    Chicken and waffles is a delicious combination, I agree.

    Especially with the honey mustard sriracha sauce a local brunch place near me makes. That is super delightful!

    I like mine with syrup. :p

    I could cross-post this in the Craft Beer thread but I just opened up a can of Christmas Pancakes Imperial Milk Stout from Hardywood Brewery in Richmond, Va. It’s so good that I wish I had bought more than two pints. Hoping my local Trader Joe’s still has it after Christmas.

    So buzz-worthy pancakes in a can.

    I had a delicious pastry called a maple bar before a hike last summer. @HanSolo29 kept me from falling off the mountainside when the maple bar made a reappearance. [face_worried] I think it will be awhile before I can manage anything with that flavor, so it’s been fruit with my pancakes and waffles.

    I was a victim of the Peter Pan recall peanut butter of 2007.

    I became ill; at the time I was on a Xena forum, and someone posted info about the product code, which is how I discovered I was contaminated. It took me almost ten years before I could even look at it, and now I eat almost everyday. So you will get past this, (eventually)...

    Tonight I was watching the documentary The Real Charlie Chaplin, and there's a clip from what I gather to be from one of his films, and in that clip was a stack of beautiful pancakes..... and as I viewed those pancakes, my internal Drax voice proclaimed, Behold!
    Does anyone remember the story from 2010 about a theorized cell-phone-using time traveler who appears in Charlie Chaplin's film The Circus?
    This might sound a bit far-fetched, but I think someone besides myself also saw those amazing pancakes, and went to great lengths to discover and execute time travel In order to go back in time to eat that exact plate of pancakes. I mean.... I would.

    I have an old cookbook of sourdough recipes, possibly of Alaskan origin, and I seem to recall seeing pancakes of similar appearance to those in the Chaplin film. I'll have to dig it up. If sourdough pancakes were a popular item in Alaska, then perhaps the film these little movies stars appeared in was The Gold Rush. This style of pancake also harkens back to my childhood and eating at the diner next to the cabin where we stayed at during family ski trips. I'm now having flashbacks of staying with cousins, and being introduced to boysenberry syrup on pancakes.

    Current goals in life:
    Find out which Chaplin film featured those pancakes.
    Make some sourdough pancakes.
    Eat sourdough pancakes with boysenberry syrup.

    I'm now wondering if the time traveler in The Circus has read this posting, and it is I who inspired them in the future to also track them down and eat them in the past.
    The race is on.
