I love Omar. He may be a recovering crackhead, but the actor who portrays him has excellent range and really gives us the feel that he is, well, a recovering crackhead. Im glad Omar will be around for season six.

I was on the official OZ site yesterday and I heard a rumor that Adebisi's ghost will be coming back to be the new narrator. ;)

Nah, but I did hear another rumor that at least seems plausible. I heard that Poet will become the new narrator. I will go back to the OZ site and check and see if it has been confirmed.

You know, even though I hate Poet, I can kinda see it...

Anyone else surprised that Pancamo didn't just drift off and die ? Maybe Chuckie will make a full recovery, especially since it looks like Urbano will be going to Death Row or solitary at the very least.

Well, i watched it on its midnight re-run..and now I am watching it again as I post..i guess kinda to remind me of my thoughts...First of all I have to say, I found the scene with Ryan & the father Meehan very emitional..ok, now lets go in order of the show..forgive me friends, but I have a feeling this is gonna be a long one. :D

Ok, Robson....we see him get out of Solitary, we see him rejected by Vern ...we see him buy the drugs & try to cut out the gums...what happens next??? does he get thrown in the hole?? Solitary maybe?? sent to a hospital??? in the Prision Hospital?? In the Psych ward...WHERE IS HE!?!!?!?!

Miguel/Glynn/Parole hearing - umm, ok he was convicted of his original crime, then he took part in the riots, killed Carlo & George..then we can't forget about Rivera..plus his Psych issues.. I was told once by a lawyer that you can't go for parole untill you have completed your 1st sentence, then you start working on your next, unless they are concurrent terms, & i have a feeling that they were not concurrent terms. So, i had a hard time believing that he would be up that soon for a parole hearing.

Pancamo, what the hell?? he is in a coma, so he is as goos as dead, Frankie is gonna be either dead, alot of people liked Agustus ( I too will cover this a little further down) or he will be in Solitary for life. So it would seem the Italians are screwed again, cause once again if Frankie is in solitary for a prolonged period, they won't have a true leader.

Omar...sigh..Omar....whats up with that?? he beats the living daylights out of Wolfgang. Everyone remembers when Omar & Said 1st became podmates, Omar said the voices in the walls (or something like that) make him do what he does..so i think Omar is about to take the ultimate downward spiral.

I felt bad for Rebadow..with little Alex

Agamemmon..What was that?? I guess that means she slept with someone else..that was awful.. I felt bad for both of them

Then Brass walks back in..& thats the end of that story?? does he get the job back..what happens????

I have a feeling the fall out from Beecher ratting out Vern is gonna just shake all that bad blood back up. And I wonder if he will actually stay in Solitary this time, or if he will be out & back in his cozy cell in Unit B by the start of next season..but heres my question...Vern runs the mail room, his buddies work in the mail room, now if Vern gets thrown in Solitary, they must know that Beecher is the one that did the ratting..now with Beecher delivering the mail, wouldn't you think he would get killed by one of them?

What the heck was up with the whole Keller & sister Pete??? I didn't think that scene was necessary, but I liked the conversation between Tobias & Said when they talk about God, i thought that was good.

And what about Lopresti?? he hade an amazing recovery from that dog attack to the jugglar.

And what can they do for Cyril, i would imagine that they don't have much time to save him if he is gonna be dead in a month...no appeals can be filed, argued & decided upon in a month...i wonder if he will get a stay cause he hasn't exhausted all appeal processes?? In any rate, as much as i like Cyril & Ryans relationship, i agree that story line has gone about as far as it could go. & that scene with Ryan was sad, all that emotion he had bottled up, he finally ler out, & for the 1st time he showed his vounerable (sp?) side.

And SO I guess that leads us to Agustus. I will once more admitt I was weepy at the end, :_| I really think that if they killed
Agustus (and I think he is gone) they are gonna need to fill that space, & PHLUZZE tell me that the Adabisi comment was a joe..no ghosts coming back to haunt..If thats true, then change the name to "Days of our Prision", or "All my Inmates" & put on at 2pm on CBS...& I don't just mean the narrator role, I mean the one who doesn't blame anyone else for what landed him in Oz, cause Rebadow & busmalis won't beabl to fill that spot.

Now Burr is gonna be on a tear..declaring war on everyone. he ma

I felt that the season finale was lackluster at best, and certainly did not feel like a season finale, especially an OZ season finale. Anyhoo...

