*shrugs* That's critics for you. Not all, but the big majority of them are pretty much sheep, following around what the other critics say.

Hey, ESB got some critical drubbings when it came out. But who would believe that nowadays?

David Lean had this to say about film critics:

"I wouldn't take the advice of a lot of so-called critics on how to shoot a close-up of a teapot."

    Ouch! (Spot on, however).

And calling someone that writes for Rolling Stone magazine a "film critic" is a stretch in itself; they're a media whore at best and a shameless self-promoter at worst. Magazines of that nature are about as useful as Albert Goldman's biography of Elvis - narcissitic wordplay, or as one person put it, "elaborate constructions of tinsel and mud"; they cannot be taken seriously.

the film critic may not have been a sheep.

I hated the film in the theater, watched it once and walked out on the second showing.

It has grown on me in DVD, the only thing i still can't buy is anakin's rushed turn, maybe in 30 more viewings i'll be numb enough to buy it.

Well since his turn actually begins with the Tusken massacre in AOTC,
you might want to start there, so have that DVD ready as well.

Please note, Star Wars films have episode numbers at the beginning
of them, similar to a *gasp* book! Everything does not happen
in isolation. The chapters build on each other and are part of a
    larger whole. Holy awareness!

    Context, ladies and gentlemen, Context.

David Lean had this to say about film critics:

"I wouldn't take the advice of a lot of so-called critics on how to shoot a close-up of a teapot."

    Amen.

My German Region 2 Special Features DVD sucks.
I got one on October 31st and the extras disc wouldn't start with the intro (Star Wars logo in the middle of the space battle). All it would show is the Cruiser's Bridge (with the animation of ships flying past it, complete with animations of lasers and explosions).

This really pisses me off. I want to see Van Ling's amazing creations. The menues themself work great, though, the TRANSITIONS with their amazing animation DO NOT. It simply goes to a fully activated menue all the time. Disc 1 works perfectly, menue transitions and all.

So I got in contact with Fox Germany and after a long time of trying to get them to exchange my Bonus Features DVD they refused, telling me such an error would not be possible. WTH?!

Anyway, I took the DVDs back to the store (same store) and got an exchange. Sadly, on this set the problem is exactly the same. No DVD menue transitions.
Now I got in contact with Fox again- and they haven't replied in two weeks about this issue.

I want a FULLY WORKING DVD!!!!
All previous five bonus discs worked fine and I tried it on my DVD player as well as two computers. Seems like the whole shipment that store got was affected with this manufacturing error.
Anyone in Germany who's menue transitions don't work- or do work?

I think the DVD rules just due to it clarity and sound and extras. the only problem i think i have with the extras is that i have already seen most of them on hyperspcae so in retrospect i ruined it for myself. i really liked the stunts and within a minute documentry footage.

i have to agree that they did not train for the sidious and mace fight, i mean come on this was a big fight in the movie so why not prepare for it ahead of time. that was stupid on there part for doing that, atleast train ian somewhat and not do it all on studio that day. but all the other fights were well done and put together.

You know, I'll go a little further than that - back up to the beginning of AOTC, when Anakin and Obi Wan argue in Padme's apartment. Anaking respects Obi Wan, but he's already becoming frustrated with the way the Jedi do things. It's like he want's the power, but not the rules. Even in the bar/diner with Padme when he is talking about possession and love. You can tell that he's almost mocking the Jedi rules.

Anakin loses control of himself when arguing with Obi Wan, but he has a total loss fighting the Tuskens. I thinks it's been building, then his mother's death is the snapping point. Losing his mother because of his allegiance to the Jedi is the definitive turning point. After that, he not only blames the Jedi, but he seeks the power that they can't offer.

It was great to find out how many DVD units ROTS has sold....and that's just in the domestic market. Worldwide? Maybe another 15 million units? A WW total of about 30 million units? Very good, indeed.

15.1 million.....that's 8.3 million more than BB....that's 2.5 million more than ROTK sold in 2004 (The Two Towers sold 14.75 million in 2003).....that's 5.2 million more that SM2 sold in 2004....and 2.9 million more than Spiderman sold in 2002. That brings a smile to my face. Take that, all you web-slingers !! ;) ...and 5.7 million more than HP3....

If you combine ROTS's numbers with what the other SW films sold in 2005, then SW was the #1 seller of the year. [face_dancing]

Looks like HP4 DVD is selling well, but ,IMHO, it won't top what ROTS sold last year. Time will tell.

If you want to get into all the prior things leading up to the "turn", you don't just need AOTC, you need TPM as well. Especially: 1) Anakin being separated from his mother, and 2) Mace and the Council initially refusing to train him. ( Check out his facial expression in that scene. )
Wow, you need the whole trilogy to get the full story, IMAGINE THAT. =D=

Yes. I have interactrual player and the DVD and everytime I try to acess the special DVD content, it never goes through. I get to that page where you have to choose which episode disc you have in. I select ep.3 and click the button but the page just refreshes with nothing happening and I can't get past that page. I've been trying for months now. Very dissapointing.
