Acting was better this time around. The Anakin/Padme scenes were flat, but not awful (but the Padme on balcony brushing her hair scene got dangerously close).

Probably the worse, or one of the worse actors in this movie wasn't Hayden, per se, BUT Sam Jackson.
Talk about a phoned-in performance! Phew!

And when Ian is transforming into the RotJ emperor, the "noo, noo" was lame as hell.

i hate retards like AJA who say crap like "it wasnt the actors falt, it was the script"

in my opinion, anything and everything George Lucas has ever done is totally, 100%, ingenious. every line in every film is incredible. not a line is out of place and i wouldnt take anything out of any film. its all star wars just the same to me.

CAN WE STOP TRASHING STAR WARS SO MUCH ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!

I think everyone did an oustanding job . Yoda was even better this time.Hayden plays angry well . In the interviews with him I've seen he likes this kind of stuff you could tell.Ewan did a fine job delivering the witty Obi-Wan from ANH.Ian M. was slimy and slick as needed.R2 was the bomb what can you say. I didn't know if GG would work considering the only thing I saw going in was the weird jerky shot in the trailer . But I liked him . The love scene dialouge worked for me . In the LOE and RotS novels you get little details of how the seperation of the war is hard for them both . I thought HC and NP portrayed that well. The hair brush stuff was okay he is admiring his wife -some husbands do that in real life. What lady out there isn't flattered when the guy in there life complements them? I'll stop tyoing now ...thanks for reading :D.

    Sorry to ramble on [face_blush]

I had read the ROTS novel and comic book adaptation before seeing the film, and the line of dialogue that had me most concerned was Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader's "I hate you!" directed towards Obi-Wan Kenobi as the former lay burning on the volcanic sands of Mustafar. In real life, people rarely mean it when they say "I hate you," and in drama, you almost never see characters express their hatred in such a direct verbal way. I thought this line would not work because it wasn't very effective in print.

Credit to Hayden Christiansen and the director, however, for making the line work *extremely* well. Hayden delivered the line perfectly: the emotion was 100% believable and easily the dramatic climax of the film (if not the entire PT); the directing crew ensured that the background environment suited the mood of the line.

I loved... every scene, well cept for 2-3. The acting was much better this time around and I believed it. I liked Boga. my fave creature. :(

    here are my thoughts:

There are many aspects that got me sad, all choked up...there were 2-3 parts where I had to look away due to the emotions in the scenes... especially when Anakin gets burst into flames...powerful but yet emotional and disturbing... I was shocked. I was near tears when Obi wan shouted in a heartwrenching voice "You were the Chosen One! It was said you would destroy the SIth, not join them." then he starts to walk away after he picks up Anakin's lightsaber and Skywalker screams "I Hate You." Again, Obi turns to face the man, the boy he trained, the son he once loved... "You were my brother Anakin... I loved you."

When Padme confronts Anakin on Mustafar, I got teary eyed and man... I felt the scene after the choke on Padme was emotional. Now two friends, two Jedi, two brothers, two heros- One good, one bad are forced to fight each other to the death . "You turned her against me" "You have done that yourself." "You Will not take her from me!""Your anger and lust for power have already done that. You have allowed this Dark lord to twist your mind, until now...until now you become the very thing u swore to destroy."

I was so awe strucked when hearing the dialogue in this scene. I kept shaking my head and in my mind, I was telling myself, No...there has to be another way...but knowing what happens near the end of the duel, I suddenly felt bad for Obiwan who is forced to kill his friend and brother even though he couldn't bring himself to destroy Anakin fully when he slices his legs and arm off. He didn't want to and I could feel his pain and his emotions when he left Anakin for dead, knowing that killing a defenceless man will not make the situation any better but at the same time, he still cared about Anakin, but watching him burst into flames, Obi felt he had lost all hope in his friend.

"Don't lecture me Obiwan... I see through the lies of the Jedi. I do not fear the Dark side as you do...I have brought peace to my new Empire. Don't make me kill you."
"Anakin, my alligence is to the Republic...to democracy."
"If you're not with me, you're my enemy."
"Only the Sith deals in absolutes...I will do what I must."
    "You will try."

The scenes when Order 66 was issued, god...powerful scenes...I was in shock to see the gaurdians of peace and justice get turned against by the clones. I was near tears and when Yoda felt their pain...the look on his face when he clutched at his chest... :( poor guy. I liked the part after he cut the heads off the troopers and he jumps on Chewbacca's back..so cute, reminded me of the scene in Empire when he's on Luke's back. :) It made me smile...aww. :) The scene when Obi wan is on Boga and the clones fire at him and he and boga fall down into the abyss while Anakin's Betrayal plays in the background... :_| I gasped and my jaw dropped. NOOOOOOO! I liked boga...cool creature. :) Boga :)

The Anakin/Padme scenes: I had no problems with it. I loved the reunion and Anakin runs to her-wraps his arms around her and lifts her and spins around like that. :) Awww... I actually bought the dream sequences. The first one when we see Padme screaming and calling out to him. I got choked up.