TJD : Yeah, the Adebisi thing was a joke I had read on the official OZ site. I also saw a rumor on Poet becoming the new narrator, which, in a strange way, I can actually see happening. If I hear any confirmation I'll post it immediately.

As for Luke Perry, you may be right that something 'bigger and better,' may have came along. Ive been seeing promos for a new sci fi series he will be starring in on Showtime, titled, ironically enough, Jeremiah. Maybe when Cloutier disappeared he went into a post apocalyptic future and ended up becoming the star of his own series ! ;)

Oh, and as for 6FU, Ive posted some minor spoliers over in the official thread. Check 'em out !! :D

DVader that sounds like the plot to Highlander II ;)

Ok, Overall I think I'd say that I had some issues, but not as many as most here.

The Lopresti issue did bother me a bit.

I saw the incident with Wolfgang and Omar as a positive thing. He was trying to protect Said at any cost, and then realized that Said wouldn't want him to go that far and saved Wolfgang. I think this was a major growth moment for him. I too have often been annoyed by his character, his hyper-kinetic way is just too much for me, but for the first time I found something in his character to like and respect.

The Augustus thing hit me pretty hard too. I mean, I really figured he was the victim, but no way did I think they'd kill him. Of course, when TJD and I were talking before we saw it, she was convinced he was gonna die because Fontana always gives us something we think isn't possible (remember Adebisi, Bricks, the fire, etc.)

The storyline with Ryan and his sister really hit me very hard. I got a bit weepy at that as well. instead of seeing from left field, to me it seemed to explain an awful lot about who Ryan is, and why he is. It also surprised me quite a bit, because I was convinced he was gonna end up killing Meehan before the episode was done. Now, it looks as though Meehan will be his salvation.

Have we ever seen Death Row this crowded? I think it's setting up for something interesting to go down there, but I can't tell what.

I think Verne going to solitary, the Italians losing Chuckie and Urbano, and the death of Augustus is going to send Burr on the tear of all time. Morales will probably be dead within 2-4 episodes of the next season, and I suspect that, ironically, this could be the salvation for Miguel. He was supposed to be an informant for Leo at one point, I could see how he could help Burr in the elimination of Guerra and Morales.

Given the new series on Showtime for Luke Perry, I doubt it will happen, but I was half expecting that this meant Cloutier would be the new narrator. I almost feel as though they need to bring in someone new to do that role, rather than use an existing character....although Poet could be good at it.

Ok, I'm rambling now. I'll be back later.

I found it odd too that Pancamo was basically left out of the episode. Stop dragging him on...if they are going to kill him, just do it.

Perhaps he asked to be kept in the hospital ward. He's got a lot of $hit going on with the Hells Angels and Pagen riot that happened out here last week.

Not sure if I like the idea of either Poet or the ghost of Adebisi, however stupid that may sound, as the new narrator. What about having a different character doing it every week. That might be nice for a change.

I still dont believe that Hill is dead. OZ has tricked us before and Im sure they've got some more surprises left up their sleeve.

In any event, the season ended better than it began.

Ok, after watching it three times...here is my opinion.

Cloutier: Now, I had read that he was going to be back for this past season. We got maybe 2 shots of him. WTF??

Robson: You know, I honestly thought that he was going to buy it in this episode. But it looks like he is here to stay. Him cutting off his gums is just a testimony of how crazy that man really is. Gosh that was GROSS!!!!!!

Vern: One of my favorite characters to hate...I am very happy to see him in solitary. I think that in the next season..the arians mail room stint is going to end.

Miguel parole hearing: you know, I still did not feel good about him even after he trained that dos (incidentaly, I think the dog episode is not over, they spent too much time on that whole story for it to be over just like that..) he may have done one thing good..but the man is still a psycho. I have a hard time believing that he would have even been given a chance for parole.

Ryan and Cyril, you know, I just would hate to see Cyrils character get killed off..that man is such a gifted actor.

Omar..boy have I grown to love this character. This actor is awesome...and he has brought so much to this character. In his mind...he did good. (I think he did too)

Macmanus...need some time off. He went off on Omar, and it was not right. I feel so bad for him because EVERY SINGLE inmate he reached out to...has failed one way or another. one can only take so many failures. He is going to lose his **** some day.

Augustus...wow. I honeslth did nto see this coming. But, I do not think they will replace him as the narrator.

"I can feel my legs" camera pans out to his lone wheelchair...he does not need it anymore. The irony.

Well..all in all, this was not the bast of season finales. Now, I had a complaint about the SFU finale..I thought that everything was tied up too neatly..well I have the opposite to OZ. They explained and ended nothing. Culd it be that I can never be pleased? or is HBO needing soem ideas.

