Thanks Handmaiden! I could crack jokes about the Jedi 'goin doooooooown in a blaze of glory' etc etc but i wont!! Hehe!

I agree though. It seems some people get so wound up about the idea of Grievous they are utterly offended by it! Like i say, he's just another throwaway movie villain that serevs the story. He isnt ruining the story at all, and if you analyse it all it makes sense to off Dooku early.

The lightsaber thing i still have a little problem with. Just a little one though, and like everyone said i highly doubt we will see him wielding them with his feet! Its a cartoon people, not part of the films. Mace could hardly RUN in 'AOTC' let alone spin round as fast as he does in 'Clone Wars'! Hehe! I for one am coming around to it though.

Maybe Grievous takes the sabers and as he is a robot with four arms it kind of makes him hard to attack for someone with only two arms like Obi Wan!! It doesnt mean he is more skilled. And i would take the Official Site descripton with a pinch of salt too. He MAY be the greatest hand to hand Jedi Killer but again, thats hand to hand. Jedi have other powers that he does not such as the Force!

EDIT: In reference to my earlier 'Lucas using old ideas', the idea of taking Jedi's weapons started with Aurra Sing! Maybe Lucas is really a sexist?? Assaj Ventress ended up as Dooku! Has Aurra Sing ended up as Grievous? Will Lucas stop at nothing to not give us a female villain?? Oh hang on, Zam.......

Good theory instanly shot down by my afterthought! Oh well......

EDIT2: What was his voice like in the cartoon? Id love to know. Was it like Vaders? Was it robotic? Was it like Bender? I can see it now
Obi Wan - 'Your henchmen are dead Grievous, surrender'
Grievous - 'Bite my shiny metal as*!'

I think I read that GG's voice hasn't been worked on yet, and that they didn't know how they would do it, only that it would have some sort of tweaking to it. I expect the Clone Wars voice is just a supposition.

It was definitely not like Vader's, thank God. I was hoping it would be nothing like it. I don't know who did the voice of GG but I'm sure someone here knows. It was almost reverberating in sound, and very ominous as well.

It would be cool ifhe lit up a couple of Stogies while burping flames, and STILL took on Obi Wan! Hehe!

Seriously though, i think Lucas has been a bit hit and miss with his voices in the prequels, so hopefully he'll get it right and he wont sound too pantomime!

In my opinion the voices so far:

Nute Gunray - Terrible voice and acting. Far too Pantomime and hokey for a Star Wars villain.

    Jar Jar - Nuff Said!

Watto - Good accent and suited the character (And NO he wasnt 'anti semitic'! What is with all these do gooders claiming racism all the time!? It was an ITALIAN accent for gods sake!)

Poggle the Lesser - Good voice (or NOISE iIshould say!)

Sebulba - Great voice work from the guy who did Maul and.....

Darth Maul - Great idea to have Maul with a clean English Accent. It was a perfect opposite to his look and worked great!

So HOPEFULLY Lucas goes the Maul route with Grievous and not the Gunray route of Pantomime villain!

EDIT: Before anyone picks it up, yes i know the guy who 'played' Maul wasnt the voice of Sebulba, but the same guy did the voices of the two characters, and he was from good 'ol Liverpool England where IM from!! WOOHOO!!

Known to many fans as the voice of Bender on "Futurama," John DiMaggio is the voice of General Grievous in the Cartoon Network mini series.

Ask and it shall be given. ;)

    Don't diss Madden!

Madden is the ultimate game. And online, I dominate! It's really the only game I have any real interest in playing. It's off the hook. Love those Titans! Comeout in that Shotgun Trips formationa and let Mason and Calico eat the D up.

Madden and the General. Both will vanquish any opponent (threw that in just to be on topic).

I am now convinced that Grevious is Sifo-Dyas... Returned from the Dead!

Grevious-Dyas was killed or thought killed ten years before AOTC... Likely in a trap concieved by Siddious for exactly this purpose...

I think his injuries are even beyond Anakins... he was porbably dead on the slab, But Siddious, flush with the power of the Darkside and the help of a species of aliens who are damned fine at cybernetics... they rebuilt this dead Jedi.

But it was too Late... Too much of him was gone, and Grevious no longer held his conection to the force. He retained his memories of his Jedi Training... But he could no longer tap into it's power. Grevious Grew to hate the Jedi, and turned himself over time into a tool for their destruction. He remembered how to wield a lightsaber, how to tap into the Jedi's Archives, and the tactics they would use. He Countered them at every move.

Never able to Tap into the Force again, Sifo-Dyas is still a tool of pure hate... His Unrepentent Unmasking by Obi-wan during III will convince Kenobi that these fallen Jedi, more Machine now then man, twisted and inhuman... can never be turned back.

    He tried with Master Sifo-Dyas

For my mistaken belief that the guy who voices Bender is the guy who did the Clone War cartoon i humbly apologise.....hehe!

I have lowered myself into the Pit of Carkoon and will await my fate for being il-informed!

    *slowly gets digested*

p.s. It would be good to hear Grievous say 'Bite my shiny metal as*' tho!

    The General is not Sifo-Dyas!

I doubt the name Sifo Dyas will even be mentioned in Ep. III. That guy is gone.

And the General is using the Force thanks to his training with Darth Sidious. He is unstoppable (except for implausible action sequences just to ensure he dies and maintains continuity with the OT).

Now can we resume John Madden discussion?? Don't any of you rooks ever play? Step up!

    The Easter Bunny wouldn't lie.

Come to think of it, has anyone ever seen snap-hiss and the Easter Bunny together in the same room?

Jedi Scum, very nice 3D model of Grievous' head! But Darth_Steven seems to have done the "eyes" wrong. They are supposed to be pretty linear on the top, the bottom however looks accurate. And the space between the eyes shouldn't be pressed in like that, if you look at profile pictures of Grievous you'll notice the face has a very smooth shape all the way from the top to the bottom. I suggest he studies the proportions and shapes a bit further.

snap-hiss, I checked out the link you provided. I have two questions:

    1) Does Wertz's make a product called 'Crunchy Frog'?

    2) If so, do they take the bones out?

    GG = bad idea

there's no need to add a monster cyborg robot that we know nothing about to an already established roster of characters . characters that we have known since the begining get their screentime chopped to make room for a meaning less robot . its wrong to just pop a new bad guy into the plot with no foreshadowing and little purpose . and to add to that his design is just TERRIBLE ,a robot with a human brain and 4 arms makes NO sense what so ever . i hate to say this but so far i rather see jar jar get more screentime then gg . at least we know him .

So by your reasoning there shouldn't have been Yoda, Jabba, Lando and every character that came after ANH....

its wrong to just pop a new bad guy into the plot with no foreshadowing and little purpose

Wasn't the Emperor a new bad guy poped into the plot after ANH?

and to add to that his design is just TERRIBLE ,a robot with a human brain and 4 arms makes NO sense what so ever

Well, this is your opinion and I think you're in the minority here.... and what do you mean by "no sense"?..... it's sci-fi fantasy, open up your imagination a bit... and had the 4 arms rumor been confirmend yet?

Hating a character before we know anything about him isn't worth the energy really.... and what's with this feeling that GG will take away screen time? Take away from what? Do you think that GG is going to take up so much screentime that the Anakin story won't be finished? GG is going to be part of the story line... he contributing to the elimination of the Jedi... therefore, he's part of the story...

Yeah, people really have to give GG a chance. The good er evil General will likly serve a good purpose in Episode 3, one as good or better then Maul and Jangos. In the end he will probably be an acceptable villain.