The space battle was great. I enjoyed R2. Awsome. :) Now the scene when Anakin pledges his alligence with Sidious.... I was like...hmmmm... I dunno. there were maybe 2 scenes. I dunno. The mace/sidious duel was okay.

K... Listening to Anakin's betrayal right now. I got images from the movie pop into my mind and I cried oooh Obi and Boga . :_|

The Birth of Vader was a chilling moment, especially when it intercuts with the Birth of the Twins. Padme naming the twins... :( was so sad. and obi wan holding the twins. The Vader rage...was good and I bought it.

The duel between Yoda and Palpatine. Awsome stuff. After the movie, I realized that Palpatine had the high ground cause he's like very powerf

Conversely, I think the weak link in ROTS among the principals this time was Natalie Portman's Padme'. Natalie is a fine actress, as we've seen in the other two PT films and her non-STAR WARS work, but for some reason, half of her scenes in ROTS seemed a bit flat. I thought her weakest performance was the scene wherein Padme was telling Anakin to hold her as he once did by the lake on Naboo. This line worked much better in print (i.e. the novel and the comics adaptatin); Natalie delivered it so flatly, however, that its emotional zing was really neutered.

The role of bad Anakin was perfect for Hayden..you can't help thinking that his scenes with Padme are a little awkward in some way..but when he turns to the dark side he really is great, and this is where they did cast him for missa thinks. I think that Ian was absolutely spectacular in episode 3, pushing it to the edge but not over it, not over the top, this is how I wanna see the emperor; consumed with power..for the rest it was all pretty goog except a pretty much icey obie wan seeing the younglings get killed..but that's it IMO..

The acting was okay. Surprisingly, it was editing, pacing, and some of the bluescreen stuff that I did not like. The Obi-Anakin battle on the lava river looked fake.
I hated the battle droids talking all the time. Grievous was simply awful. The Clone Wars cartoon made him look way better. He was not menacing at all in ROTS. The coughing and hacking annoyed me after awhile.

    Best Actors: Ewan and Ian
Hayden pulled it off very well.
Natalie was very convincing in her role.

I think all the players raised their games in this one. No complaints here. Everybody looked comfortable in their roles.

Ian, Ewan, Hayden AND Natalie stood out for me. If he counts, Yoda was great too.

I thought the first two scenes with Anaikin and Padme were particularly good. He was happy this time. There were times when I didn't like the dialogue but that didn't have anything to do with how the actors played it.

No complaints from me. Everyone worked harder in this movie, and they had much much better material to work with than in AOTC and TPM. Portman completely redeemed himself.

And Yoda was so good, with the combination of the best character animation of the prequels and top notch work from Frank Oz, that I forgot he was CG. Yoda's performance was brilliant.

I thought the acting was superb for an action/adventure flick. There were some cringy parts, but I think every Star Wars movie has them. I don't love Star Wars for the acting. ;)

McDiarmid stole the movie. People were actively booing and hissing him because he came off as so wonderfully evil.

Portman, though...anytime she said anything at all (except her "thunderous applause" line) the whole theater would crack up. I'm sorry, but she just was not able to act at all.

Acting was horrible. I find it sad that CGI characters acted better than the real life charcters. Wooden puppets they all were. Truly terrible.

Overall, it was a badscript. Great actors can work around a bad script.

I think Natalie Portman's acting on Mustafar was just plain terrible. Which was too bad becuase that should have been a great scene and I ended up just shaking my head.

I feel I must explain banter to those of you who don't get it. ;)

Anakin: "You are so beautiful." - Padme has just been talking about their child, and fixing up it's room, and where they should raise it. I don't know how many of you are married or have ever even had a girlfriend (and if the answer is not many - I can understand why), but men DO tell their wives they are beautiful, especially when they are pregnant (and referring to something as emotional as their impending parenthood). ;)

Padme: "Only because I'm so in love." - I guess George should have put the wink in here or maybe a twinkle in the eye, something for the emotionally retarded, so the fanboyz would get the quirky, banter part. I, however, got it from the look on her face. But I'm older than 12.

Anakin: "No, It's because I'm so in love." - Again, he's being facetious even though he means it and you could tell from his face, too. He's bantering. Look it up in the dictionary. ;)

Padme: "So love is blind?" - She's now joking with him because he corrected her saying she was beautiful because HE was in love. She's insinuating he thought her beautiful only because HE was in love. You know, "love is blind"?

Anakin: "Well, that's not exactly what I meant." - He realizes she's kidding, but she has him in a corner - Kind of like: "Does this dress make me look fat?"

Uh, we know badly written, soap-opera type banter when we see it. I've had my fair share of girlfriends (AND boyfriends, for that matter) and we've never said anything THAT corny.

Where was Mace Windu in this film coz all I saw was
Shaft/Jules Dressed as a Jedi saying his lines.

Ewan owned, the shot where he's flying away from mustafar next to 3PO fantastic.

Only problem I had with Palps after his confrontation
with Shaft/Jules was that his voice was all over the
place, it was different in almost every scene.

Ki Adi Mundi's death got me too I didnt think I would
care all that much about him but they way he was
charging on leading his troops and then Bam, it was great
