The saber fight scenes will NOT be added back into the movie, and may not even make it as deleted scenes. Remember the Phantom Menace and how everyone was thinking we would see Maul jump up after Qui-Gon onto the Queen's ship, then fall to the sand and make the cut to him rising up as if he just landed make more sense?? Wasnt there....

Remember the extended cuts of the Anakin/Obi/Dooku Duel from AOTC that we all wanted to see, including more of the dual sabers??? Not there....

There needs to be a new cut of the early Mace Posse confrontation scene and needs to be more of the Anakin entering the Jedi Temple and rampaging. We will not see these..... Instead we will get the rebellion formation scene, and some other useless stuff that dont add much to the narrative or make any scenes more exciting....(So we will all understnad why they were cut from the film theatrically)

I work in the pre-press industry and we are currently working on a job for Astro yogurt. It is a promo job for the dvd release of ROTS. It shows the DVD cover and has a contest stating:
    Celebrate the Legacy
    Free Saga Scene card inside
    Collect all 15
Plus enter to win A galatic family trip
You could win instantly thousands of cool prizes
    1 of 100 lego sets
1 of 500 Yoda plug and play games
1 of 10,000 star wars action flick books

As for the cover it has

Part of of suited vader's head in the top right hand corner
    Sidious face right below him
Anakins head larger and towards the middle
Obi wan (smaller than anakin) next to anakin
Then Padme in the bottom left.
The duel picture from the SW.com is dominant at the bottom, starting in the middle and extends to the right hand side.
Right above Padme and next to obi wan is a jedi starfighter, which is right below the title.

As I happen to enjoy my job - I will not be posting a scan. It is up to all you whether or not you believe me. Just trying to help.

Oh, I'm sorry, was that an attempt at humor? Something must have been lost in the translation. ;)

Good to see there are people that haven't been turned off by Star Wars as of late, everybody I've talked to recently can't shut up about Harry Potter.

The only lightsabers on the cover are the two belonging two anakin and obi-wan. As I said it is the same picture from the OS

One more thing, the box for the yogurt reads: "Go to www.celebratestarwars.ca or see inside for full contest details."

Well... i've got padme on my mind...so... yeah. If we havn't seen her with a lightsaber on screen...then im sure she's quite good at holding one off-screen. :p (yet han used one in ESB [face_plain])
I hate HP. I've seen the movies but they really interest me. Its not my type. lol

I don't even know what you're talking about anymore. ;)

flexo96, are you sure it's the completed artwork? I just can't see GL having a case without a main character holding a lightsaber (in the foreground I mean, you've mentioned two in the background but that just doesn't cut it). He's all about continuity. The other five have had them, I think the sixth will too.

    Flexo96,

'You were right . . . you were right about the ROTS DVD Cover."

Now someone just needs to get the word to LFL that a certain scar is missing from a certain actor's face??? :)

Missing the scar is amazing! I can't believe they'd overlook that.

The DVD cover art response thread should have been left open. Now this general DVD thread will be derailed with cover art discussion and debating. There's always been a seperate cover art discussion thread for the DVD's.

Right, we get it Deek, you don't like the new covers.

If you say something enough times, it makes it true, right?[face_plain]

What about it Neo? I enjoyed the first one greatly, so what's new with this?

Edit: I should read the entire description of the DVD before I ask stupid questions.

I have pre-evaluated it with a stamp of coolness. If it's anything like the first one it's going to be an incrdible game. They will most certainly add the Corescent spacebattle and the Wasp-nests of Utupa. Alderaan? Nah, they have no weapons there. But i'm sure the Order66 planets will be in it like the E.T. planet where the blue Jedi receieved the mob-hit death. If they keep the OT battles in and expand them with the above ROTS stuff: unstopable.

Although I spent most of my time being blown out of my socks. I didn't have much time to practice then.:(

Great cover, really great cover. I only hope that the discs and insert somewhat follow the pattern set by AOTC's set. Maybe you're not aware of this, but inside the actual case you don't see the same character more than once. Yoda is on the front of the insert, Dooku on the inside, Padme and Anakin on the back, Jango Fett on disc one and then Obi-Wan and Mace on disc two.

I'm hoping we'll see something like this:

Front of the Insert - Anakin fighting Obi-Wan
Inside the Insert - Sidious declaring himself Emperor
Back of the Insert - Padme and the Senators
Disc One - Grievous and Dooku
Disc Two - Mace and Yoda

As for deleted scenes, personally I'm hoping for:

    - the Delegation of 2000 meeting in Palpatine's office
    - the meeting in Bail Organa's office (which, has obviously been confirmed)
    - the discussion in Padme's Apartment
    - Obi-Wan visits Padme (at one point in the film, Anakin says 'Obi-Wan has been here hasn't he? and Padme replies with 'He was here this morning.', I think they'll show that scene)
    - the Anakin & Palpatine meeting at senate office building (after goodbye to Obi-Wan)

And then I want to see Qui-Gon (I know it's unlikely though) and Yoda on Dagobah.

I posted this on another thread, but perhaps I should post it here, too:
(I know that we've known about this deleted scene for awhile, but it's nice to have some indication of the number of other deleted scenes that are to be included on the DVD)

Return of the Sith Deleted Scene Shown

Source: Blake Wright August 5, 2005

Lucasfilm fan relations guru Steve Sansweet brought his Star Wars media show to Chicago this week, which included one of the half-dozen or so deleted scenes from Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith that will be included on the DVD coming November 1. The scene takes place in Senator Bail Organa's office. It is a meeting led by Bail and involves five other senators, including Mon Mothma and Padme Amidala, as they discuss the goings on in the Senate. Sansweet referred to it as the 'birth of the rebellion' scene.

The scene opens with an exterior shot of the Senate offices on Coruscant. Inside, the senators are discussing their options in light of Palpatine's chokehold on the Republic.

"We cannot let 1000 years of democracy disappear. Not without a fight," said Organa. "Senator Mon Mothma and I are putting together a group."

"That is enough," said Padme. "Some things are better left unsaid for now."

Padme is clearly put out by the separatist tones in the other senators' voices.

"Maybe you are not clear on the amount of corruption we are dealing with here?" said another senator.

Padme is not so quick to abandon Palpatine, who she states has been a loyal friend and confidant to her and Naboo when she was queen. The group decides that no action will be taken until all parties agree on the proper course and each of the six members of the meeting are sworn to secrecy regarding Bail/Mon Mothma's ideas. All agree.

Sansweet also discussed the two new "Star Wars" television shows coming up in the next few years. Lucasfilm Animation is ramping up fast for the coming 3-D Clone Wars cartoon. The 30-minute long episodes are slated to hit the small screen in 2007, and according to Sansweet will mix new 3D animation techniques with Japanese Amine, which Lucas is said to enjoy. Episodic development is well underway and Sansweet did not rule out the potential for animated full-length feature films in the future.

The "Star Wars" live action show, which will follow the adventures of lesser-known "Star Wars" universe characters, is said to be well behind the development of the cartoon. In a taped short, called The Journey, which Sansweet showed attendees, producer Rick McCallum said the aim with the live action show is to come up with about 100 hours of 'real character driven stuff.'

I'm going to be seeing Sansweet and his "Star Wars media show" the middle of October - perhaps by then, he will be willing to disclose more of these deleted scenes... [face_praying]
