Speaking of Miss Tyler. In Lord of the Rings, her voice was dubbed in by a more distinguished voice actresses, right. I had to be! There?s no way that Smurfette voice of hers can get that elegant.

Yeah, that was her. I know because I read that she couldn't memorize more than one 'elvin' line at a time and they had to cut away each time she spoke.

Somehow I find an alien creature scratching a woman and tearing off her clothes more plausible than an alien slug carrying around a human woman becuase he thinks she's sexy.Call me crazy.

Iron Maiden has campy songs but I still love them.

Liv Tyler said something bad about Star Wars? Oh mah goad! Oh may gaud! Hold the phone! I'll e-mail Josh Griffin to tell him to close the boards down!

If she says it's bad, it's gotta be true!

Yeesh. One actress thought AOTC was "camp", so you hate LOTR. Um...how about some perspective here? I thought that The Fellowship of the Ring was a better movie than AOTC. This is my opinion. Do you hate me now? Oh wait. Of course not. I'm not a celebrity.

Sorry if I was a bit blunt, there, but I think this has been blown way out of proportion. Both movie series are great. Let's leave it at that.

...So why are we caring what a pretentious fishstick who can't act to save her hide thinks? ?[face_plain]

I'm not sure if she was praising it or bashing it; to be honest...I don't care.

The "We laughed through the whole thiing" quote is kind of disturbing though, because anyone who can laugh at the Tusken slaughter and the confession scene is someone who I would never want to meet.

Sometimes I wonder how you people still in school handle your book assignments when you spend so much time at this place.

Fairly easily for myself; I post on here mostly on the weekends and never forsake my homework just to get on the 'net.

And for the record, I'm quite the bookworm, too. [face_plain]

It's rather sad to see that there are people who don't believe Shakespeare or Homer are worth reading. *sighs*

    1) Liv Tyler and Natalie Portman are both very hot looking women, BUT the actress who played EOWYN in the Two Towers is beyond beautiful and puts the rest to shame.

    2) I thought 'Fellowship of the Ring' was a real good movie, but the extended cut made the movie amazing! Why the heck wasn't this version of the movie released? It's a whole new cut of the film, with alternate takes, and different music cues! Everyone must take the take to watch it.

    3) Merry and Pippin maybe have been comedic relief in 'Fellowship', but thats the point. The stuff they go through change them. In Two Towers they become serious and in Return of the King they become warriors! Can't wait for that. Though I cannot forgive Peter Jackson for ruining Gimli in Two Towers.

Well, the reason I get a little ticked of at this is that it seems like she's, well, bashing Star Wars. As an actress she should have a little more professional courtesy. If she really want's to laugh she should take a look at some of her own acting achievements.
That said I'm not entirely sure if she did say that in a negative manner, which makes my little rant quite unfair on her, but if she did mean it like that then it's valid so I'll post it.

    reading "The Silmarillion"

DANG! I'm impressed. I've tried three times in my life to get all the way through that sucker and.. I.. Just... Can't.. make it (sighs putting the book back down.) I've always admired people who could get all the way through it since there is tons of great info in it.

I disagree. Have you never watched a scene in some film that's MEANT to be serious and dramatic but that has been executed so poorly that you had to laugh? Happens all the time.

Plus - I don't think Miss Tyler was LITERALLY laughing throughout the whole film. She meant that she was laughing very often. It's a figure of speech.

btw, I'm very impressed with Liv Tyler since I saw her work in the LOTR movies, especially the voice. She's a fine actress and definetely beats the walking wardrobe Natalie Portman.

To me, it sounds like she enjoyed it. Just because she didn't refer to AOTC with solemn reverence, it doesn't mean that she didn't like it.

I think I enjoy the PT and have no problems with it because I too do not regard Star Wars with solemn reverence. And anyone that does needs to stop being childish and grow up.
