There will be a Solar Eclipse on the day of the Pope's funeral.

 

I have planned it that way of course.

 

What is also interesting is that it coincides with the prophecy of St. Malachy in reference to this Pope:

The next Pope is described as "Gloria olivae"

There are only 2 Popes left on St. Malachy's list including the one soon to be chosen.

 

Actually its closer then you think the next one is the last pope, St.Malachy only predicted 111 popes not 112. 112 was later added in The Prophecies of St. Malachy, published by TAN in 1969

Of course there are numerous problems if the next pope is going to be the final one. First off the last pope is going to be Jesus himself (which could work with the motto) so in the past seven years we've been living in the tribulation period and there's the entire false prophet and anti-christ thing going on.

So...what are you going to do now?

Every religion has a doomsday myth. If you believe this one, then you probably believe the Mayan prophecy that world will will stop on September 21 2012.

 

But it has been right so far...

 

So? The Mayans had an advanced knowledge of math and astronomy. Does that make their prophecy righ? Of course not, it just superstition.

 

I believe both the Pope prophecy, the Maya prophecy, and the prophecy that oil and gas prices will rise dramatically in the next dozen or so years and cause the complete collapse of civilization.

 

I think the papal prophecy could be right.

However...about the Pope being born during an eclipse and his funeral being during an eclipse, wasn't Mark Twain born and died during Haley's comet? Correct me if I am wrong...

 

I thought to up the thread as the Pope's funeral is going on at this moment.

They're sending off a saint.



I'll miss John Paul II, and I don't think we'll see another one like him for a great many years..

Only in very very vague senses. THat's the thing with prophecies, most of them are extremely vague, and people choose to believe it fits whatever.

THe biggest flaw in that is: Do you really think the Jews, who have been set in their ways for thousands of years, are suddenly, in the next 1-30 years, going to convert en masse to Christianity?

 

Rest in peace with the Lord.

 

Besides, I'm of the opinion that the "End of the World" isn't the physical end. I think it'll end up being just a new timeframe, like we have BC and AD. There will be a movement across the world and people will become more aware of things, or maybe a new technology, but no destruction of the planet or humans.

 

Am I the only one who thinks all of the media coverage of the Pope's funeral a bit disrespectful?

It's like Vatican Bowl XXVII.

 

That funeral was world history in the making.

2500 world leaders, millions of the world's faithful, and hundreds of millions (maybe billions!) joining on TV and radio to say goodbye to a man who was born a poor boy with no possessions and died the richest man in the world but still with no possessions to speak of.

JPII gave so so much to this world that all this coverage of his death and celebration of his life are the world's way of trying to pay back somewhat all the love and kindness he showed us. After he visited 1 billion people across the globe, they are now returning to him in Rome physically and spiritually to honor his life and pray for his soul.
