JCC Peter Mayhew has passed away

Remember back in the good old days, when this thread was about mourning for Peter Mayhew?

 

I don't know if this is true, but I like it.

This one was a punch to the gut when I saw the notification. I knew he had been in poor health for years. So when Official Pix had him available for signing, I decided to order fearing I would never have the opportunity to meet him in person. And after missing out on a second picture with Carrie before she had passed, I have resolved myself to making every effort with the remaining cast. Fortunately, I have had the pleasure of meeting Carrie, Mark, Ian, and Billy Dee. Unfortunately, I was just a bit too late to add Peter's autograph to my collection.

The sale was for Dallas Fan Expo last Friday, one day after he passed.

I am saddened of course, and I feel bad for all the fans who attended the expo last weekend as well who likely had the same mindset I did. But mostly, I'm just sad for his family and friends. For Peter, I hope he is no longer suffering and is at peace.
