What do I want on the Star Wars DVD?

My name in the end credits!




Heck, I was in the movie as much as Mon Mothma was.

 

Well pretty much all the news thus far about the DvD I'm happy with.

The main thing I want is the Qui Gon scene either included in the movie or included as a bonus atleast. I know they have to get Liam to do some dialogue for this but so what. Many fans want this.

Another thing I'd like is some definitive word from GL on 1 of the documentaries about the future of SW (ie...the 3d movies, the tv shows, the hd 6 movie box set, any more changes planned...etc...)

This way we all have an idea of what to look forward to for sure in the coming years.

 

Yes, anything on the future of Star Wars would be a good idea for the DVD, after all it is the last SW film to come to DVD....
I also would like a documentary to summarise the entire prequel saga, or something along the lines...

 

Yes, I too would enjoy something on the future of Star Wars, and the audio commentaries. I thought perhaps that more people could be included on the audio commentary as it's the last film, but I dont know...

 

i want:

1. the qui-gon scene (even though it was never shot)
2. more jedi deaths (like they did when introducing the podracers in TPM dvd. i want to see Shaak-ti)
3. birth of the rebellion
4. Yoda on dagobah
5. extended duel sequences (especially obi-wan vs. grievous, that lasted all of 5 seconds)
6. Dooku's line 'just because there are two of you do not assume you have the advantage' re-inserted

 

I seriously want the Yoda to Dagobah deleted scene, more than anything else. That scene with Yoda's Theme in the background by the marvellous John Williams would be amazing.

 

We will have till 2007 for the cartoon series?! Did'nt they say it would be next year when it came out?

 

With regards to the Qui-Gon scene. I really think we only need one line from Liam neeson to correct the forced feel of the Yoda-Obi conversation ("Training I have for you", etc)

Just before Bail interrupts Yoda's meditation I'd have Qui saying 'It wasn't your fault. Soon you'll know what to do." or something along those lines.

That's it. Problem solved.

Besides that I don't think we need any more dialogue or scenes.

 

Does anyone know if Hyperspace's "The Journey" two-part featurette will be on the DVD? I'm actually on that featurette in part 2 (I'm the one saying, "It turned me into a geek," and "It's a generational thing"). It made my day to see myself on Starwars.com and it'd be sweet if it made it to the DVD!

 

i want the commentary to be Lucas only talking about the movie. We have a whole DVD created to talk about the effects. I want to hear what Lucas has to say. I hate watching three scenes while some geek talks about color correction...jesus.

That Yoda scene I'd really like to see on there as well.

I am not sure though if I want it in the movie though......

In EsB we see Yoda again anyway so I like that as being the time in which we discover where he ended up story-wise. That is, if we were to view the movies 1-6.

You know, people keep saying that the "Qui-Gon and Yoda" scene was never shot. Duh! Even if it was in the film it would not have been shot. You have a voice over, a digital character and a digital enviornment. You don't even have to stick a camera anywhere for that.

Well, now that I got that out...

 

Does anyone know if this DVD will also be released on UMD format for the Sony PSP?

 

Another thing that might be cool on the DvD's is the OT cast giving their views on RoTS & PT overall.

 

More scenes of the Temple slaughter please!!!

 

I think most everyone wants to see more scenes from the Temple raid. Poor Shaak Ti.

Can someone explain to me what happens in the Invisible Hand Fuel Leak scene?, i have read and heard about some of the deleted scenes but not this one. Please explain.

 

Deleted scenes I'm hoping make it on the DVD:

The Senators Meeting in Bail's Office(everyone wants this one...it'll be on there)

The Conversation between Padme and Obi-Wan in her apartment(lovely scene in the script. It made sense for Lucas to cut it. If going to Utapau so urgent and important, why would Obi-Wan see Padme before he left. Granted, I'm glad Padme refers to it in the film two scenes later but it needed to be cut. But, on the page, it was a great little personal moment between the two.)

The Death of Shaak Ti in the Temple

The Dagobah Epilogue

Extended Conversation with Padme and Anakin on the Verandah(In that full scene, they discuss the sex of the baby. It was a cute, little parental moment between the two that I sorely missed in the film.)

Now, parts I hope make it back into the cut of the film on DVD:

Extended Dooku Duel

Extended Appointment Scene in Palpatine's Office(In the script, the scene lays out why Palpatine puts Anakin on the Council. Granted, in the Galaxies Opera House scene later, Palpatine in a roundabout way explains why he put him on there. But in the extended appointment scene, it also explains a bit more of the political situation on Coruscant that the film only hinted at)

Extended Duel of Mustafar(I don't want much, just little snippets here and there)

Alternate Take of the Force Choke(Lucas shot a more violent choke of Padme and I have a hunch as to why he cut it. Since this is DVD, gives us what you really wanted that particular moment to be like)

That's basically if for me in terms of scenes I'd like to see on the DVD, deleted or not.

Eventhough we all know Lucas is going to do an extended cut for the DVD, we should all be prepared for it to be maybe a small snippet here and there and not many new scenes. The reason I say this is because as the film stands right now, it's 1 minute longer than the Episode I DVD cut(which was extended by 2 minutes) and 1 minute shorter than the Episode II DVD cut (which was extended by maybe 45 seconds to a minute.) So, again, I wouldn't get my hopes up for a big extended but of Episode III. It's already a long film without the credits.

from what i remember, obi wan and anakin are surrounded by droids ( maybe even grievous? can't remember), and they escape by going to a lower level which is filling with fuel. the droids follow them but are reluctant to shoot, so they begin grabbing anakin and obi-wan to stop them from escaping. eventually, they do escape and a spark in the room causes an explosion which was supposed to rip the ship in half.

I don't know. Before the movie, I always wanted the "original" version of the Force Choke to be in the film...where Anakin tosses Padme and she hits her head...but I prefer it the way that it is right now. It has just the right touch of tragedy as she slumps to the ground and both Obi and Anakin look down at her. The swell of the music and Anakin's "You've turned her against me!" is so much more effective with the way it is now. I really hope that if this is included, it's just in the deleted scenes section and not reincorporated...as I think it will severely ruin this moment.

 

I just hope GL adds more to the Mustafar duel to make it flow better.

Ext. Mustafar Duel-including the punches seen in the 'Return of Darth Vader' feature on the OT DVD.
Dagobah
Doubtful, we'll see Qui-Gon.
Padm'e with Obi-Wan
Shaak Ti's death.
Dooku's "Just because there are 2 of you, do not presume you have the advantage."

 

when will they finally releas all the dvd details?
