"Hey, you're not permitted in there- it's restricted! You'll be deactivated for sure!" :D

Hah, I knew that part of your article was a reference to something.

As in the past, I wrote up a Behind the Scenes blog for my buddy Ottegru.

So it's justifiedly very brief, but I can't just let the other 95% percent of my allotted blog capacity lie unused. ;)

T2Q, do we get those shiny Important Person screen names again? :-B

Yeah, I'll probably wait till Wed to hand out VIPship to the winners- that way any newer winners can make their presence known in the thread, as well as give people a chance to realize they've won ;)

    >>If the sequel to Spare Parts was ever published, it would feature the attack R5-D4 -- believe it or not -- worked into continuity.<<

Groovy :D So the sequel was written but unpublished? (presumably due to WEG's loss of the license) Or are you talking about what you lanned to write in the sequel but never did?

I had written outlines for two sequels, making the story of Aggy and Mace a trilogy. Spare Parts was to be followed by Small Change and Red Menace. But alas, the Journal folded before it could be published.

    Maybe someday...

So Silya Shessaun was elected to the Senate at age 20? Someone should tell Mon Mothma.

Yay, congrats to all the winners!!!

My favorite would have to be Corla Metonae, for the droid explanation. Awesome!

I find it quite amusing too - like what in blazes were they doing in an escape pod to begin with... naughty droids [face_whistling]

Yep, I found that bit of ambiguity to be rather amusing myself ::)

Oh my gosh...y'know, when Quest first posted his bo'sun entry here, I thought it was waaaaay too ambitious. C'mon, they're gonna let a fan write the story that kicks off the Droid cartoon and comic books? No way. How wrong I was. :p Now, all we need is Dark Horse to hire Quest to write a prelude for the Droids omnibus, like they did with the Rogue Leader comics... ;)

    >I personally like the Shadow Trooper entry, due to the fact it actually does a great job of inserting an action figure into continuity.<

I loved the invisible blaster rifle--there's some nice descriptions all 'round of the Shadow Trooper kit. Plus, they're tied to both the Storm Commandos and Blackhole's stormtroopers. Nice. :D

Did anyone notice that one of the new entries tied the established Praji character to the Praji in Evasive Action?

Bah! Another dry round for me... [face_frustrated]

Still, I like the Roger Guyett opera patron and the Alderaanian Bosun entry....

Well, I think several people tried to explain the droids absence in their submissions, so perhaps it was just a "will of the people" type situation? ;)

    Yeah that's probably true.

I dare say that Pablo Hidalgo might have engineered it that way. As he said in the submission guideline, "She also oversaw the carried craft aboard the ship, including escape pods."

I think his mention of the escape pods was put there deliberately for fans to attempt the "droid explanation" retcon. When the Tantive IV's escape pods are involved, every fan is bound to think of the fabulous droid duo.

Note that I am assuming that this "escape pod" info has never appeared in a previous source.

Anyway if this is indeed true then thanks Pablo for giving us this opportunity. And thanks T2Q for executing it perfectly :) Congrats!

    >> Note that I am assuming that this "escape pod" info has never appeared in a previous source.<<

As far as I'm aware, the only explaination we've gotten pior to this was in "The Ultimate Visual guide" where it mentions the Droids were "accidentally separated" from Antilles "...before returning to Captain Antilles' ship, the Tantive IV."

I just used that as a springboard for my entry, with a dash of potential Nym involvement added in for flavor ;) (the thought of Nym having to deal with 3PO, if only for a short period of time, cracks me up [face_laugh] )

    >>And thanks T2Q for executing it perfectly happy Congrats!<<

    Thanks ::)

Good work Quest and everyone else who got published.

I have to say thought that their choice for the Shadowtrooper sucked. All the ones I read here were far superior. I mean, invisible laser beams?!

Based off (or the in-universe predecessor of) Xerol Nightstinger technology from Hand of Thrawn, no doubt. ;)

Actually, wasn't the invisible blaster bolt first used in Black Fleet Crisis or Corellian Trilogy by a sniper?

I'm only familiar with the Nightstinger, but I haven't read much of that era. One thing I noticed was that the DC-19 seems slightly superior to the Nightstinger, despite being an earlier design. 10 shots with a cool-down period compared to three to five relatively rapid shots. Maybe the Nightstinger was more powerful, or something.

Hey, there, everybody. New to the boards over here. I'm Hedec Ga, one of many WTS Round 5 winners. I didn't do a whole lot for Senator Silya Shessaun, except add that section about her being offered to join the Delegation of 2000 and turning it down, believing it to be "tantamount to a Seperatist act" (which is actually word for word! Howabout that! All this time I've been trying to get published and all I needed to do was throw in the word "tantamount"! :))

Just wanted to say "hey" to everybody and introduce myself.

Random question: what does the Decimator's (from Clone Campaigns) attack look like? A continuous beam, or one of these glowy mothballs, or a mothball with a tail?

Little glowing sphere, then a beam going from that sphere to whatever it hits.
