JCC On Golden Pond. Best movie ever

I was raised on watching the movie back then when I was a little kid.


Great movie to watch if you're a fan of Henry Fonda or seeing a young Dabney Coleman with hair and a nice beard

 

Amazing.

What is WKW and how is it better than Rabbit Proof Fence? It isn't.

 

I wouldn't place On Golden Pond high on a Greatest Movies List, but yes, it is a lovely, life-affirming film--one that miraculously veers away from maudlin sentimentality. I watch it with family every few years or so, and the movie always manages to hold me under its gentle spell.

The towering work of cinema, by the way, would be the first two Godfathers. Nothing will ever dethrone Coppola's masterwork.

You know. Wang Jia Wei, aka Wong Kar Wai. Auteur. Best filmmaker ever. Maker of the best films.

Whilst Rabbit Proof Fence is indisputably the most important Australian film made, and has the wonderful David Gulpulil in it, I cannot compare it to the art of In The Mood For Love.

I am also frankly surprised - pleasantly - you have seen it.

 

Teal. Best color ever.
If you don't like teal you don't know the first thing about colors.

 

It is my favorite Star Wars movie.

 

"Youth" was sort of the "On Golden Pond" of 2015. A bit overrated, a decent swan song for a fine aging actor, and Jane Fonda is equally annoying in both though thankfully with less screen time in Youth than in OGP, as the fanbase calls it. Visit us at boards.fondasforever.net.

 

I wouldn't be. You haven't even heard his reasoning for why he thinks it is any good. I'm sure it is very stupid and unrelated to the film.

 

Oh probably. The red sand of the Outback is probably warmer and closer to a fruit he once threw out than the usual ochre tones of other deserts.

 

We have a family cabin in Maine where we dive off the dock and listen to the loons. The first time I saw Golden Pond was in Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm, and it was like going home for two hours.

 

Was it better than "The Four Seasons"? I just don't know?

 

The "Four Seasons"? Good New York restaurant. However I prefer The Russian Tea Room!
