    I don't think I would buy those.

Vintage is cool 'cause its vintage and there is nostalgia involved they aren't very good figures by any stretch. I would possibly buy a replica or custom of the sort if I knew I couldn't aford the orginal (there are a couple of really nice Droids auctions on eBay like that now) but if Hasbro was mass producing the same stuff from the '80s...

DAMN YOU TARGET! Why can't Wal-Mart have any exclusives?! There is not a Target anywhere near me!

Wal-mart does have exclusives, they just suck :p

Except for the early bird, I did like that.

I was one of those who didn't care much for the plo koon jedi starfighter... at first.

:) I have three ROTS jedi starfighters
    Crimson/gray (Obi-wans)
    Yellow/gray (Anakins)
    Green/white (Anakins)

and also an AOTCs red/white jedi starfighter (Obi-Wans)

I have more recently become enamoured by the blue and white Plo Koon starfighter. I like its colouring and white stripes spreading across the fuselage. Something about it appeals, and I'm now finding myself eager to obtain one.

Call me crazy, call me addicted, but...

    I WANT THAT SHIP! :)

It looks great - far more sophisticated and agressive than the red/white obi-wan version.

I like that it was in ROTS. For me, it represents the more civilised, pure jedi starfighter, less designed for war, and more representative of beauty, rather than the later ROTS style, war machine.

:) I would be excited to see the ROTS plo Koon starfighter realised as a toy!

Any rumblings in the Force? Any hints of Plo Koon's ROTS jedi starfighter out there?

    :)

    Anything?

To be perfectly honest, I am desperate to get me paws on one.

That would make the ROTS experience complete for me.

If anyone has any news whatsever pertaining to this topic, share the wealth - a smidgen of hope is enough to keep the dream alive!
    ;)

    Frank,

I wouldn't expect this one to start hitting the shelves until August or September since it's supposed to be a fall exclusive.

    darcphoenyx,

:) Cheers! Thanks for the info. August or September thereabouts - I shall pencil these months into my calender! I live in the southern hemisphere, so it will be springtime when it probably hit the shelves, I'm guessing.

    Thanks again!

    :)

Exclusives would be just fine if the stores could get their **** together and do a little something to make sure fans get the toys and not the scalpers. I'm not talking about checking photo ID with every sale, but if it's a chainwide event, then everyone who works in toys ought to know about it. Know not to sell them before the street date, and especially not to sell the entire box to some scalper scum. Give us collectors a fair chance to find the stuff on the shelves and not on ebay. That's all I ask. And that is what the stores want right? To bring us collectors in and get us to buy?

I think that chain wide they do try. It always seems to be isolated incidents on those sort of things. You know the old one bad apple thing.

Target did a pretty good job with the Lava Vader. I had no problems with the CT though I know it was a mess in other places.

I mean really there is only so much they can do. Target's "collectors" policy is a catch-22 at best and when its not being followed its just a joke.

As a Plo koon fan, I just recentlly got his ship!

Its not all the same as the ATOC's style, it has lil wings on the end of the big wings, It has blast off pieces and turrent missels.

I had no trouble getting my Lava Vader, or Holo Yoda and those were in a much more limited supply than the Clonetroopers.

I went to four different Targets and got five different stories about the Clonetrooper sets. Everything from claiming to only getting one box per store, to claims that it was the first in a series of Exclusive figures for the chain. What I learned was that not one store knew a damned thing about it and not one store really cared. Then I go on ebay and see several offers for entire boxes of the damned things. When a collector like me, who goes to several different stores in several different locations several times a week cannot find an item anywhere but on ebay, then I'd say there was more than just a few rotten apples in that barrel.

According to Hasbro the CT was released in the same numbers as Lava Vader and Holo Yoda (I don't know if they ever actually released the numbers on that one). Yeah the CT wasn't handled well but I went to several stores several times a week and found them on multiple occasions (not to gloat just to show that someplaces it was handled well).

Sounds like the AOTC starfighter. Where did you find it (Target obviously but what state?)

Blue, there are pictures online, have you seen them yet?

Edit: Here is a shot from Hasbro's site if you hadn't seen it yet.

Sorry - I was referring to what colour the poster who said they had Plo Koon's jedi starfighter:

"As a Plo koon fan, I just recentlly got his ship! Its not all the same as the ATOC's style, it has lil wings on the end of the big wings, It has blast off pieces and turrent missels." unquote.

I was wondering if they had the AOTCs jedi starfighter (red) or maybe the clone wars aquamarine blue jedi starfighter. Thanks for the link though, weezer :)

:) I do like the blue/white stripped colour scheme of Koon's ROTS starfighter. I looks fantastic.

    :p

    My bad.

Now that you mention it though I hadn't noticed how similar Anakin's starfighter's paint scheme is to Plo's. I guess its just another one of the subconscious EU things in ROTS.

I live in San Rafael, same city as Skywalker Ranch and ILM. You would think there would be a lot more available, but I don't think its any different than anywhere else. There was more stuff available when I lived in Southern Cal. I was lucky and picked up a few CT exclusives, but I heard people were calling the store with the UPC number or something like that, and buying whole boxes of them. Not until later did Target make a policy for "No Stock Checks" concerning collectible toys. I think a lot of the managers don't know any better and assume they are there to sell stuff, so the first Joe that walks in with money gets as much as he wants of their stock. Damned evil Ebay sellers. We should commit them to internment camps when new stuff is released. (No disrespect to any real internment camp survivors, family, etc.)

Target has had their collectable toys policy for a long time now. I remember seeing it as a kid. How and when it is enforced is a diffrent question though.

It almost seems like using the DCPI # caught them off gaurd. Like if you had been standing in the isle and said "hey can you see if you've got a clone trooper in the back for me" they'd just roll their eyes and point at the sign. Go up to the guest service desk and ask "hey do you have this DCPI # in stock" and you are probably going to get a diffrent response.

I don't know, in the end though all of those back room deals might of back fired on them. They are going for much less then cost on eBay now. Other figures that supposedly had the same production line (live the Lava vader) still are holding their own though. Put all those figures in the hands of people that don't want them, they flood eBay with them eh, who the heck knows I only took one econ class.

    Wow! That looks promising!

Can't wait to get me one of those. Should be a fantastic ship, judging by the packaging alone.
