Co-worker has covid. Luckily I don't go into the office.

On the down side both our kids are sick. Baby has double ear infection and is on antibiotics. Wife and I are now coughing and have fevers. Not covid though. This month was horrible. Went from surgery, cold, antibiotics, then kids getting sick, and now sick again.

Internal bleeding hemorrhoid, which was not healing and causing me to be severely anemic. My blood levels were at 6.5 (at times) which is the line for organ failure. I've had 5 blood transfusions since March and was even hospitalized for a few days. So they fixed me up. No more bleeding. Feeling better on that front.

Good you got to the root of the problem (no pun intended).

Got the flu shot this morning. Took 1000 mg of Tylenol right after but definitely felt tired when I tried to go running later. Starting to feel punky now. Time for low-dose ibuprofen, then date night with the wife.

Dang several friends have COVID again from going to a concert. I have a concert here in a few weeks. Luckily I was just able to get more KN95 masks today so... Yeah gonna be as careful as I can be.

I suspected this was going on with you based on some of your recent opinions about Star Wars.

Im kidding. Sorry to hear this was happening so serious. Glad you are feeling better!

Had to pick up a prescription at the pharmacy up the street this morning and they had a sign up about the flu jab. Place was pretty empty so I was able to get mine as a walk-in rather than having to make an appointment. So far just a bit of a sore arm.

Well, I've stayed clear on the LFT and my wife got her first clear result yesterday.

Despite that and many invitations to do so, it has yet to **** off and die. But it's going.

Okay. So, I've been volunteering at this Sandwich-Making Tuesday event since March. It's an event we have at FCC Eugene to supply food for the homeless. And this guy was wearing a mask. He had recovered from a cold, he said. Mostly recovered. But I got a cold from him. Thankfully, I didn't have any symptoms when I was helping to teach the youth about atheism on Wednesday evening. Nor was I close to any of them. Symptoms began on Thursday morning.

Then...I was like, "Oh, crap." But it's been a mild cold until last night. So, I got a Covid test. Rapid Covid test concluded that it was a cold, anyway. But I did so under the abundance of caution. First cold I contracted since January 2019. Lucky me.

But, yeah. This was the first time I had to get a Covid test. It's annoying, but I recommend it! Easy peasy.

I work at a movie theater and started wearing a mask again in late August. Few days ago a customer complained to my manager about this. "It's 2023 who is still wearing a mask?!?" Then he made up a story that I followed him from the lobby to his theater berating him for not masking and quoting Covid statistics. My manager knew this wasn't true because the day this supposedly happened I was locked in the box office selling tickets. Also I wouldn't do that anyway. We showed 10,000 Mules and I managed to keep my mouth shut so an anti-masker won't make me flip out.

What kind of a lunatic makes up a story to complain and try to get someone in trouble just for wearing a mask? Rhetorical because I'm 100% sure this guy owns a specific red hat with white lettering. Ironically he'd probably rant about his freedom of choice in what to wear, I just don't get that freedom apparently.

COVID ripped through the court I worked around last month, and I wasn't spared... Given nearly nobody bothers with anything resembling preventative measures and social interactions are back to usual, it's really no surprise...

Well, I'm not at "can't go back to work" levels of long COVID, but four weeks later, I'm still down two or three hours on how long I can normally work in a day and more tired at the end of it.

I still have a lingering cough and fatigue sometimes to the extent it feels as though I barely got any sleep. Like you, not nearly enough to put me out of work, but it makes things more difficult. It's only been a month so I am hoping the symptoms will go away soon.

You both are suffering from residual inflammation, which is likely at the root of long COVID. There are no specific therapies for it, but a diet high in fruits and above-ground vegetables--which contain high levels of multiple anti-inflammatory compounds--may help you feel better faster. Also, if your stomach (s) can tolerate it, load your meals with cayenne pepper and turmeric, which have anti-inflammatory benefits. It won't make a difference at first, but it might ease some of your symptoms over time.

Diet and nutrition's contribution to overall health is often overlooked by physicians, not taught at all in US medical schools, and patients often suffer as a result.

Looking back on the worst global pandemic in a hundred years whomever said that the arc of history bends towards justice was either gravely mistaken or lying.

I wish I had your hope. I've lost it entirely and I cannot ever imagine recovering it. People told and tell me they value human life, but as soon as the going gets tough or personal ideology is threatened loss of human life becomes acceptable.
