I don't "like" that you're having aches or side effects. I do "like" that you went to a reasonable doctor who agreed, and that you correctly reported it to VAERS. It's probably nothing serious, but bringing awareness to it so it can be looked at is a good thing.

Yeah same. I hate to add to anyone's hesitancy about the vaccine. It's definitely still worth it. But hey, maybe it was a weird lot of vaccine or something.

Yeah so my doctor thinks what happened was about a week before I got the vaccine, I walked 5 miles a day for 6 days at Disney World. So I was a bit sore in the legs. Then got the vaccine and she thinks maybe the immune response of acheyness just affected my legs more than usual since they were sorta already weak a bit. At least that's what she thinks based on what she's seen with side effects.

My mother got a touch of vertigo this week a few days before she was to be vaccinated. He doctors told her to wait a bit for that to settle down. Also she’s glad it happened before the vaccine or she’s be wondering it they were connected,

The RSV vaccine is really hard to get.
-my dad is over 60, but CVS denied him because he doesn't have Medicare
-I'm immunocompromised and my doctor sent a prescription and recommendation to CVS that I get it, and that was denied too

It's not added to a lot of insurance company formularies yet. I had my COVID booster on 9/15 and had to pay out-of-pocket. I called them on Friday and they said I could submit for reimbursement online starting 10/2/2023 (tomorrow). Good times and a lot elevator music while on hold to get the answer.

I'm amazed your brain survived the hold muzak.

Meanwhile, covid day 3, it gets my wife so we both now have it, but with different individual effects. It is a weird bastard virus. Hopefully get rid of the sore throat it started yesterday, but easily the weirdest is this wave of tiredness that fuzzes my head. Nowhere near what it was Friday night but not gone either.

Also CVS being owned by Aetna causes obnoxious insurance issues. I had to reschedule my Covid booster to Walgreens (and got really, really lucky as the only one in walking distance just got a supply) because UHC informed me my shot wouldn’t be covered if I got it at CVS. Murrica.

It's entirely possible that it comes down to the specific plan or that the representative I talked to got a detail mixed up, but you can understand that I wasn't going to chance it when I was told, outright, that I had to go to Walgreens or my PCP for the shot to be covered. Preaching to the choir, but the whole system is stupid, like why should anyone even have to check this ****? Yet here we are.

I love the US healthcare system. Realists say we can't ever change it.

Very very superior to just having an NHS number that works for everything right?

    Numbers.

But, due to too many ****wits using it when they don't need it and politicians screwing the funding and staff salaries, the 999 number is under massive pressure.

Next year, my premium goes to $528. Back in 2014, it was $214 or $237.

The kids got their COVID vaccine last Thursday when we just took them to the doctor as our daughter was having some dull shoulder pain that wasn't going away (muscle soreness and a slight pinch nerve from gymnastics which both are doing better) and while on the phone they mention they had the shot and said we can bring the kids if wanted to get it done then so we did. Have a follow up to get their flu shot at the end of the month. My wife and I get both our COVID and flu next Saturday morning as I want us to have a few days to recover just in case as I heard this one hits a bit harder then last year's.

    Sure we can. Here's how:

From the same gentleman as above: "A premium is what give you the right to pay your deductible.".

These changes make senses and sound really good.

How would they effect your income as a doctor?

Raise it by removing the distortions that exist due to the presence of so many middlemen. Only about $.12 of every healthcare dollar goes toward physician salaries. The idea that doctors making too much money are the reason behind high healthcare costs is the result of a decades-long, well-planned out political scheme designed to demonize a professional group with little-to-no political clout. And it’s worked beautifully. The devaluing of physicians on multiple levels is something I encounter daily in my practice. Statistically speaking, workplace violence against healthcare professionals has risen dramatically both during and since the pandemic.

I didn’t mean to imply overpaying doctors was the problem. I know it’s not. Your profession is in a similar position as teachers or really any specialized career requiring education in the current political climate that tries to devalue anyone with jobs requiring hard earned expertise.

The video you posted was basically saying the money was going to the bureaucracy and made the situation as hard for medical practitioners as patients. I didn’t hear anything in the video about compensating the actual doctors, nurses, the individuals working with patients and keeping medial faculties operating.
