The irony is that "indigo" was a deep blue and "blue" was a lighter blue known now as cyan, according to Sir Isaac Newton, the man who originally came up with the list of the seven colors. ... I've heard the same phrase about "Satan imitates" from a campus preacher, who then got laughed at sp much that he left in a rage when someone pointed out his "Got Jesus?" sticker and asked him if that meant milk was more powerful than Jesus.
Lawd. I wonder if that’s the same mindset that says it’s racist (or classist) to call the transition from kindergarten to first grade, fifth to sixth grade, or eighth to ninth grade a “promotion ceremony” instead of a “graduation”, because I actually saw that on the interwebz yesterday. I don’t think it’s racist to acknowledge that putting a cap and gown on a five-year-old is stupid, not a “graduation”, and nothing more than a money-maker for school photography companies. Not when I’ll do whatever I can to promote programs and policies that ensure that more people of color are able to actually graduate—you know, from high school and college.
