I had a chance Tuesday to watch all 3 DVD's on my day off and most of the extras. Although I did like some of the changes I had heard about I was still skeptical about a few of them (mostly ROTJ). I must start of by saying this.....after seeing all 3 films back to back on DVD, it was like seeing them for the first time, only with a few changes. I loved watching them all.....these discs are absolutley beautiful as far as picture and sound quality. On to my thoughts of the movies, I'm going to focus mainly on the changes:

    Episode IV: A New Hope-

I won't lie, this is probably the most tinkered with of all 3, but that was the case with the Special Editions. The Han/Greedo scene is better...but I won't, and I know alot of us still won't be happy until Han shoots first...again.

The Jabba the Hutt scene is another one of those that will just never be the way anyone wants it to be. ROTJ Jabba is MY Jabba..I don't care how good the CG model is.

    Other changes I noticed:

-Landspeeder into Mos Eisley (much better than SE)
-Enhanced sound made by Obi-Wan to startle the sandpeople (This I was not expecting, but thought was cool)
-Newer model/ more detailed Death Star (I'm surprised none of the other reviews I've seen have mentioned this, but if you notice the Death Star has more detail now...more lights, and other various things....I have no problem with this change)
-Luke's lightsaber green? (this was weird to me but as you see him training aboard the Falcon, the first few shots of the saber appear green, maybe its just me)
-Newly enhanced lightsaber blades (Thank you George, this is one of my favorite new things about these DVD's)
-Death Star explosion (Again, call me crazy, but I believe the Death Star Explosion "ring" is all white instead of that fiery yellow, and also has an enhanced, more booming sound effect as well.)

There are other various little sound effect and visual effect changes...but I wasn't trying to go over the thing with a fine tooth comb. In the end, this is still my least favorite of the 3 orignals with Empire being first and Jedi second but I still love it.

I'll post my other DVD thoughts tomorrow or so, its late, and I need sleep. If anyone else wants to post their thoughts about the DVD's, I'd love to read them, if anyone else has watched them yet. Like I said, I'm the big loser who took the whole day off to watch them :p

I have DTS/ Dolby 6.1 audio and let me say first that the dialog has NEVER sounded cleaner, crisper and more understandable then I have ever herd it.
Darth Vader's voice alone make a HUGE stand out and IMPROVEMENT .They tweaked his voice a little and its much deeper and darker. I did notice they added some more dialog to it. When we watch it together I will point out some of the added dialog.
Over all I think this vision is my favorite of ALL!!
