts from the fabled E.T. Anniversary premiere, and Williams' complete score isolated on the DVD."

Well, the Force was with me today! :D

I'm referring to the fact that I just won an auction at Ebay for a set of original edition DVD's, and I paid way under $100 for them. In fact, try $56.00! :D

And, I found a Count Dooku at TRU today, too. Not bad, eh? ;)
