Bail did sound a little gay...I think also, it was his mannerisms too. Watch his hands. He just moved a little wierd. But it's too bad, this was deleted. These scene helped tie the characters and it woulda helped the story. I liked Mon Mothma's performance. Alwell maybe they'll add all the deleted scenes in a new re-re-re-release.

No, that's just Jimi Smits, it's nothing to do with the character.

No they wont add them in.

In case you didn't notice, the actress playing Mon in that scene doesn't look like Mon Mothma from Return Of The Jedi, and she doesn't even sound like her either. I know this because I watched Return of the Jedi last night.

The reason those scenes were deleted, is not because they sucked, because they didn't. The reason they were deleted is because they made no sense, that is it makes no sense for a rebellion to start when Palpatine was still a good guy.

Obviously Palpatine was only PLAYING at being a good guy, but he was still a good guy at the points in the film where those scenes would be placed.

Palpatine's emergency power's were voted for by the senate and he promised to lay down that "power" when the "crisis has abated". Because the crisis had not abated at the points in the film where the rebellion scenes would go, the rebellion scenes would not make sense.

Also, if Palpatine knew about the rebellion, why didn't he have the "delegation of 2000" arrested?

The rebellion should form AFTER the Chancellor has not given up his emergency powers, not before.

Yes, it has a handbook like the other films do. The front has Anakin and Obi-Wan fighting with a lava explosion behind them. When you open it up you see Vader on the medical table while still shackled to it with a list of all the Special Features, Documenters, Featurettes, and game demos. The back has Mustafar in the background with the chapter list. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of it to give you.

I'm watching the six in a row (numerically of course 1 - 6) this weekend for the first time. I'm particularly interested in watching the Original Trilogy back to back with Revenge of the Sith. I'll report back in on Monday ...

Anyone else watching it this weekend?

Why make excuses for it? If this is what he did, he didn't do a very good job. Nobody ever accused JEJ of sounding "wooden". Though Hayden was better in ROTS than in AOTC, they did the best of a poor casting decision IMO.

Van Ling didn't do the animation on disc 2. That's why they aren't great quality. There were a LOT of corners cut on this DVD, the layer transition is mid scene, the deleted scenes weren't completed, the documentary is horrible, Van Ling didn't do the second disc, horrible stupid Yoda rap instead of bloopers reel, and no changes or tweaks to the movie itself (minus the transition removal).

Eh I recently watched ROTJ aswell and think Genevive O Reilly(correct name?) did a brilliant job of playing Mon Mothma, she nailed the character and got as close as you could get to the look and sound of ROTJ's Mon Mothma - her character should definitely have been included in the film! ROTJ did happen around 20+ years after ROTS, no one sounds or looks the same after that period of time!

I was kinda of dissapointed with the extras to be honest with ya. The movie itself was worth the money, Damn amazing movie, but the extras were nothing special. Within a Minute was good, but I have seen better documentaries on Star Wars.
The deleted scenes were ok. I would have kept the delegaton 2000, bwecause Palps plants seeds in Ani' head about Padme, which fits in perfectly. but other than all unworthy of being in the film.
Thank god Lucas left out the Yoda scene. It just would not have flowed right with the ending. A cool looking shot adds nothing to the film is still nothing no matter how cool it looks. Lucas didn't make the same mistakes as Jackson with 32 endings to Rotk.

Overall all the Disc is A
Just because the film is a freaking masterpiece.

The extras are a [face_beatup] stop holding out the goodies George)

Lucas didn't make the same mistakes as Jackson with 32 endings to Rotk.

Even though I think Peter Jackson is a superb director, you got that one right.
Once Sauron was destroyed, the story is basically over...don't let the movie
go on for 20 more minutes. Save that for the DVD, Peter. God only knows
how many endings KING KONG will have...I hear it's 3 frigging hours long.

I almost always enjoy the SW extras...but WITHIN A MINUTE could have been
about 20 minutes shorter and I wouldn't have complained.

Well I got around to watching that bonus disc ("Story of Star Wars") since I got the DVD from Wal-Mart & I took it out half way through. I should have known by looking at the package that it was going to be worthless, since all it that it consists of is 3PO narrating over clips from TPM & AOTC in explaining Anakin's story. I don't think I'll bother to watch the rest of it. Waste of $5!

The DVD of the film was very good. The overall quality of the transfer to DVD was excellent and perhaps even a little better than the quality of the AOTC DVD.

However, the bonus DVD did not seem to have as many features as the bonus discs for Episodes I and II. Several of the web documentaries were interesting but not much else. The Within a Minute documentary had some interesting parts but was little too long at almost 90 minutes. GL made the right call on leaving out the deleted scenes which did not add much to the primary story.

The bonus DVD did not even have any kind of blooper reel.

I agree. IMHO, Hayden was the perfect choice for Anakin. I saw it when I watched "Life as a House". There were certain things he did that just made me think "yeah, he's gonna pull it off".

IMO, I think that being in "Star Wars"would be very difficult because George Lucas has such a specific idea of the way that this story is supposed to be told. It must be very hard for the actor. I think that Hayden did a great job in what must have been fairly limiting in terms of creativity [BTW, in no way am I slamming Lucas, I think he's quite brilliant].

I think that "Star Wars" is just such a huge part of so many people's lives that it is IMPOSSIBLE to please everyone and that some people will find fault with it no matter what, just because the characters we have came to love as kids aren't there or are VERY different. Who could really deliver under such circumstance? I think that Lucas did a great job and for me, he fulfilled just about all my expectations.

I meant to say that the bonus disc did NOT have a blooper reel. I found this to be odd since Episode I, II, and the OT DVDs had bloopers.

    Best. DVD. Ever!

I have mixed opinions for the 2nd disc though. I liked the "Within a Minute" documentary, but it seems like there should have been more behind-the-scenes documentaries. Maybe in focusing on the making of just one 49-second scene, it makes it look like a small documentary, despite it being 90 minutes.

I absolutely loved these Web documentaries:

    1. "Becoming Obi-Wan" - Great comparison between Sir Alec Guiness and Ewan McGregor. The part I like the most is when it shows Ewan and Alec saying "Hello there."

    2. "C3P0: His Moment to Shine" - When C3P0 walks on to the stage, the movie becomes Star Wars, to paraphrase Lucas.

    3. "Endlessly Compelling: The Music of Episode III" - I always LOVE the part of the documentary that shows the music. The best part is when it shows the LSO playing "Battle of the Heroes". I just wish they didn't put scenes from the movie in between.

(I wish there was a longer documentary that just deals with John William's score! Maybe in a future Saga Collection Set...)

I was a bit disappointed that there isn't a blooper reel. I think Lucasfilm decided not to put one in because there are a few bloopers already in the Web documentaries (C3P0 falling down, twice; Obi-Wan striking a pose.)

I forsee that I'm going to be watching this DVD more often than the other Star Wars DVD's.

Well, watching the "Within a Minute" doc almost made me want to gouge my eyes out it was so boring. I actually dozed off it was almost completely uninteresting.
    Just my opinion though.

I agree with you! I was also falling asleep. The only parts I really liked was the vocalizations with Hayden and the actors' part.:)