As I said in earlier post, the Oz season finale reminded of the Sopranos third season finale a great deal. Both finales had well hyped, fairly obvious 'shocking' deaths, (Jackie Jr / Augustus)as well clearing up literally no plotlines and instead leaving us with more questions than answers.

What I find the funny is that, this season, the R.I.P. section over at the official site is going to have very few inmates on it at all, probably the least so far.

I think that the ending of the sopranos season worked well in the overal arch, in the end....and I think it will work here. As long as they do come back to some key issues (i.e. Cloutier).

There have been other times when things were left hanging in an "unfinished way" before on Oz (I think of Gamba Kufu and his giving hte gun to Adebisi for example). The season wasn't terrible, it wasn't great, it's clear that the show shines best when Fontana does the writing himself.

Miguel has had his bad/dark times, but I think in the end he is a decent guy who has been put in the worst of circumstances (if he didn't blind Rivera he would have been killed). The loss of his daughter led him down such a dark road and being put into solitary at that time was the worst thing that could happen to him. I honestly think he's finding himself again...but again he is still in Oz and will have to do things that are ugly.

I really think that next season Busmalis will return to his fiance. He was in shock. What an awful way to find out why she missed the wedding. Do you think she got married to someone else or was it a one night stand that led to the pregnancy?

Probably she got knocked up by some dude during a one night stand. I dont know, but the character of Norma always struck as me as being a ****** idiot.

And now, a few OZ tidbits...

I dont know if anyone has seen commercials for the upcoming Fox series The American Embassy ? Im not sure, but Im pretty sure that the woman who played Patricia Ross is the female lead. If it is her, she looks pretty damn good ! :D

I was flipping onto a repeat of Law and Order and the lawyers were watching a press conference on TV. Tom Madrosian (Busmalis) played the mayor... :D

And, in perhaps the strangest casting I have ever seen...

I was watching ER last night and I was about to flip during the commercial when something, or rather, someone, caught my eye. Our favorite psychotic inmate, James Robson, was starring in a KMART commercial !!! He was playing a dad with his son, and was even wearing one of those baby papooses on his chest !! I couldnt ****** believe it was him. I called my girlfriend and told her and she was shocked, too !! Hard to picture this dude playing a suburban dad when I just saw him try and cut off his gums with a straight razor less than a week ago. :D

    UPPERS !!!!

The DVD is 3 or 4 discs (not sure) and it is like 48 bucks.

Who will die next season? Hmmm. Well, I think it's safe to say that it isn't easy to guess on this. I suspect Pancamo may not make it. Urbano earned some major stripes for that move and will be the new leader of the Sicilians. I also suspect that Guerra will go down before the end of the year.

Just decide to bring this mofo back from the dead... :D

To answer your question from about two months ago, KR, yes , I have the first season one DVD. My girlfreind just bought it for me for our anniversary, and Ive watched each episode at least 3 times already. :) One little thing I noticed was that Mondo Brown (one of the homeboys from season 4) was actually in Em City way back in season 1, even though they said he'd only recently been convicted before season 4 ! But, whatever, its a minor mistake.

Anyway, the real reason that I resurrected this thread is because I recently found out the official word that yes, next season, season 6, will indeed be the last for Oz. At first it upset me greatly, but after I put things into perspective I decided that maybe its for the best. After all, last season was a mjor dissapointment and big sign that TF is running out of ideas. Id rather the show go out on top then drag on for four more seasons as a shadow of its former self.

I think next season will turn out to be the best season of Oz yet, with old rivalries and feuds finally being put to rest -- literally, in some cases. I see Burr going on a rampage searching for Augustus' attackers, and Poet eventually dying at Burr's hands; Urbano will either be killed or sent to Death Row -- either way, he's a dead man for what he did to Hill; Alvarez will finally kill Guerra and once again take over the leadership of the Latinos after Morales is found to be responsible for Hill's death; The Aryans will kill or seriously injure Omar and it will cause Said to snap yet again, killing Robson in a most painful way; Kirk, Keller, Hoyt and Cyril O'Reilly will all die at some point during the season; a heartbroken Beecher will take out all of his rage on Schillinger and finally kill his longtime tormemter, but not before he and Rebadow somehow go free; Ryan O'Reilly will live and continue to play his games of survival, but his heart will be out of it after Cyril's death.

So, lets have all of the other OZ fans who used to post here come on back with some final season predictions ! :D
