Fanclub Oya manda!: The Mandalorian/Republic Commando Fan Club

Haven't posted here for awhile but wanted to ask what you folks think of the Jango Fett issue where going to get with the upcoming Age of Republic?

 

It will honestly be the first canon Jango content outside AOTC, so I think it will be pretty cool and also probably give us a good idea of whether Almec was being genuine or just prejudiced with his line about Jango not being a Mandalorian, canonically speaking. Either way, I'm pretty excited for it because, like Padme, Qui-Gon, and Dooku, Jango is a great PT character that has been tragically underused.

 

Agreed one of the most underrated Star Wars characters. Open Seasons is still my favorite Star Wars comic besides Republic and I hope decent sales from this issue brings about a similar mini series even if he's not mandalorian.

It will be revealed that he is just a background character but they release the image of him just to create a fan storm, the main characters will look nothing like that

 

I can neither confirm nor deny that I was consulted heavily before the creation of this character.

 

I feel a bit stupid asking but is this a live action shot?

 

Yes, this is the new live action show that has been rumored for some time. Now we're hearing that Filoni is directing the first episode which is wonderful news to my ears. I think he did a fantastic job of salvaging what he could of Mandalorian lore from Legends while weaving it into the new continuity

 

Did anybody else think that he had the upiside to be as recogniseable, revered and memed as Cad Bane and Boba Fett? He has the awesome armor and the ultimate killer thing going like those 2 while just carrying himself in a little bit different.from those guys.

Too bad nothing was ever done with him.

A language question, how would you turn a person name into a collective noun*? Like how Gardner (name) is turned into a collective noun as Gardnerian/s

* I have no idea if I use the right grammatical terminology

Lot's of excellent tid bits that came out of the Mandalorian panel. I'm excited to see where it all goes.

 

Jon Favreu said it is set 5 years after ROTJ.

 

I've never gotten my hands on a copy. I've wanted one for a long time.

 

So it's the acquisition that got away? You need to rectify that.

It really is amazing, one of my favorites and a "go to" reference for much of my bounty hunting and Mandalorian role play.
