I think that's because all we are getting right now is fanboy speculation, and the path of least resistance for fanboys discussing new characters is to make them the kid of an existing character.
Kenobi offspring from obiwan, unlikely. From a sibling he could have had that was not force sensitive.....maybe....
What if Korkie was actually Obi Wan's son, Satine kept him a secret so he would not be kidnapped by the Jedi and her sister raised him http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Korkie_Kryze
Possible. It would be great if they pursued the Kenobi offspring from this angle so we could finally see Mandalorians on the big screen.
Tatooine-spawned Kenobi offspring I think could work within the character as defined within the parameters of the movies and TV series. Satine-spawned Kenobi offspring, however, I do not believe works due to the era and emotional place that Kenobi is in during his interaction with Satine. Unless the last time we saw Satine wasn't *really* the last time we saw her. (trying to tapdance around TCW spoilers, you know what I mean.)
No, it won't. Assuming you live long enough (and I hope you do cuz you seem like a nice person!), you will watch every "episode" of the sequel trilogy regardless of if they have a character who is a daughter/son/grandson/granddaughter of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Obi-wan as a character works better as an old man, disillusioned by the present, and cut off from the past than a character whose legacy can continue forward. We already have Luke to do that. I think there is more tragedy without random offspring.
Whoever made up this absurd rumor would be having a good laugh that there have been 8 pages dedicated to discussing it. As if Lucas, Abrams or Kasdan would concoct a story where Obi-Wan had children. I'm sure the rumor monger chose the most ridiculous & least likely character to ever have kids as an experiment to see if even a rumor this lame would get some traction. Clearly this shows that anything will be taken seriously during this barren desert of no real news. Not blaming the Hollywood Reporter either. This smacks of someone within the production camp leaking ridiculous misinformation to mess with us.
just started reading kenobi, and whilst reading, a few things dawned on me 1) if he knowingly had a kid, why would he abandon that kid, and sacrifice himself on the death star - no parent would do that 2) how could he not knowingly have a kid, he's deep in the force, if he had a kid, he would be aware of the fact that's all for now
IF Obi-wan has any offspring in the Star Wars universe, then I would surmise that he used the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life.
They told Kenobi she was a dog, but he didn't listen to the opinions of others. He was in love and nobody was going to get in his way. Hence, the birth of his son, Obi-Wan Kenobi Jr
Obi-Wan, Jr. was already in RotJ: What if the descendant is Lando's daughter and we find out Obi-Wan's real name is Ben Calrissian. Lando being born after TPM to Captain Panaka's sister
In the recent novel titled ,"Kenobi", he does find a romantic interest, but nothing happens. But it could have. I wouldnt really have an issue if the kid was born after his exile.
