*OFFICIAL THREAD* Mace Windu in Episode III

anakin will kill mace.

i'd say dooku has an outside chance, but most likely anakin is the one who will kill mace. but, i think dooku already has enough clout (in the sense that when anakin slays him, it will establish anakin as one of the most powerful jedi).

i'd like to either see anakin kill mace in a double duel that pits anakin versus obi-wan and mace, as has been suggested in fan scripts.

otherwise, i would especially like to see anakin as darth vader (in suit) effortlessly destroy mace at the end of the movie.

 

Who cares? He isn't as powerfull or cool as Obi-wan.

Yeah, i'm sorry. But my man Mace, doubles Obi-Wan on both coolness, and Strength.

Don't get me wrong, Obi-Wan's a powerfull Jedi, but when it comes to raw fighting power, Mace's got him beat. This will be made clear in Ep.3 trust me.

 

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see what the big deal about Mace is. As a matter of fact, I think Sam Jackson is totally miscast as the stoic and virtuous Jedi Master. There is no question that Sam is a sweet actor and does his best with what he has in the Mace character, but he really hasn't had a lot to hang is hat on. Mace doesn't do anything in Episode 1 and sure he fights in Episode 2, but "this party is over." come on... Sam Jackson would have been much better used as a villain where he can be intimidating and pull off some of that Sam Jackson menace that made him a star in Pulp Fiction. Can you imagine Jules with a lightsaber?

 

I don't see what the big deal about Mace is.

No offense, but seriously though... what has Mace done in the first to movies that warrants all this attention. That isn't to say that he won't be totally sweet in the 3rd film, as well he should be because Sam Jackson is such an amazing actor. But so far all we know is that Mace is really tough and likes to pop off lame one liners. This character has tons of potential, but so far hasn't gone anywhere. As of right now Obi-Wan is an infinitely more interesting character.

 

I agree with you ricepice. I think Mace is overrated and Obi-Wan is the better character. Now, I'm not a Mace Fan (and for good reason) so I wouldn't know, but I think the most likely reason for him being so overrated is the fact that SLJ plays him.

I could care less who plays Mace. I don't even think of SLJ when I talk about Mace. I like him because he's bad@$$ and he is the "second baddest Jedi in the universe". He's also got a bad@$$ lightsaber. He ownz you all and you know it.

 

To me, Mace comes off as a smart-alec punk who thinks he's all that. But he's not all that, so there ya go.

He's entitled to have that attitude because, well, he IS all that.

He's the most powerful Jedi and the leader of the council. He ownz you all. At least he didn't go hide away on a planet for the rest of his life like that little green puppet.

Keep in mind this is not a thread to simply post how much you like or dislike Mace, but a thread to discuss what his role will be in the chapter 3 of the story.

 

Open your eyes and it will be clear, Mace will be sent to Dagobah to kill Luke. Luke states in Empire "there is something familiar about this place" thats because he was either born there or taken there as a child. Mace is sent to kill him. Yoda fights and kills Mace in the cave. Notice how sad Yoda is in empire when he tells Luke about the cave. Thats because he had to kill his best friend in it.

 

I LOVE SAM JACKSON, I LOVE MACE WINDU, BUT AS FOR MACE BEING THE SECOND MOST POWERFUL JEDI IN THE UNIVERSE, COME ON! ALL WE HAVE SEEN MACE DO IS BEHEAD JANGO FETT. THIS IS AFTER THE BOUNTY HUNTER GOT THE **** STOMPED OUT OF HIM BY THE REEK,AND HIS SUIT STARTED TO MALFUNCTION I MIGHT ADD. MACE B.M.F? I'M NOT CONVINCED.

Well, a few have already said it, so I won't worry about flames...but...

Mace is a traitor--but a reluctant one. He has been manipulated by Palpatine somehow... into, at least, deleting Geonosis from the archives.

I think Mace is a noble character, but, like Benedict Arnold, at some point saw that the Sith would take over, and is trying to work both sides of the street, trying to keep his friends alive, but ultimately fail.

i thought it was clear how powerful he was in AOTC but i guess some of you guys are pissed off that your precious Jango got his head lopped off like he was an extra lmao!!!


Mace will either fight Dooku or Anakin and trust me he will be made to look like he is unkillable until he ultimately dies

him dieing will kill two birds with one stone

it will show the complete fall of the jedi and will also make Obiwans comments about the purge in episode 3 all that more horrible...
