I think it would be cool, and appropriate, if they had an offer for a free PT slipcover for those that bought the versions separately, ala the LOTR:EE box that was given away in the same fashion. Because you know that they're going to release the PT in box. A Saga box would be cool, too.

Let's see, I walk into a Super Wal-Mart at midnight of November 1, and walk out. No line, no wait. And I get it as soon as it comes on the shelf.

Anybody think there's a chance that they're gonna post that DVD update tonight?

The "Coming Soon!" ad is kind of driving me crazy.

Agreed, the OS is really taking their time with this.

    *checks the OS*

Well, they did update the site, but no DVD news. I don't think it'll be tonight, unless they sometimes update twice.

they will have delete scenes and some I think are:

1.Anakin and obi-wan moving through the fuel room of oil.
2.the senators secretly talking about a rebellion.
3.a gunship attack at the jedi temple
4.palpatines arrival to courasant with vader.
5.the extended ending with yoda on dagobah

I think there will be also funny scenes like:

1.A hot dog in the space battle with paper plains around
2.not babys being born but eggs
    3.bodyguard droids slip
    4.clone troopers riding catapillers
    5.not buzz droids, flys
6.general greivious falls apart as he begins to duel.
7.sidious throws large donuts to yoda
    8.sidious hood falls off again.

Given how much argument and disagreement there is on certain scenes, I wouldn't be surprised if a large chunk of the movie got Greedo'd. Yeah, you know what I mean. "That's not what they were supposed to think! Let's just cut out that scene of Yoda knocking the Emporer backwards over his chair so he doesn't look like a doof!"

Since the DVD is about to come out and some already have it, it's natural for this to become the Reactions thread... so go to town!

Got my copy of the DVD come through the mail first thing this morning. Living in the UK finally DOES have it's advantages! So far, I've scanned through a few of the documentries, and the first 20 minutes of the film, and the Duel. The picture and sound quality of the DVD is some of the best I've seen and heard, not surprising considering the format it was shot on - but also far better to AOTC in my opinion. :)

The deleted scenes are AWESOME - Why, oh, why weren't the formation of the Rebellion scenes left in? They add so much to the story in so little time. The deleted scene of Shaak Ti getting skewered isn't of the best quality, as it's pretty much an animatic, but the whole baseball "signal" piece(Sorry, I had to call it that because I can't really describe what they are doing, but they are giving each other signals - ie, stroking the face, scratching their foreheads) before cutting into the floor into the fuel tanks is quite amusing - although, the line:

    Anakin: "That was a bad..."

    Obi-Wan: "Mistake".

    ...is pretty naff.

Keep an eye out in the documentary "The Chosen One" around 5:20 - for a CGI Yoda in TPM! You just KNOW that was slipped in to say "Yes, kids. I'm doing even MORE work on TPM!" o_O

    [image=http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a121/TheOriginalGuru/Miscellaneous/CGIYoda.jpg]

I haven't spotted any "extra footage" in the feature yet (like the extended pod race in TPM, or in AOTC where Anakin talks to Padme about killing the Sandpeople).

just saw the deleted scenes- so heres my review

grevious kills shaak ti- the beginning was very very good, i thought shaak tis death was emotional- it was sad- basically anakin and obi walk into a hallway on the invisible hand says says "shaak ti" and shaak ti is sitting there- with grevious and his guards behind her, shaak ti says "master kenobi, i failed", then grevious says something about shaak ti being a "stinking jedi" and bends down ignites the saber trough her chest and she instatly falls over and dies- then obi and ani have a little exchange of what they should do- they then cut through the floor and land in the fuel room that is filling with water- now the color is slightly mesed up on my monitor so it was very dark and i couldnt see much but im not sure i liked the second half very much- it was a little too mission impossible for me- but the fist half was very good- overall good scene

bail apartment scene- very very good scene- in my option the best of the rebellion scenes- basically they just discuss about palpatine rulling over the senate more then he should-

padmes aparment scene- hmm this wasnt quite as good as the one in bails aparmtne- they just say how consulting jedi about this before the senate could be dangerous, still a good scene though

confrtoning the chancellor- it was good but in my option couldve been better- padme questions palpatine about him making more admentments to the constitution- but i felt they didnt question him enough, but i did like how the other senator showed fear and padme didnt(well not as much anyways)- the second half consists of palps talking to anakin about their being more to this then meets the eye

a plot to destory the jedi- not the best scene in the world- but it works- kinda redundant, they talk about arresting the chanceloor if he doesnt relinquish his emergency powers

exilhed to dagobah- hmmm this is a hard one, im not sure if i like it or not, well i mean i like it, but i dont think it wouldve worked at the end of the movie, you can see why they cut it out, its 36 seconds long, just shows the pd landing, then it opens and yoda looks disapointed

overall, good deleted scenes MUCH better then the TPM and AOTC scenes

Has any1 seen the Yoda Easter Egg. I wouldn't mind seeing it (hint, hint). Yes, I'm buying the dvd, but I'm crap at this 1138 thing on my dvd player. It never works.

I watched the deleted scenes last night, they were all great but the one i have to gripe about is the grevious kills shaak ti scene. Now the "baseball signals" between Anakin & Obi were cool, but you can tell the background is CGI through most of it.

I just drove down to my local DVD/Video store there to see if they were selling ROTS on DVD, not expecting them to be - BUT THEY WERE!! My ROTS DVD is now right infront of me!! What a rush!
I haven't watched much yet but I've seen the Mustafaar and Coruscant menu themes and watched the Obi/Ani vs Dooku duel and a snippet of Mace vs. Sidious and Yoda vs. Sidious. Picture quality is excellent! Sound quality is great too, there's not as much bass to the sabres as there was in AOTC but that's no problem, the sabres still sound great. I'll be watching the movie and some of disc 2 tonight, can't wait!

If there's anyone here from Dublin, Ireland - I got my DVD in Xtra-Vision, Stillorgan.

I just watched it last night. I'm having trouble remembering if the shot of Yoda on Kashyyyk after Anakin becomes Darth Vader was in the theatrical cut or not. Can anyone clarify?
